Service 3 star Sales 5 star…read moreOverall 4 star I purchase a 2004 leisure sprinter van - free spirit. This vehical has 90k and in clean condition. The price of this class b van was 10k more than I wanted to spend but the mileage and condition made it tempting. I told the sales woman Colby that I liked it but that I didn't think they could get into my payment goal of under $300. She was able to with two trades and 3k down. I was super excited and ready to go. The sales process was pretty painless. After I signed the deal and was looking at it with the finance guy, I see they got the full asking price. I felt a bit stupid for missing that and was squirming and uncomfortable that I missed that because I was focused on payments. When I expressed that to Colby she recommend I talk to the sales manager Bill. He was also very accommodating and wanted me to feel good so he threw in extra services, valued at approximately 3k my cost. Mind you this is after I signed. He didn't have to but he did. I appreciated that very much. Since this van was only covered by a 30 day warranty. I decided I shouldn't leave to OR for the summer until I checked it all out. On our way out of Lake Havasu the oil pressure light kept coming on and off. I was conserned to take it to the Grand Canyon with that issue. I Called the service department and was told to check the oil. I did and was unable to detirmin where the full mark was. They asked me to drive back 20 miles to have them look. 3 hours later they told me they over filled it but not by much. They didn't think it would matter, so the mechanic knew it was a little over full. Ok mistakes happen. I return from my road trip and go to pull out of my driveway and black oil everywhere. Take it to Kam (service manager) telling him I have a serious oil leak but it's only a quart low. Bring it in and I'm told it's transmission fluid. I'm like but that's suppose to be red. I'm told they didn't get all the old oil out and that I will need to do another trasmission service in 30-40k. Nope this is not right but I didn't fight them. I just let it go. I just want the leak to stop. They say the new plug didn't come with O-Rings. They made an effort to address the issue that day which was great. I appreciated that. I waited until it was "fixed". Drove it all that day, parked it. Next day Transmission is leaking BAD. I return of a Friday arounf 10 am, the tech is gone for the day due to a family emergency. The service manager tells me to take the van for the weekend, I'm conserned with such a leak it could damaged the transmission. He said no it wouldnt be enough leak to hurt it. Not sure about it but have no other vehicles since I gave them both my vehicles. Monday comes I bring the van at 9am. This time I'm telling Kam, the alignments not right, and the leak issues. I need this taken care of. He agrees and takes care of the alignment but apparently that took the entire day and the leak wasn't fix, Kam calls and says he needs the van for one more day, and that the mechanic will repair it at 7:30 when he get in. I agree. The entire day I resist the desire to call. I wait. 15 min before closing I call. No one is there. Now I'm upset. The next morning at 8:30 I get a call from somebody (not Kam) telling me the van is ready. He offers to deliver it. I declined because I need to get reassurance from Kam the service manager that he will warntee his work beyon the 30 days. He did not come out to meet me after I walked down there. Overall the score should be a 3 star because the service mistakes cost me a lot of time and project delays. However they did try and make it right and the sales process was super smooth I will give a 4. Buyer beware, but not a bad dealership. The people are working hard, kind and are trying hard. Just not sure they have a handle on the service end of things. It's the hardest part and I would hate it, but things have to be done right and you have to trust the mechanic and service department. I'm not there yet, but am hopeful the 3rd time is the charm. I asked for a document of what they fixed, and that I want a 6 month warranty on thier work. Colby said she would keep on Kam to get that to me. Let's see what happens. I hope it won't take me rolling in one more time to get this document.
