As for the first item, some of the advice provided was useful. However it appeared from these discussions that he lacks sufficient experience in more complex matters. He did agree that because he was now familiar with the case (At cost by the hour $$$) he would be ready when I called to proceed. When I contacted him two weeks later, and at the expected time line, made an excuse to avoid proceeding, after taking our money and time. He also represented my brother-in-law in a serious workplace accident case and ultimately secured a mid-six figure settlement when the employer initially offered $10k. However, I didn't really understand how great a lawyer Vince is until I became a client of his. I was riding my bike and was hit by an unlicensed/uninsured car driver who ran a stop sign, crashed into me and caused substantial injuries (chin nearly severed from my face, 80 stitches to reattach, permanent nerve damage, etc.) and then fled the scene. The case was legally complicated for a variety of reasons and ultimately involved significant litigation (depositions, arbitration, etc.) over a two-year period against my own carrier under my uninsured motorist coverage. Long story short, my insurance company offered me something like $50k just before the arbitration. We politely declined the offer and ended up with multiples of that. Vince's closing argument at the arbitration was simply brilliant. Really, as I sat and listened to him describe the accident's impact on my life, I was stunned how good he was. Put differently, I have been in court most days for the past 22 years and have witnessed such a performance by an attorney on only several occasions (each of which I can distinctly recall). Vince is old school. He's a gentleman's lawyer. Polite, classy, patient and highly ethical while still being a forceful and effective advocate. He's also a great guy, personable and with a very interesting life story. When you're in a jam (or injured like I was), he will provide a great deal of comfort and counsel in how best to proceed. If you are in need of a civil lawyer, as a plaintiff or defendant, I simply cannot imagine finding anyone better.
