It's hard to write this review simply because I don't want to share this place with anyone, but it…read moreis a diamond in Duchesne county. Some people might be looking for a more chain hotel feel (pool, fitness room, free breakfast). This is not that hotel, but to me it's so much better. Each room is basically a two story townhouse . There are three bedroom, each with an en-suite bathroom. There is a fully stocked kitchen, a living room and a laundry room with a full size washer and dryer. The units are clean, modern, and spacious. With the full kitchen you can cook your own meals and with starvation reservoir in close proximity you don't need a pool. The other great thing is the reasonable price. There is a chain hotel in close proximity, but their slightly larger rooms are comparable or generally more expensive. The only drawback to me was the 10 am checkout. With a large family getting everyone motivated in the morning is always hard.

Im surprised there are not more reviews here. My wife and I visited Winterton Suites last time we…read morewere in Duchesne and I wish we had Winterton Suites every place we stay when we travel. These rooms are worth triple what you actually pay. They are very clean, comfortable, and extremely affordable. The other hotels in Duchesne don't even come close to these. We have visited the one in Roosevelt and Duchesne and they are both great! Take a look at the pictures of the rooms on their website They are pretty dang nice! I get upset sometimes because I look online at pictures of hotel rooms, then when I get there its nothing like the pictures I saw. Every other hotel I know of just doctors their pictures and you don't get anything like what you saw in pics... But at Winterton Suites, it's EXACTLY what the pictures show and it's amazing. Definitely worth your money and I haven't even mentioned the pool and other features.

The Best Western Plus Landmark Hotel in Ballard is the nicest classiest Best Western in which we…read morehave ever stayed. The check in clerk, Barb, upgraded our room to a king suite with a kitchenette. It was basically a full kitchen! Barb also gave us a gift bag with cookies, water bottles, and other treats since we are Best Western Diamond Members. The towels were the softest and very large, which is one way we evaluate and rate our hotels. The breakfast was phenomenal!!! Full hot breakfast with numerous choices and 'to go' items with 'to go' containers. The best part of the dining room was the real dishes, utensils, and a children's play area. We stay at Best Western hotels whenever we are able because of the high quality and excellent service. This was the Best of them all!!! Thank you to the manager, Diana, and assistant manager, Angelica.

Unfortunately a family tragedy last month brought me to this "small town" hotel way far away from…read morehome. I had just driven 850 miles in 11 hours to get to my husband that arrived before me. I had 2 hours to check-in, get ready & find the local mortuary to say goodbye to my father-in-law. Nicole met me at the front desk...1.5 days early of the reservations I had made online...I quickly explained the horrific situation because my husband was to arrive any minute and I didn't know what to do. We had no place to stay on top of things. My husband came in at that moment and collapsed in the lobby. Nicole remained professional and didn't get ruffled by his emotionally charged display. She not only got us into a room early, she helped me combine the multiple online reservations I had made, while I was sobbing back at home before leaving....and even extended our stay a couple days further "just in case". She told us it was easier to cancel instead of taking a chance on not having a room. She was right. We needed the two additional days to deal with packing up a life. I would hands down hire Nicole should she ever apply to my workplace. She was calm, professional, caring and even more gratefully didn't tell us "to have a nice day." She offered sincere condolences. Now, as far as the hotel. It was great. I would come back just to visit and check out the area in a heartbeat and stay here. Complimentary cookies in the afternoon, a delicious breakfast every day (was utterly shocked by the care the person working Tues-Sat gave us), and a coffee machine in the hall that kept us caffeinated for the week we were there. It was nice to come back after a day of sorting & packing to relax in the hot tub & pool and take a mental break from the tasks. I appreciated the washer & dryer because I failed in packing both of us enough clothing) and it was nice to see the gym & pool table, though didn't use. Housekeeping was great, kept our room as we asked (because we had stuff we had to bring from another location) and even left us extra towels and garbage bags for the day we requested no service, because it was our only day to sleep until we woke up after more than a week of no real sleep. It was probably the best customer service I have ever had at a regular hotel chain in such a nice hotel. Nicole made this stay for us. The BW we got the night after we left here in Elko, NV was awful, we were so disappointed. We didn't want to touch anything.

On a recent drive out towards Vernal and back we decided to "stretch" and stop here instead of further east, on our way back to the Provo area. I'm so glad we did. One of the best burgers I've had in quite some time and my wife loved her meal. Big, comfortable booths with nice woodwork, fantastic views, and as I mentioned earlier the waitstaff couldn't have been nicer. I think this is our new go-to place for "fine casual" dining. Sundance has gotten kind of full of themselves, this is just about twice the time and distance, and will make a great place to bring visiting friends and family.

Wonderful snowmobile ride + scenery + store + restaurant + staff !!!…read more - - - - - - - - November, 2022 Visit For Thanksgiving we visited Park City, UT and had a great time. Snowmobiling at Daniels Summit Lodge is one of the trip's highlights... we all enjoyed skiing and also agreed that snowmobiling at Daniels Summit was the best part of our trip! The snowmobiling is safe and fun and easy for anyone to pick up... and the scenery + views are A M A Z I N G !!! We'd give it six stars if we could! - - - - - - - - Background / Planning My wonderful wife had an idea that we should enjoy some snowmobiling on our trip, and after a brief talk with Lori, the Concierge at Marriott's Summit Watch (awesome Lori!!!!), we were introduced to Daniels Summit Lodge and Snowmobiling. To learn more and to make our reservation, we called and spoke with Jed, who was very helpful... Jed shared that they offer 2-hour and 3-hour self-guided tours in the Uinta-Wasatch-Cache National forest. You can drive your own snowmobile (!!!), and those under 16 can choose to ride tandem with someone else. Rides start at various times of the day... when we were there, Thanksgiving week, the start times were 8am, 10am, 1pm & 3pm. We booked 10am. - - - - - - - - What is / Where is... Daniels Summit Daniels Summit is the name of the mountain pass and the town - the log cabin homes across the street and Daniels Summit Lodge + Restaurant + General Store + Snowmobile Rentals. The town sits at 8,020 feet elevation, up about 2,000 ft from the ~ 6,000 ft in Heber City; the drive to and from Daniels Summit is beautiful - hillsides, valleys and far-away snow-covered peaks... and more beauty awaits along the entire snowmobile trail. Daniels Summit is south-southeast from Park City; drive time is about 40 minutes from when you get onto Utah Highway 189 / 40 East (yes East... though on a map the highway is almost due south, but it turns easterly further south). - - - - - - - - Arrival & Check-in When you arrive, enter the General Store to sign-in by completing the riding wavers, etc. Dawn was great, providing friendly help, getting us signed in. You then proceed to the lower level to pick your helmet (they also offer riding gear) and to watch the safety video. Becky then escorts you to the snowmobile and goes you moving. - - - - - - - - The snowmobiles Becky will make sure you understand how to start the snowmobile - red button up; ignition on; pull the cord (like a lawn mower). There's a separate button for backing up, which we didn't need (the one u-turn we needed our son and I pulled and lifted and turned his around). The snowmobiles are easy to drive... right-hand thumb level for gas / acceleration; left hand brake (just like a bike). The handles are heated, and so is the thumb accelerator!!! The snowmobile will start accelerating after you get the engine to ~ 3,400 rpm... the RPM are top on the dashboard, and the mph right below that. While my wife and I mostly drove around 20 mph, and sometimes up to 30 mph or so, our son and daughter went much faster (safely) - it was fun to go slow to enjoy the view, and the speedier times were also exciting just because of the speed in the beautiful Utah outdoors. - - - - - - - - The ride... Beautiful Wonderful Amazing Slow... Fast... in-between - you set your pace, via the thumb on the throttle The trees, the trail, the views... The sky, such a deep blue... with your own eyes it looks like the deep blue typically only visible using circular polarized (CPL) lenses on your camera... but here you should see deep blue skies with your naked eyes... the contrast, especially, of the birch trees against that beautiful blue sky... so beautiful The trees, so tall... birch and evergreens... sometimes completely separate - a couple places we stopped to enjoy the scenery had one grove on the right and the other on the left; other places the birches and evergreens are mixed together... God's handiwork! The snow so beautiful... and the shadows, even in mid-day, due to the sun being low in the winter sky. And if you stop and turn off the engines... it will be so so still. - - - The trail Elevation... You start at 8,020 feet and get up to at least 9,800... that's almost 2,000 feet total elevation... and while the trail has quite a few hills going up and down, none are dangerous. (We have two teenagers and a mom and dad old enough to vouch for the safety) The trail is 27-miles long. The trail is roughly a figure-eight... with one side loop much larger than the others. - - - - - - - - Comparison... For spring break 2020, we riding ATVs off-road at a course in Palm Springs / Palm Desert, and will return on our next trip there. AND Snowmobiling at Daniels Summit was EVEN MORE FUN - all four of us loved every aspect of the day! THANK YOU Jed, Dawn, the entire restaurant staff, Becky and everyone else for such a wonderful day !!!
