We had used this company to paint our exterior brick and they did a good job for a fair price. We…read morehired them to do our deck and had a completely different experience. 1. The salesperson was prompt and very friendly, but we asked for a "natural" stain, discussing how we wanted to retain the natural color of our (brand new) deck. Somehow he took that to mean a bright orange stain that is named "natural." The project manager never met with us before the job. So between the salesperson and the project manager, nobody ever reviewed a color with us. Which didn't seem that strange since what we were expecting was a clear/protective coat - not a color that needed to be reviewed or approved. 2. Came home to a bright orange deck!! On top of that had many spots that weren't covered fully. They also didn't power wash or scrub any areas so there were spots that were completely different colors. 3. They offered us a very small discount to keep the orange and agreed to come back and "correct" the spots that were bad. The Sherwin Wiliams rep even came out to consult and very clearly said the areas would have to be sanded/blended or it was going to look worse. So, here is where the real problem came in. The did not sand or blend the second layer in any way whatsoever. They clearly came out and sprayed a second layer over the previous layer without any prep or blending. So the deck is now a brighter, shinier orange with little pin dots and bubbles all over it and is completely uneven and you can see drips on the underneath side. Some days there are still spots that turn wet and sticky in the sun. We signed a waiver to receive that small discount so we are out of luck. But the deck truly looks terrible and anyone who sees it can see the testament to their work. We will have to have it completely sanded and redone next season. Extra disappointing since this is a brand new deck. Also note that they do not have employees (other than the layers of sales team/project manager) they are aggregating painters week of the project.

No matter what problem we…read moreran into (multiple layers of wallpaper, knowing to make the walls smooth after you take off the wallpaper because of the glue, and special needs for VOC paint, etc) they came up with solutions and did an amazing job. This was very important since they were painting my entire house. It's one thing to get a company that has experience painting and doing a good job which is what we all look for, but with DS Painting you get far above with the owner, Victoria's, eye for design. Her goal isn't just to paint, it is to make sure that the end result looks better than expected. I really appreciated her input as my eye for design is zero. If you are looking for a high-quality painter who does things the right way, I highly recommend DS Painting.

As you…read moreget older, your attention moves from the latest cocktail bar to what blinds look best on your house. It's a fact. So, instead of contemplating which country would find me gracing its shores for a vacation, I was going over paint colors and the difference between satin and flats. Home ownership and adulthood... what a pair. The good news is when you need to make important adult decisions, there are sites like Yelp and businesses like Nash Painting. Here's the spoiler alert: painting your house is expensive. There really is no way to avoid it. It's just one of those things. So, if you're engaging in an expensive endeavor, you need to make sure you're dealing with an ethical company who hires good people and uses a top-notch product. That's Nash Painting. From soup to nuts, the people at Nash Painting were patient, considerate, friendly, professional, and efficient. It took me a long time to figure out what I wanted and how I wanted it done. I doubt that I was the ideal customer. I took too long to make decisions. I waffled. Never once was I treated with derision, frustration or nastiness. Not once. It may seem like a small thing but when preparing to spend $$ for something not easily changed, it's a process -- and the Nash Painting crew went through that process with me. The people they employ make an incredible team and are a huge part of why this was such a good experience. From Brian in sales to Linda in scheduling, I was kept abreast of what was going on and what I needed to do. Darren the carpenter came out to my home prior to doing the work to walk the property with me, ask what I needed and gave me insight in to how he planned to do the work. As he went about fixing the wood work and prepping for the eventual paint job, he walked me through what was happening and why so that I not only understood the process but understood what was happening on/in my home. My painting crew were rock stars. Led by Jose and Sergio, the guys were prompt (that means early... but you have to be in this awful Middle Tennessee summer weather), diligent, thoughtful, hard working, and meticulous. They took pride in their work and it showed. They arrived early and stayed late, working the entire time. They applied several coats to my home and did so evenly and professionally. My house has several odd peaks. Rather than making excuses about not being able to do the work, they got on ladders and made miracles happen. Unlike some other reviewers, I had zero issues communicating with them. They asked me questions, showed me what they were doing and kept me up-to-date about the whys and hows of their work. Polite, friendly and gracious, I was happy to provide them breakfast and have them at my home. The end result is a home I am extremely proud of. It pops. The color looks better than I imagined (after a brief freak out that I chose the wrong color) and I've had several neighbors ask me for my painters' contact information. My home looks fantastic and that's entirely due to the folks at Nash Painting. Even better, the work is warrantied for 10+ years so if anything crops up, I am not fearful that I'm on my own. Over the course of owning my home, I am sure to need painting services (touch ups, interior walls, etc.). Nash Painting is my new go-to. Home maintenance is expensive and (seemingly) endless. Have professionals at your side.
