There shouldn't be even 1 star for them, they are the real gamers, and they will never share the agreement with you if you ask them to send it for review before you sign. They will say the sales agent will come and get it signed in person and when they come they make you sign quickly without letting you read it properly by making you busy with unnecessary current affairs gossiping 1st thing, and if you read it and don't agree they will say oh sorry your agreement is different not this one and they will put another better contract which sign but they don't give you copies of anything, however, they forge your signature on the other one which you refused to sign and try to use them against you if you ask them to take the listing off or you change your mind to not sale the business etc. PLEASE BE VERY CAREFUL FROM THESE WHITE-COLLAR SCAMMERS. read more

Well, what can be said about this sham of a company that's not been said before on multiple previous reviews...I just wish I had read all the negative reviews before instructing them to sell my business. To add to the negativity about this company here is our story. - instructed Harvey Silver Hodgkinson to sell our business late last year. - They DON'T disclose any information related to their fees or commission over the phone, you have to have the sales agent come out to your business. - They came out and advised that due to it's prominent location in a very well known road they would have no trouble selling it and even had a list of people already lined up who were waiting for business and premises like ours to come on. - They also advised that the sale price of £65,000 was achievable due to the above. - A contract was hastily shoved in front of us and asked to sign. We were not offered the chance to read though or review this contract as sales person late for another meeting. - We were not given ANY copy of the contract, despite requesting this a few days after we had signed and again at 6mths and 10mths -First viewing was set up within a week, however for this they did not do the viewing themselves, we were told we had to do it. When the person turned up, they advised us that they weren't even interested in our business but had been persuaded to view it to compare against other businesses - 2 more viewings were set up but mysteriously cancelled at the last minute or didn't show up. Again HSJ weren't going to be present for the viewings and advised that we had to do it. When we advised of the no-shows we were advised they would contact the prospective viewer and come back to us. No one ever did. - Things then went silent for about two months. After which we contacted them to ask what was going on. Mysteriously the very next day they had a potential viewer! Guess what, the viewer never turned up. - Contacted them to advise of the no-show, and to now complain of the service we were getting...we were advised someone would call us back to address our concerns. No one did. Received call few days later about another viewer, despite our outstanding complaint we were again advised that we had to do the viewing. This time the person showed up, liked the business and premises but in talking to us, disclosed that their budget was only up to £25k, they also said they weren't sure as to why HSH had pushed them to come and view a business for sale at £65k, over double their budget, and had informed them that they wouldn't be able to afford anywhere near that amount, HSH nonetheless persuaded them to come and view the business. We advised the viewer that we were confused about this, as HSH new the asking price of the business and also had the very bottom limit we could go to for any offers, which was more than £20k over their budget. Viewer apologised and said she wouldn't be using HSH again. HSH then advised an offer had been made for £25k. Weird. No contact from HSH for further 3 months. Nothing. We set up people to contact them to pose as potential interested viewers/buyers; - 1 told business was sold - 1 told business no longer on market - 2 directed to other "better businesses" Due to above we contacted HSH and issued letter stating we no longer wanted them to act for us. HSH subsequently made contact to demand disbursements fee of £600. Stated the small print of contract allowed them to do so and also advised that small print stated that any directors of Ltd company were PERSONALLY liable if the business did not pay. We held off but were then issued with COURT summons from them. We had no choice but to pay £970. We have since purchased a number of web domains to allow all people who have had bad experience of HSH to publish and promote this across multiple online platforms to raise awareness of their shady business. These domains will be made public once HSH responds to this review which judging by response to other negative reviews will be laughable. Pick your battles more wisely next time HSH. read more
