I've gone to Harding Nursery for years. I've bought a few trees, had them plant some of the larger ones which all did well and have planted some of the smaller ones myself. At first glance their delivery prices seem a little on the high side, but the excellent value of the trees makes the total cost very fair. We were looking at multiple cherry trees this Spring and found some nice ones at Rick's but price seemed high and the way that they were planted was going to make transportation difficult. We found slightly smaller, but almost the same size trees at Harding and they were in pails so I was able to lay them down in my SUV easily without breaking up the root ball. My savings was about $100 per tree! Our usual purchases are not trees, of course, but we find their selection of bedding rose plants excellent and the staff is very knowledgeable. read more

I spent over $10,000 on 20 pine trees -- 2 died within 30 days & they would not give any sort of refund / rebate saying because we bought them through a landscaper that was our problem. read more

Buyer Beware.. even though you spend $7,000 on trees, delivery and install does not guarentee that they will put the tree where you put the flag! No guarentee that they will survive. Refused to move tree that they put in wrong spot and replace the dead one.. She came out finally after months of complaining and said "that's unfortunate" planted with burlap and metal wire still over root ball. If you must purchase from this establishment make sure you supervise the installation and remember they don't care if your tree dies within the 1 year time period. Your on your own. In my conversation with other nurseries: "You should remove parts of the metal basket when transplanting a tree to prevent future problems: Cut and remove wire: Cut the wire from around the trunk and top third of the root ball. Remove top half of basket: Once the tree is in the hole and the root ball is stabilized with soil, remove the top half of metal." read more

In the past this nursery had great quality plants at reasonable prices. The are helpful and know the right application for plants to thrive. I was there today picking up some flowers for planters and when I got to checkout , I could not pay the bill. The prices are so incredibly out of snyc with the rest of the garden centers I shop at. We all realize that most items cost more but profit taking at the expense of the folks who have supported the nursery for a long time is not acceptable to me. I went elsewhere and bought the same 2.5" pots for 1$ less per pot , I had about 40 plants that I left in the cart. Harding folks , remember your community that got you here. JS read more

We love shopping at this nursery, they have a variety of flowers, plants and trees that we can choose from. We are regulars there. However, I saw most the staff are wearing masks below their nose and chin and not wearing gloves, it makes me feel they're not prioritizing health and safety. It is my hope that they will prioritize soon for the sake of those who chose not to get vaccinated. I'd hate to lose another loved one. read more

Would not warranty my schrub after 10 days! I recently purchase a dwarf burning bush that infected by some disease or fungus making leaves turn brown gradually. I purchase two of the same schrub on 6-10-2020, the other is doing great they're about 5 feet apart per attached pictures. I brought the schrub in on 6-20-2020 for an easy exchange, but was told with some attitude (not the norm to bring in plant) to bring it in from my car. Camilla (cashier) made me wait again for another 15 minutes. Camilla tells me that scrubs was still alive and that I would have wait until schrub to die for her to warranty it since they are still leaves on it. I explain that my experience with dwarf burning bushes is that they never recover when they get infected, I just wanted to exchange for healthy one. Camilla made me feel like she was blowing me off and gave me no options or fix to care or this plant. We know that any other business like lowes or home depot would of allowed this exchange, but not Harding's. I have enjoy coming to Harding over 15 years, but it only takes one bad experience to erase all that.. fact is that I bought the same schrub so they would grow evenly, but if I wait a year to find out what I already know (plant will die) I will no longer have schrubs that evenly match in size. I'm not penny pincher so I will make my last purchase for another dwarf burning bush at harding's to replace the sick one... guess what there all dead see my pictures.. still no one from harding's has reached out to resolve. We stumbled upon this awesome place today - - and found it to be wonderful!! Their selection of trees was amazing....the employees were more than caring - and very helpful. The Christmas shop was cozy - - and offered free cookies and cider! ( along with wonderful Christmas decor! ) Will recommend you head here! Great spot!!!!! read more

My family bought several tree's from here and even had one professionally installed, all 4 have died while our Lowe's trees have thrived. We recently pulled up the tree that was installed and there was a steel cage, and burlap that choked the tree, the roots could not break through out of the root ball and the metal was developing rust all over the cage. When we went and showed the owner she was very adamant that this practice was not bad for the trees and after a long argument replaced the $600.00 tree/install with a $200 credit that would cover a sapling, which we did get. Overall I would suggest not getting trees from them unless you plan on doing it yourself and even then to be very careful as the trees don't seem to acclimate well. read more

I have been to this nursery, many times, everything I have purchased I have enjoyed. Staff has been very helpful, Grace was extremely knowledgeable about all the product I asked her about. While I was there, it began to rain/hail, and Grace was amazingly helpful by bringing me an umbrella. I definitely will go back to them in the future. read more

I love businesses like this. So I my son had been wanting a Venus fly trap. I got him some seeds and now I just needed a small amount of potting soil not a huge bag. I was heading home from work and I'm a hurry. I stopped at Harding nursery and asked an employee if I could get just a pint of potting soil for a Venus fly trap for my sons room. I told her I couldn't find anywhere I could buy just a small amount. She was very friendly and just grabbed some from a pot they weren't using anymore. I know I was t getting anything big, but it was the fact that the employee took the time to hear me out and find a solution for me. I will be in the market for six trees and will need them planted and my brother will be doing 3 times that many large trees at his new house. It's this kind of simple good service that I remember from a business that will make me a customer for life and keep me coming. PS. I got that little bit of soil about 2 months ago and the seeds of the Venus fly trap are now growing. My son is very excited. read more

They can help you determine whether a particular tree will thrive in your location, so you know if you should buy that $300 tree you love .. (2) They will plant the tree for you.. Trust me, if you're investing in a large tree, have it planted by professionals. They plant it, stake it, and leave you with instructions on watering it. Follow the instructions! I bought 2 trees for $600, then had to pay $500 to plant. One was dying approx. 4 weeks after planting. Called they requested I send pics, which I did, they stated tree was not receiving enough water, I was following their guideline, I ask for them to come out and look at the tree. Harding refused stating since virus, they don't come out to review trees. I will not be returning and will never recommend. read more

While visiting our daughter we noticed so many beautiful and colorful plants in their neighborhood and she immediately recommended this nursery. After a few minutes there we realized why, they are a serious full scale nursery. They not only sell plants (like home goods stores) but they grow them and are very knowledgeable about them. The staff was friendly, helpful and more than willing to 'talk plants' with us. So much better than when you shop at big town retail chains and ask someone a question only to watch them pull the tag off the plant or bucket and read it to you. This place reminds me of many nurseries I've done business with over the years. They are large enough to handle professional landscapers but also willing to offer services to individuals as well. read more

Went into the store for a quote on something to be built for us, we gave specifications and we're told someone would call in a few days. 3 weeks later I called and left a message we had not heard anything. A representative called back and stated " I don't know why you didn't just pick up the phone and get your quote, we are super busy around here." We have purchased several thousand dollars of items from Harding nursery. A few lived, but most died. Our most recent expenditure was over $1200 for Juniper trees. We paid for them to plant them and they died. They replaced them but after two weeks they were struggling. We called them and followed the instructions just as we always have for watering, etc. In another week they were dead completely dead. Never again. read more

So I decided to do my entire backyard since my house is a new construction and design it myself. On every corner I planted a tree and looking for a nursery I came across this one. The prices are a bit high, but not sure if that is normal since I never been tree shopping. Everyone was super helpful and customer service was great. I don't know much about trees and they were very nice to explain things to me and what is good for my area and what is not. read more

This is a huge place and it felt a little confusing to me but the people working were really helpful. I loved the rose houses- it was heavenly seeing and smelling all the beautiful and different roses. I picked out three (and a bunch of perennials) but when I went to check out the great young woman helping me mentioned that I chose roses that didn't have their own roots so they might not do well here in Colorado. I was bummed because I loved what I chose but so thankful that she told me, since these are the first plants I'm trying to grow since moving to Colorado. She walked me to a whole other rose house where there were mostly shrub roses- also very beautiful- and ones that have their own roots. She was able to answer my questions and asked for help when she didn't know the answer. I appreciated her help and the help of the man who helped me to my car and loaded my car in the pouring rain! This is a beautiful place with a huge selection and sometimes they have sales and coupons (but unfortunately I was a day early and didn't realize it and they wouldn't honor the sale). Not the best place for homeowners to venture all the way South. Staff was just ok and I understand its warm outside but grumpy when needing to venture out into the field. Trees were mostly tagged for big landscape or development companies. Overall the plants and flowers did not look in good shape but were still full pricing which seemed high to begin with. The staff was excellent and very helpful. I have a shade area and sunny area and they helped me with both.

The plants are seriously overpriced and the customer service is in decline. The last person who helped me seemed unable to distinguish annuals from perennials. Also, although there is supposedly a 1 year guarantee on most plants, I was treated very rudely when I went in to exchange a plant that had withered and lost all it's leaves within the first few days after purchase. The manager couldn't be bothered to speak with me, and her employee accused me of abuse and neglect, actually saying that the plant's condition was my fault. As an experienced gardener with a showcase yard, I was very insulted. I had never returned a plant there before. Needless to say, I will not be returning. read more

Horrible experience. Bought a tree about three weeks ago from here, scheduled to be delivered today. Went to show my father the tree two weeks ago and it was moved and sitting out of the ground with no protection or water. We were told it would be put in the ground in another location until delivery day. Fast forward to today. Delivery shows up and plants the wrong tree, much less healthy looking and not symmetrical at all. We give them a call and they say they had some trouble finding the tree this morning but they did indeed find it and plant the right one (flat out lie). We were on our way to the nursery and when we got there immediately found our tree in the exact same location out of the ground and with no protection for the roots. There were multiple tags on the tree with our name on it. They are switching out the tree today with our original so now we get to wait and see if it will survive or if any damage will occur from the lack of water and root protection for two weeks straight. When you pay several hundred dollars for a tree this is not the quality of service you should receive. read more
