I honestly hadn't had Hardee's since I worked there in Tallahassee back in 1986. I just remembered how much I liked their burgers back in the day. I always passed the location before Dayton when traveling, but learned there was a location in south Columbus and definitely had to try it. My wife and I pulled in and ordered two separate burgers (for the life of me, I/we can't remember what she ordered. The drive-through moved pretty quickly, which is a good thing because being pandemic time, we couldn't dine in. We pulled over with our meals, sharing our burgers to sample each. Again, I can't remember what she had, nor did we take a picture, but my burger was fantastic. I had the Frisco Angus burger (A 1/3 lb. charbroiled 100% black angus beef patty, crispy bacon, melted Swiss cheese, tomato, and mayonnaise, served on toasted sourdough) and it scored on all levels: Taste, texture, temperature, after-taste and "freshness". I'm particular about how the cheese tastes when melted and definitely was not disappointed. The fries were pretty good, but nothing spectacular. The real star was the sandwich. I got a Chicken BLT sandwich just the sandwich I thought it was very tasty. The bacon crispy and the toppings fresh I very much enjoyed it. My wife got the mushroom Swiss burger she said it tasted like Salisbury steak but not in a good way. Our best friend got a star burger she ordered no pickles no mustard you could tell they made a mistake and put pickles and mustard on it before wiping it off and dousing it with ketchup. You could still smell the pickles and mustard. The burgers were very salty and the fries even had more salt. I tried the fries and I would say they would have been very good if not so salty. This was my first time having Hardee's and I want to give them another try so I found one closer to me 42 minutes away in Burbank Ohio. I have faith in you Hardee's don't let me down! Wowzers! For a long time, I would have to go to Circleville or Mount Vernon for my Hardee's fix. I was in shock to find out there was finally a Hardee's in Columbus. Despite it is in South Columbus, I was given great service from the staff of Hardee's. I got the Double Cheeseburger Sliders, small fries, a small drink (half Coca-Cola Zero Sugar and other half Diet Dr. Pepper), and a chocolate chip cookie. Next time, I will upsize my combo with a medium or large. I will return to this Hardee's until more stores open in the Columbus area. Nothing about the overall chain but this particular location is garbage. Took nearly 25 minutes to get 2 combo meals when we were the only car in the drive thru. The only reason why they need to have people move up past the window is because their service is so incredibly slow. It's not like being able to have the next car pay is really going to speed up the line. I regret going to this location because I never had issues with Carl's Jr. back in California. I'd rather have them close this location and not have it as an option because at least then I wouldn't be disappointed as hell. read more

Decided to try this location for delivery. Usually go to the one in circleville which always does an awesome job. This building is new and always busy. On delivery The food was accurate hot and fresh. The Soda had the right formula and was refreshing. All my special requests were met to a T. Condiments, plastic ware etc etc. No surprises , no alarms and no drama. Exactly what you want from a good hearty burger meal. read more

Despite having the best burgers in the city, the service at this restaurant is abysmal. Every time I come here it looks like they have maybe 2 or 3 people working. If you are waiting to take your order at the counter, they will take order after order after order from the drive through before they will take yours. Today was no exception - NINETEEN MINUTES BEFORE EVEN TAKING OUR ORDER!!! I've been here several times lately and it seems every single time they get our order wrong, even down to leaving out sandwiches completely. Once when doing that, they told us to come back the next day and they would replace our order. When we got here, they not only didn't want to do that, they acted like it was the most ridiculous thing in the world even ask, even though we had called ahead of time and confirmed that that would be all right. A message was left in the manager's office. Their operating hours are inconsistent, their lobby hours are inconsistent,their staff is rude. In the three or four times I've been there, I don't think I have ever seen anyone actually handed their food in the drive though without being parked. As I sit here now, after fifteen minutes, with four other parked cars, and a drive through line (that formed after I got here) wrapped half way around the building, I am sad and full of regret for coming here again. This is truly the worst drive through mess I have ever been a part of. The owners should be sad as well for hiring the worst fast food management in the history of fast food. I doesn't get any worse. I should have checked the reviews before trying this place. I was in the area and had never tried Hardee's so wanted to give it a shot. I order a 2 piece kids meal with fries and a soda and my receipt said it was at 1:14pm. I did not receive my order until approximately 1:42pm. Yes I waited almost 30 mins, while 3 cars behind me got their orders first. When I mentioned this to the employee he said they were understaffed and it was "confusing" which order came first. I'm not sure how it could be confusing? Isn't that fast food 101? They did ask all the cars to pull forward or into a parking space also which I don't usually like especially if there aren't cars behind plus that means I already paid. They did give me larger size chicken tenders and fries than I ordered but still not okay. The taste of the food was fine, nothing special. Don't see myself returning to this location. No apology or anything, instead I got attitude. I almost wanted a refund but didn't want to waste more time. Surprised to see only one location in Columbus. Located in the "dirty south " off high street close to the wal mart. I was never a fan of white castle and have heard many good things about their burgers. Their menu has many options and combinations I have not seen at other fast food chains. Service was quick, food was good for fast food, had a different taste compared to Wendy's, burger king or McDonald's. I loved their fries...good taste like McDonald's but not as oily which reminded me of burger king. This is a new location. However, they will not be around long with their attitude, and the fact that they have equipment not working. They don't allow substitution, fine. But, not allowing substitutions when THEY ARE OUT OF A PARTICULAR PRODUCT, IGNORANT and POOR BUSINESS PRACTICE. Other businesses that are out of THEIR product allows a substitution. But, instead of making the substitution, making money, and keeping customers happy they choose to still not allow a substitution, lost the sale, and a customer. Way to ensure your business stays around for a long time. Make sure when you open a new store, you open it with working equipment and keep enough product coming in, or allow people to make a substitution when you cannot deliver a product when you don't have YOUR products. read more

I had been craving some Hardee's for a while. So I decided to take my mom and son there after a long afternoon of Easter Egg hunting. When I got there I saw they had a Grilled Bacon Cheeseburger advertised. The picture clearly showed the cheese, but there was a white substance that I could not quite make out. So I asked the cashier what the white "stuff" was. She gave off the impression that she was either new or just simply not too knowledgeable about their menu. But she advised me that it was mayonnaise. So I ordered that and my mother and son's food. I added a side of Fruit Loop donuts, simply because I know my son would get a kick out of them. Well upon getting my order I was immediately confused, because my "Grilled" Bacon Cheeseburger toast looked very pale, as if it wasn't toasted at all. I gave it a shot anyway and decided that it was not worth the calories. Oh yeah and by the way it did not have mayonnaise on it, there was no type of sauce on it. That white substance I inquired about was white american cheese. After giving up on the sandwich, I tried the fries. They weren't very hot or even warm, just some plain Jane sad fries. I figured we were at 2 strikes at this point so I went for the donuts, the texture was a bit hard but I took a bite anyway. And sure enough old hard donuts, that I would bet a $100 were prepared the day before. After taking the disappointing bite I decided 3 strikes and Hardee's was out. I went up to the counter and advised the clueless cashier that the donuts tasted old and I would like a fresh batch or my money back. She stated that she would replace them for me. I watched her walk back to a plastic see-thru container and grab another box. I figured maybe this was a fresher batch. WRONG! This was another batch of sorry ass donuts. I figured when they called them Fruit Loop donuts, they were comparing them to the flavor and not the actual texture of dry Fruit Loop cereal. As I sat there completely disappointed with my life choice of picking this establishment for lunch my mother tried one of the donuts and immediately said she was going to speak to the manager. At that point I was done and figured I'd chalk it up as a $2 loss, but my momma wasn't going for that. She asked the cashier to speak to the manager, well the manager appeared and my mother advised her of the situation. She then asked the manager for a refund, the manger advised her that she could not issue a refund without her GM's approval. Keep in mind this is a $2 refund. Well if she thought that my mother was going to go for that foolishness, she had another thing coming. Momma requested that she call her GM to get approval to issue the refund, the manager walked away and called her GM. Long story short we got the refund. The restaurant also was not very clean. The floors were sticky and the tables hadn't been washed down. This was disappointing being that my initial trip to this location when they opened was much better. I guess with time, this location has taken a turn for the worse. The only thing decent about this experience was the fact that they had HI-C Orange Lavaburst on tap (which McDonald's carelessly removed from their menu). It will be a cold day in the Sahara desert before I come back to this location, well that is unless I get a craving for some Orange Lavaburst! "Grilled" Bacon Cheeseburger 1-5=0. Fries 1-5=1. I have eaten at this Hardee's a handful of times, each time hoping that it will be better. Unfortunately it has only gotten worse each time, over the course of two-three years. I genuinely believe this is the worst Hardee's location. And I would definitely not recommend visiting it. I'll start by saying, I know working fast food sucks. I know that people/business have off days and that shit happens. I especially know that EVERYWHERE is experiencing staffing shortages. But with this location it is the same thing every time. It's an every day occurrence of bad service and food quality. I made a yelp account to review this place because it is so bad. We pulled in to this location, right before 4pm. Only car in line, ordered rather quickly as another car pulled in behind us. Once we got up to the window, the girl taking our order was unfriendly. No big deal, again, it happens. We pay and wait for our food. After waiting several minutes she comes back to ask if we had a chocolate shake. We did not, we had ordered two burgers; a fry and a coke. She disappears again. We did not receive our food until almost exactly 4:30. 30min for our food. Which she shoved at us and didn't say anything. No apology about the wait or anything. We brush that off, must just be short staffed or having a hard day. We park to eat our food. The fries are completely cold and stale, my burger was so burnt it was inedible and my bun was so soggy it fell apart. Neither of our sandwiches were even close to warm. Visited three times to and from my second job, first for breakfast after work and only one employee working. She wasn't happy as I wouldn't be either working alone but she gave great service despite being the only one there to prep. Second time at 9:45pm and took to long and it looks like only one or two employees and the burger tasted to much like Burger King which I didn't like. The next weekend I visited before close Sunday to get something before work and they said they were closed and it wasn't even 10pm. I ordered the Mushroom and Swiss burger and fries at the drive-thru window and it was disappointing. The "toasted" bun was burnt and the mushrooms nearly non-existent.
