Yesterday, on November 12, 2024, the Hastings women's soccer team faced off against Concordia for the league championship. While congratulations may be in order for their soccer victory, I cannot say the same about their loss to human decency, respect, and teamwork. My child, who plays for Concordia, was subjected to racially charged comments from the crowd. Disturbingly, neither the coaching staff nor the referee intervened to stop the hateful and offensive remarks directed at her. As a result, my child felt unsafe and unprotected in an environment that, according to the Hastings College website, promotes "Acceptance & Belonging" as a core value (https://www.hastings.edu/about/acceptance-and-belonging/). I strongly advise parents: if you want your child to feel accepted and welcome, Hastings College is NOT the right school for them. This incident demonstrates that Hastings has fallen short of fostering an atmosphere of respect and inclusion. Allowing such vile rhetoric to be directed at any player should have been addressed immediately by the referees, coaches, and other players. The lack of action in this situation casts doubt on the college's commitment to its own stated values. Congratulations, Hastings, on your win; however, how does it feel to lose your morals? P.S. No, we will not be deported. We are, and always have been, incredibly proud of you--you have NEVER disappointed us! I will be filing a complaint! read more

This was my first physical visit to this campus. I've been to Hastings before but never had a reason to enter any buildings at the college until today. The Human Performance area has come a long ways from a few years back, nice improvements to help with the curriculum which is a certified NSCA Education Recognition Undergraduate Program. The campus is clean, well maintained, and the parking was not being enforced, allowing me to park without risk of a parking ticket. The athletic facilities look very modern and well maintained also. I was impressed with my quick experience at this private liberal arts institution. read more

Best midwest college around! Sure I might be biased but I loved my experience and the education I received from it. The campus is absolutely beautiful and the community that surrounds the college is extremely supportive of it's students and grads. It's in the middle of Nebraska buts it's what you make of it. Not a bad drive to Lincoln or Omaha and if you'd like to go to Denver for the weekend you can! Student to teacher ratio is 12:1. They excel in athletics and in academics. To sum my experience up quickly, if I hadn't attended Hastings College, I would not be where I'm at nor would I be pursuing my passion. Hastings Does That. read more
