As a sullen teen I was forced to play golf at school - whilst all my other mates were doing things like metalwork or kayaking or (and I was really jealous of this because it was classroom based) philosophy I was being shouted at in the rain by a lady in shell-suit. With memories like this I guess it says something about Harborne Golf Club that I am actually reviewing it at all but this is a classy place.
Firstly the green is absolutely beautiful - this may sound rather obvious but their grass is so green it almost looks unreal. I also rather like the fact that part way through the course golfers have to cross a path (by Orchard Pets) to get to the next bit - there's also a walkway that you can take right through the middle of it which eventually takes you to the Welsh House Farm estate (the latter not recommended)
There's also a very decent club house that can be hired - I've been a couple of times and it's a nice space with lovely views.
Word of warning though if you wear denim you get moaned at. There's a small but well stocked bar and the food is pretty decent. read more
