I called several attorneys located in New London County of CT to see how much they would charge for a Will for my wife and me. Without mentioning their names, many were between $850.00 - $1200.00, and beyond! When I stopped by his Law Office in Norwich CT, his secretary informed me it would cost about $700.00, and is when I made our first appointment! My wife & I showed up for our appointment, as scheduled, and I was very impressed with Attorney Ortega and knew he was highly qualified to provide my wife & I, our Last Will and Testament! After our consultation with Attorney Ortega, we were scheduled to return the following week to pick-up and pay for our Last Will and Testament! Not only was Brian…read moreunfamiliar with criminal law, he led my fiancé to believe he would only be in jail for a few days when in fact he had to serve several weeks and ended up losing his job. How did Brian not know it's a law you are required to serve 50%of your jail time? I found that out from the councilor at the prison. If we had known this ahead of time we would have opted for a trial instead since he had a good case to be found not guilty, but we wanted to move on and put this whole ordeal behind us so we took Brian's advice of 8-10 days in jail and then save money not going to trial. Be your own advocate and research the laws because apparently not even lawyers know the law!

Mariani Reck and Lane LLC Stephen E. Reck…read more I thank Stephen E. Reck and his firm for the great job that he did with my divorce. I started with my divorce with another attorney. After many, many months of providing any and all information needed to my ex attorney and him not demanding same from my wife, during the pre-trial, I realized he was not thorough in pursuing what was rightfully mine. After it continued with no result, I finally contacted Attorney Stephen E. Reck. Attorney Reck reviewed my file and went to work with guiding me on financial issues that were now out of control and after the depositions, things changed rapidly. The agreement was negotiated, hearing was held, and I was divorced. During the hearing the Judge praised my attorney for a very well thought out and fair settlement. I received so much more than the first attorney said I would get. Attorney Stephen E. Reck and his staff treated me with professionalism, respect and compassion. So again, thank you for your service, your guidance.

After a $7,500 retainer and $24,500 in additional hourly fees, I went in front of the judge. He gave my ex the house, ordered me to pay my ex $25,000, give up all furnishings, and pay alimony. When I asked if I could have a jury trial, the judge said "I won't be your judge at trial, but I think it possible another judge would increase your alimony by $300 weekly and keep all other terms." Linda said nothing, except to tell me to take the offer. So, I spent $32,000, lost everything obtained during my marriage, and got to see my kids every other weekend. I felt like I was railroaded and Linda was driving the locomotive: she ran up my legal tab and accomplished nothing. I think I could have gotten a better deal on my own.
