Traditional pub serving food and real ale, close to Worthing town centre.
The pub dates back to 1814 and has a fittingly traditional interior, with brick and dark wood panelled walls, and pictures featuring fox and stag hunting.
There's one main room wrapped around three sides of a central bar, and a small outdoor area at the rear.
They serve a range of traditional real ales, and a fairly standard pub grub menu (sandwiches, chips, baked potatoes, burgers, cottage pie, lasagne, chicken, omelettes etc) are served daily at lunchtimes, and Tuesday to Thursday evenings.
Prices are pretty good - most mains are £7-£9 - and there is a 2 for £10 evening offer on selected items.
On Sunday there is a traditional roast for £9 but there are lighter options including vegetarian and fish dishes.
The pub has both regular quiz nights and live jazz evenings.
