No one at the nursing station, took over an hour to get a call light answered. Then Aaron the charge nurse yelled at myself and my sister in the hallway. He was trying to state the rules but in the rudest and unprofessional way, his face was bright red and clearly already in an agitated state. My father was in a serious accident and we as family are stressed and sleep deprived, I would think that a nurse would have the professionalism to speak to families in a respectful and caring way. Aaron did not, as someone who works in health care, I would never have someone like Aaron representing my facility. My father's call light was on for over an hour and no one came in, but Aaron is concerned about how many people are in the room, and that I did try to go through an door that someone excited that was connected to the unit, but did not. I did not think it was that big of an issue since the doors go to the same unit, however do understand why it would be an issue. Aaron could have approached the situation in a more professional way and spoken to myself and my sister like adults and not children. I am even more concerned that a nurse would show his agitation towards a family, how are the patients treated? Does he get irritated with them? I am also concerned that I was told I would be kicked out and not be allowed back, so now feel I cannot bring up concerns. The one is only due to the step down unit. The trauma unit and ICU would get 5. However, one person can ruin something.

Credit to the attending physician's assistant, who made the right diagnosis: BPPV (Benign Paroxysmal Positional Vertigo). Basically it's crystals rattling around in your inner ear where they're not supposed to be. A physical therapist was supposed to treat it. Instead, he did his own tests and decided that it wasn't BPPV because BPPV is supposed to be brief. So no treatment, only a recommendation to see an ENT (Ear, Nose, Throat doc). This all took 5-1/2 hours, and then my wife was sent home. Her vertigo resumed on the way home and continued the next day. So, I watched a total of 3 YouTube videos, then did my own Dix-Hallpike test, which was positive for a problem with her right ear. She did the Epley Maneuver, and it fixed her vertigo (several days now, no more symptoms). We'll be getting a large bill from the hospital, but they didn't fix anything. Instead engaging in side quests, they should focus exclusively on hiring the best people, training them well, and delivering high quality medical care at reasonable cost.

I was under the impression they had completed that and received authorization prior to my admission. I was informed later that evening that I did not actually have an approval in place but the doctors and hospital attempted to force me to go ahead with the treatment because "It should get approved, if it does not we can worry about that later." The hospital team actually told me to call my insurance to check and would not call themselves. I stood my ground, they kept refusing to discharge me until the following evening after I kept refusing treatment until it was approved. They kept me nothing by mouth (food and water) for 15 hours and did not hook me up to IV fluids, I was so dehydrated and starving when I was finally discharged. I urge everyone to go elsewhere, as they only seem to care about getting paid and not the actual patient. I have spoken to various hospital staff, without any justification for their actions. Come to find out insurance actually denied the treatment, and if PVH had their way they would have me on the hook for a minimum of $100,000. They did not listen to my wants and refused to let me dictate my own care, absolutely abhorrent treatment by administrators, doctors however the direct nursing staff was amazing and went to bat for me. I'm pretty sure the only reason I was allowed to leave was because the nurses finally got the doctor to let me leave.

She has been moved around from the PCU to the ICU and is now on the medical oncology floor. The nurses on the previous floors were super sweet to me while visiting my mom and would offer me coffee and soda and snacks and told me if i needed anything to just grab it from one of the stations. When I went to visit my mom on the 5th floor last night i brought her dinner from outside the hospital and grabbed her and myself a soda from the fridge in the cafe area in the hallway (where they typically have coffee and snacks for guests or patients) next thing i know the charge nurse is in our room lecturing us about taking stuff from there because apparently i needed to talk to her first so she can charge me properly? The sodas are off brand mini sodas that you can get at the dollar store in a pack of 24.... I'm not sure what they would even charge.. she then went on to say that she has seen me several times throughout the day grabbing stuff and that's why she felt the need to mention it. I grabbed my mom a hot chocolate earlier in the day and then I left for 8 hours to go to work and then when I came back I grabbed her and myself a soda... I left the hospital more times to go and buy actual food than I left to grab the "free" little dollar store snacks that's are supposed to be complimentary but apparently aren't. I just really didn't appreciate being lectured over a soda that cost a couple sense while visiting my dying mother in the hospital.... It was completely unnecessary and just weird. She seemed to be on a power trip over a little tiny soda that literally costs nothing.

I've really debated weather or not to write a review for this business. It's not because they are…read morenot a wonderful medical practice; indeed, its the exact opposite. Its like this: finding a great doctor is not easy, and once word gets out they tend to get busy and overbooked, which thus tends to diminish their ability to offer great service. I started going to Dr. Kurth a couple of months ago, and since that time, my partner, brother, sister-in-law, and nephew have all started going. He's a flat out, no screwing around great doctor. He spends as much time as you need him to spend with you, answers all of our crazy questions, and is a genuinely caring doctor. Every time I go in (and to avoid too much detail, lets just say I'm one of those folks with a thousand medical issues), he pretty much remembers everything about me, from my lab results to family history to current meds. He could look it up on the computer, but he rarely needs to. I usually spend about 30 minutes with him each time I go in, and longer if necessary, and I always walk away feeling great. Here's an example of a recent encounter: My nephew had been going to Fort Collins Youth Clinic, and every time he was sick they would simply say "Oh, give it a few days and he'll be fine." (this was after he had been sick for a few days already). We went to Dr. Kurth last week when the kid was sick, he gave him a shot, prescribed medications, and the kid was great the next morning. Anybody who has ever had a sick kid knows that this kind of recovery from a cold isn't the norm, but at least Dr. Kurth did something that helped instead of shrugging his shoulders and dismissing us offhand. The staff here are great as well. They've always managed to get me in same day whenever I've called. I've never waited longer than 5-10 minutes from the moment I enter the waiting room till I'm back in the exam room being seen by the doctor. I'm used to waiting 30-60 minutes or more in a doctors office, so this is a major plus in my book. If you're looking for a great doctor and medical practice, these folks are golden.

The old, CREDIBLE, "real" Banner family practice on Harmony is a DIFFERENT PRACTICE, & has…read morereportedly closed. The new Banner ER & adjacent "medical center" located on Harmony & LadyMoon Drive, is what 9 News & other media outlets have warned consumers about in late 2015. The new Banner "ER" is a freestanding, Urgent Care-type of clinic, which ends most times up being "cash only", but does not advertise this to the patient (*AKA: "PAY-tient"). I experienced everything in this review, as in all of my reviews, both positive & negative, 'first hand. Not only was my medical condition untreated, but my medical records (which are permanent & cannot be altered once an MD signs off on them) were drastically amended w/grossly negligent, false information & 'statements' from the few treating staff present. The parties accompanying me witnessed the falsity of the reported information, & are now valuable witnesses to affirm what truly happened during my visit. I strongly suspect that the amending of my patient notes/visit record occurred because I repeatedly inquired re: billing/insurance topics. I was NEVER approached by a billing representative, as happens normally in a TRUE hospital/ER setting, & was given no opportunity to present my insurance card. When I volunteered my card, it was repeatedly refused; I was told it would be addressed "later". That raised a red flag, & I remembered the report I saw on 9 news about the stand alone ER's, which are not affiliated with any REAL hospital. They frequently end up demanding cash payment, out of pocket, after a patient leaves the building, claiming insurance was never presented or accepted. I pressed on this topic, even through my pain, fever, & other symptoms, because I was highly concerned. Still, I was refused repeatedly, for the duration of my 13 hour stay. Earlier that very same day, I had an apptmt at the Banner Medical "Center", on the same campus, which is a collection of doctors' offices all under one roof. Yet oddly enough, the ER, a "sister" establishment on the same campus, w/supposedly a shared database, could not pull my records to even get my dr.'s name, notes, treatment plan...'Nothing!?! This should have readily been obtainable from my same day visit at the medical practice on the VERY same campus, w/the VERY SAME name & logo, 'literally yards away, across the lawn. I have NEVER heard of anything like this!?! When I asked for a patient advocate, I was told that no such individual exists. When I first entered, I was in so much pain that I unfortunately signed an electronic consent to treat. The minutiae of legalese cannot be read by the patient when signing this consent, only a signature line is viewable, so the "new" Banner can treat you ANY way they see fit (*meaning ordering highly expensive MRI's, X-rays, & lab work, which may well be unnecessary & end up billable out of your pocket, according to their legal contract(s), which is unavailable to the suffering patient upon entering the building). Again, I experienced this directly, as a "pay-tient" of this new Banner facility. I've since met 2 other individuals with highly similar experiences at this location. This "ER" is not the old Banner medical system that was well loved. There are many profit-based practices doing this: 'purchasing old properties (such as former Blockbuster locations) & building them into Urgent Care/instant ER's, without an legitimate, adjacent hospital, with limited staff, & absent a true hospital setting. This place is nothing like PVH nor MCR (real hospitals, real ER's). You may very well end up paying hundreds & thousands of dollars, b/c they refuse to address your insurance benefits, despite verbally stating that many insurances are accepted upon entry. I am still dealing w/billing, have reported this facility to DORA & am checking on their license. I'm constantly transferred to Arizona when I call billing, as this is a franchise (*just like Subway or anything else). It seems clearly an independent business for profit only, & patient care comes last. When I challenged them on the billing once I was lucid & realized based on observations from the parties accompanying me that it was not a credible institution, they were furious. Upon questions re: the hourly billing outpatient status, I was promptly discharged, w/out any addressing of the issue I ignorantly trusted they would treat. My medical record was amended negatively & filled w/false information, as "punishment ", I suppose (?). Apparently, avoiding a waiting period in a traditional hospital ER is worth hundreds of thousands of dollars, because that is how they justify the charges they ring up. 'Stay away! You will likely end up mortgaging your home, accruing tremendous debt, ruining your credit score, & possibly leaving untreated, with permanent remarks in your medical record from medical staff who operate in a seemingly unethical & financially motivated manner.

These people are supposed to be in healthcare -- they should be caring. No wonder this place is going under. if I could give -20 stars I would. let me give the detailed run down of my experience: -I went in with a medical issue that seemed like it could be something neurological , maybe a stroke, brain tumor, or some kind of nerve inflammation. I was having balance issues ( a symptom) , I had to be wheeled in the room and a nurse came in to hook me up to the IV, take my temperature, and all that. She was really rude! I tried to some light conversation, crack a few jokes, but they mostly ignored me.Every nurse provided "care" were super rude and neglectful!. Once, I had to use the restroom, so I asked for assitance since I was Hooked to an IV and was still having blanace issues and no one came for about 10 min. We had to ask TWICE! Another time, my husband was watching a TikTok video (Steveioe), but it sounded like it was coming from the next room so I joked and asked if it was actually Steve next door (I thought that'd be kind of cool) and the nurse replied, "NOW you're hallucinating?" I couldn't tell if it was sarcasm. These people can't take a joke! and definitely weren't taking my problems seriously. She sounded like she was accusing me of making up my symptoms. The first time I saw the doctor (she was skinny, had glasses, and brown hair slicked back in a bun), they wouldn't tell me her name. She talked down to me, and when I explained my symptoms, she acted like I was making them up. She was really condescending. I suddenly started to spasm. It was new, so I was a little worried. The nurses completely ignored it until I finally asked if there was anything they could give me to help. They gave me a low dose of Valium, but again, they acted like I was there because of a drug problem. I only asked because it helped calm my leg spasm. I figured they'd give me a muscle relaxer or something. They did a CT scan and an MRI on my brain (both came back clean, so at least there was some good news there!) But since I was still having symptoms, I was waiting for the doctor (same one) to either run more tests, refer me to a specialist, prescribe something, or at least give me some advice or a referral to someone who could help. The issue could have been my nerves?? She didn't do ANY of that. Instead, she suggested... Ibuprofen. IBUPROFEN. Like, what?! When I called her out on it (okay, I admit my tone wasn't great, but I didn't curse her out or anything), she got mad and just walked away while I was trying to talk to her about MY HEALTH. This was the worst experience I have ever had in ANY PLACE. IBUPROFEN?!?! WHICH MEDICAL SCHOOL ALLOWED YOU TO GET A LICENSE ARE THEY THAT DESPERATE??!!

I will wait at least 45 minutes to an hour and ask again. It takes me asking at least 3 times if not more for them to come clean me up. Consequently I have a rash now from sitting in urine.
