Petra unlike other chains, actually knows how coffee ought to taste like so if you're in Kanyon and need a quick fix, skip the chain coffee shops, skip the chain cafés like The House Café or Well Done or Kitchenette. Come to Petra, Petra welcomes you my fellow Yelpers, come and enjoy some fine Kenyan beans which burst with floral notes. The only downside of Petra is that it's quite tiny. Their main location is around Gayrettere, which is an incredibly cool looking place but hard to get to. The food is decent though not exceptional and it is a bit expensive for what you get. Our office often orders birthday cakes from Art Cafe and I must say that they are often disappointing, especially considering their relatively high prices. I think they are known for their flourless cakes, which is not to my taste but somewhat popular in our office. If you are around the corner looking for dessert or a quick lunch and you want to avoid big shopping malls, this place might be an option but I think you can find better food and dessert in this neighborhood.

No major complaints or unmet expectations here. If you are ever in Istanbul for any reason, this is a wonderful break from the craziness of the touristy parts of the city. After your coffee take a stroll along the seaside or walk up to the Rumeli Hisar.
