I didn't have enough cash on me so he started the machines for me that way I can go to the ATM to pull out cash. (The ATM is just a door down). He provided the detergent and was super friendly. I would totally come again. The price is super reasonable as well. £5 for the washer and £1 per 8 minutes for the dryer.

I did the old Google search and Pablo's jumped off of the page with great reviews. How could I resist? An added bonus was the it was very close to our hotel. I grabbed my laundry bag, slung it over my shoulder, and headed towards Pablo's. Upon entering, I sized up the place fairly quickly and the gentleman (Pablo, I'm guessing) approached me and he offered up the most efficient way to get my laundry done. Sadly, I had no British pounds (US dollars, Euros, and a handful of credit cards). The machines need British coins. He grabbed a bag of coins, deposited them into my machine, got my laundry going, and instructed me to go to the cash machine (literally 2 doors down) to pay for my laundry. I had 2 weeks of laundry, probably 8 or so kilos and the total for everything was 15 pounds. Not terrible at all! I spent most of my time looking at all of the pictures on the walls and reading the descriptions. The hospitality was as good as it gets. It is refreshing when you get to interact with someone who is great at what they do and is so personable. I can't say enough great things.

However, Selly Oak is populated by a large number of student residents and it is mainly them that make use of a service such as Sam's. This place is cheap and as cheerful as an establishment such as this can be and the people who run the business are friendly. The owners are on hand to help out with any queries that hapless students such as myself may have. So on the whole a solid business providing a service that has become increasingly rare.

I had a huge pile of washing that really needed to be done and began to panic that I would run out of clothes to wear! I quickly Googled local laundrettes and found that this place was a five minute walk from my home. It was the best news ever! I gathered my clothes into a black bag and headed straight down there. When I got there I found that it was fairly cheap and the machines were pretty simple to use - well, if you have used a laundrette machine before. The people that ran the laundrette were in there when I went in and we exchanged pleasantries. I did not need any assistance, but I if I did they seemed approachable and I would have asked. It was quite busy in there so I guess it is a popular place too.

The shuitters are opened up on the morning and should close at 7pm but usually shutters are shut around 6.40pm onwards. I went in recently due to a weekend downpour of rain....I put money in 1 dryrer and it came up with 'clean lint' message....obviously nobody there to help so tried to refund my money - no chance! Tried with a 2nd dryer - same scenario and message - no refund Been up 3 times for a refund (which costs more in petrol than the bloody refund) - keep getting excuses about the boss needs to check cctv then oh there was no money in there!!!! I have 2 witnesses who were in there with me - they claim to have CCTV - common sense question why have I gone 3 times when petrol costs more than refund??? ITS THE BLOODY MORAL. Going to complain further if anybody knows who owner is please advise me. A husband and wife open and lock up - once the husband told me he is the owner and it used to belong to his parents and all the machines they had altered for new pound coins - then the wife says shes in charge - know she's backtracked to say its not her but there is an 'owner'. I smell a rat. Rant over and a word of advise go to Quarry Bank Launderette!! cleaner, bigger, staff in all day, clear CCTV cameras and more helpful.
