I love all the furniture, accessories here....rustic, repurposed, using reclaimed wood...i've bought a number of items and most recently a round side table (Fanny) for my bedroom. Prices are slightly high but the furniture is different from most store (if you can find anything like it elsewhere)....staff here is friendly, helpful and not pushy ...My experience with Zandra today was wonderful.... I'm still in love with this place! 3 years ago I ordered a Surya rug and 2 years ago I ordered two custom made coffee tables and I'm still enjoying everything I ordered. The only complaint I have is for some of the stains, the stain will rub off when you rub a cleaning cloth on it (or worse - a wet napkin). So if you're in the process of picking out a stain, you should check to make sure the color you pick won't rub off easily OR accept the fact that the stain will easily rub off. The staff here is very friendly, not pushy and definitely easy to work with. I still love Harvest for the same reasons: high quality, recycled wood, friendly service and the ability to customize pieces to fit my space. I have spaces where I'm looking for furniture with a very specific dimensions and searching high and low over for something pre-built was very difficult and/or the quality I saw was very poor. I want pieces that will last that I can enjoy for years to come! This week I placed an order for a custom made media cabinet/stand. Mary helped me bring my design to life. My husband had very specific requests to the width, height, number of holes, shelf sizes, compartments, etc. for all of the electronic equipment and we had no issues working with her nailing down the details via email as well as in person. FYI on payment for custom pieces - half of the amount is due when you place the order. The remainder of the payment is when the piece arrives (usually around 4 weeks). read more

Harvest gets five stars for style alone! But the customer service is fantastic as well. Here's my happy story: I've lived in the San Carlos area for about 15 years. Recently, my home has started looking very 1990s to me. So I decided to finally get rid of some of the old budget furniture I'd bought when I was younger and poorer and spring for some nice stuff. I then did a lot of searching on the Crate and Barrel and Pottery Barn websites, but everything started to look the same. Including the very high prices. One day I stopped in to Harvest and quickly loved what I saw. Barbara was working that day, and dropped everything to help me find exactly what I needed. She was not at all hard-sell, but went out of her way to show me things that might excite me. She even offered to come by my home so she could see what my challenges were. She quickly came up with a few excellent suggestions. We started with a coffee table and a rug. Then I spotted some pillows I liked that might help bring my old sofas back to life. Then a pair of bedside lamps. Then an easy chair. Then I stopped. For now... The prices on all of these items were lower than they'd have been at other local retailers. Even with custom-made pillows! Home furnishings of this quality are hard to find, much less at prices like this. My shopping experience with Mary was superb. She had to jump through a few hoops to get things done for me. But to her, nothing other than perfect was acceptable. By the way, delivery happened quickly, and even the two delivery guys were total pros. Harvest is a fantastic locally owned retailer. Horrible Customer Service Experience Worked with designer Nikii to order a custom sofa for Christmas. Never received a call confirming when the order would be delivered, called the store to find out the fabric was back ordered so the sofa would not be delivered until January. Nikii suggests another fabric so we go with that. I assume the order was placed on Monday, stopped in the store on Friday to find out the fabric was discontinued. They never bothered to call and tell me the fabric was back ordered or discontinued. Super frustrated, I decided to cancel the order( on suggestion from Nikii). The manager and Nikii did not seem to care that they lost my business and I will hesitate before ever considering them again!! read more

We have purchased a sectional couch from Harvest a couple of months ago! The dream came true! We have scheduled a private appointment and met the sweetest lady ever! Barbara helped us to find the fabric and the right model as well as coordinated the delivery details. Karsten the owner was very helpful with updates when the sectional left the manufacturer and when it was deliver to their warehouse. The delivery guys called us to schedule the delivery and even showed up 30 mins earlier! Great customer service! And the sectional is our heaven! We finally found what we were looking for! The good: I love the style of each assembled space in the show room. The in-store team is helpful and happy to assist. The new warehouse store is fantastic - be sure to check it out! The bad: That $50 design service was horrible. Maybe because it was a horrible match with our style. Maybe because she wanted to be paid in cash before she left. But probably because the designer arrived in our home for an hour and determined there was only one way to design our living space. Just one. No room for creativity, no room for options or plushy pillows. We asked for a designer because it's a challenging space and we wanted someone creative that could help map out some options for a cozy family space. So, we ordered dining chairs back in September and were told they would be delivered in 2-3 weeks. 4 weeks later I started to call to chase down the chairs. After multiple calls and awful communication back from the store, we found out they were backordered and wouldn't arrive until December. The store manager gave us a date of Dec 10 and despite the bad service, we decided just to wait. It is now December 15 and we've just been told (again after chasing down the info, not from the store reaching out) that the chairs are still not ready. At this point, it feels like a scam and we're so pissed off we're canceling the order. We've just moved into a new home, so we're dealing with a lot of different furniture stores and this is the worst customer service we've experienced. It's too bad, I thought the store had some cute stuff, but won't ever shop here again. read more

We love Harvest and have frequently visited during walks downtown. We have purchased an occasional lamp and end table but recently used their design service. Mary, the designer, was amazing. She went out of her way to accommodate our schedule and when we met, she seemed to get what we wanted and needed. During our follow up consult, Mary got everything right. We were so impressed how she was able to hear what we wanted and delivered! We are purchasing several more items from the store after our consult and I am very excited to see it all come together. On a side note, Harvest is a major supporter of San Carlos Educational Foundation and that is very meaningful knowing they support our schools and kids! read more

Harvest in San Carlos just opened last week and I was intrigued to check it out. Finally shopped there this afternoon.Loved it! Very helpful and good customer service. I hope it remains that way. I'm so happy to see this place in San Carlos. It's right next to the new Peet's Coffee on Laurel Street. So location is convenient. They have 2 other stores - one in Menlo Park and another one in Burlingame. I wanted to go there after seeing the cutest "card" holder in someone's home. I'd describe Harvest furniture as retro chic, California style. The furniture pieces have distressed look - and everything looks casual - and comfortable but still upscale. I would definitely go back as a fun place to shop. read more

Hmm...well on the surface this place looks fun and festive! We explored the San Carlos store, hired their designer and bought some items. Once delivered, the issues started; late delivery, bad customer service and poor quality. 3 strikes! But then we heard of the new Redwood City warehouse and thought to give it a try. Even worse! Upon entering, you feel like your being watched like a hawk. I walked by the front desk and did not hear the sales rep ask me if I needed help. The other Harvest rep decided to (yell) " Sir, do you need any help?" as if I was rude to them somehow?!? Very strange, needless to say my wife observed the strange interaction, she grabbed my arm and we left quickly to enjoy the rest of our day. Good Luck Harvest! read more

We ordered a custom bench, selected color from their samples, color came back no where near that expected- it actually looks like paint and not a stain. We were told to just let it fade, that the actual stains can be very different than what is in the sample - so what good is the sample? Buyer beware - if you order something based on the sample color - what you get may not be anything like the sample. Wont go here again. My solution will be to refinish (likely paint) the bench myself. This was part of a pretty pricy total order (more than one item purchased) so easy to sell - not so easy to satisfy the customer. read more

Summary: Highly recommended! Great style, great service, trustworthy. Style: I love everything about this store. I could spend hours wandering around in it, if I were ever there without my husband... Customer service: The staff were all very friendly and helpful, even when we learned that the woman who helped us on our first visit had transferred to a different Harvest location. I think this means she gets the commission (her name is on the order), but still the other staff who helped us actually place the order were all so great. Satisfaction: We ordered a bedroom set here, with the idea that it will stay with us for decades. Though the dressers are made from reclaimed wood and meant to be distressed, one had a large crack in it that made us worry about how it would hold up over the years. We took some photos, sent them to Nicole at Harvest, and within a couple of days were notified that we would be receiving a new dresser to replace the cracked one. I cannot tell you how much piece of mind it gives me to shop somewhere where you can trust them to fix issues like this!! I feel very lucky that we chose to buy our furniture here. Delivery: The delivery was super easy, and after having done all my moves myself, I highly recommend paying for it if you can! read more

We bought a new home and decided to redecorate, we went to many (so so many) places but we fell in love the second we walked into Harvest. The service was wonderful (Vanessa is fantastic!) and the quality is amazing. We purchased multiple custom order items as well as standard pieces and we LOVE every single item. The delivery of our bedroom furniture was holding up the delivery of our couch, but Vanessa was able to organize two separate deliveries for us, free of charge. I have to update my review because we recently purchased a sofa from Harvest. I went for a light color despite being a family of 5 and having a dog. It's been 4 months and I've had no trouble keeping the sofa clean, it was reasonable and it looks great. I also purchased an end table and some bar stools from Harvest in the past year. The customer service is amazing, and I just want to move in to the store. Their prices are competitive--if you are in the market for a sofa, definitely check out Harvest. Love, love, love them!! OK. I am sorry to say that the furniture from here wasn't the best for the money that I spent. There were so much quality problems. Granted that Harvest tried to fix it but it left a negative indelible mark on me. I give 2 stars because the people were nice. But beware of the quality of the furniture. I spent a lot of money furnishing my new house but I am regretting going here. You better off checking out other places first for quality. I had a few piece custom made. However, they might as well come from Pier 1 or TJMax. I wanted to buy local but I wish that I had done more research. read more

I admired a clock in the store and asked for the price. The clerk said it was $125 with a %15 discount. She wrote this on a card for me. I returned to purchase the clock a week later (driving 30 minutes out of my way) and was told by a different clerk that I had been quoted the incorrect price and that it was really $189. She offered to take 30% off, but that was still $25 more than I was quoted. She would not match the price I was originally given. That's not customer service.
