By the time I realized what was happening and started making calls, the docs' office was on lunch. The lunch service said they'd contact the doc. Because it was now it was time for my kid's pain meds, I asked what I was supposed to do, and the lunch service said they didn't know. They were just a receptionist. I called the doctor's office again and the triage line was busy. It was now 30 minutes after the time I was supposed to give pain meds, so I called the scheduling folks. Tanisha was AMAZING and actually started the process of getting the doctor to sign my kid's pain meds. The problem now is that all the pharmacies were closed for lunch. The doc office had no solutions for how to control my kid's pain and the office manager got snippy with me when I asked. This is an absolute failure of a medical practice. In addition, my daughter is also a patient of theirs and on the first day of her surgery, I had questions regarding a prescription the take home pages said she needed but hadn't been called into the pharmacy. It took 3 calls over a 36 hour period for someone to call me back. The docs may be good, but the service is TERRIBLE!!!!

Took 5 months to schedule my son's surgery and now they won't without another appointment because they ignored me for 5 months and failed to do their job. Dr. Azkoul and his staff are trash. Go somewhere else. Anywhere else. Avoid Grand Rapids ENT at all costs.

It is because of Dr. Linda that I am functional and feel well once again today after spending half my life bedridden with the worst pain imaginable only to be misdiagnosed by every "expert" under the sun. Dr. Linda was the first person to correctly diagnose me after 15 years of failed attempts with other doctors. Thank you Dr. Linda from the bottom of my heart for helping me. You are an angel. It is because of you that I am still alive today and feel good after many many long hard years of suffering. I owe my wellness to her. Big shout out to the wonderful staff also. Amy was very kind and helpful to me. Nancy is very nice and helpful as well. With love from Dane in CA.

I wish I had been able to continue addressing my health problems with Dr. Hegstrand, but we relocated across the country. I haven't been able to find ANYONE like her out here in the West. The only thing they seem to know how to do out here with thyroids is drug 'em up, rip 'em out, then drug you up for the rest of your life. This woman supported me - from across the country - with the thyroid hormone that I needed to maintain a pregnancy. To her I give all credit for the beautiful, loving, sunshine of a child who just lights up our lives.

No real theological growth in sermons or "discipleship" groups (Sunday School classes) that meet before the service. Community is friendly enough, but there isn't really maturity or willingness to address anything that should be addressed, no attention to things that should be given attention. For all their talk of "unity", they seem to only have unity in that no one dares dissent or stand out due to fear of being called divisive. Real unity is different voices and personalities being able to work together with a shared foundation in Scripture and a shared goal of Christ. These guys...they're a good ol' boys club who think unity means "chemistry" with them and that you "Just listen and learn" instead of try to engage or get anything done. Leadership will tell you about how to do leadership, while themselves failing to do basic things like understand the person they're speaking to, be willing to "listen and learn" from people, etc. How can you place yourself under leadership that gives you no reason to have confidence in them? They "know how to do ministry"...except when they obviously don't. They think ministry is running a business, and they think unity is not upsetting the deacons. Hah. Deacons. If the deacons were fit for leadership, there wouldn't be any, since deacons are servants in the church, not leaders, and the deacons here are not qualified to be leaders (elders/pastors). Typical bureaucratic structure. Head deacon said that it takes 10 years for any organization to do a significant change, so it sounds like they won't be expecting any real change for 10 years. So the superficial teaching, the lackluster worship, the unbiblical and unqualified leadership, the constitution that the church doesn't actually hold to when it isn't convenient to...that'll all be around for a decade, I guess. Disappointing. A squandered opportunity. A church full of people who know more and are more willing to be guided and challenged than just about any church I've been to, but the leadership has so badly mismanaged such a wonderful resource. To paraphrase Frankly in 1776, "Never was such a valuable possession so stupidly and recklessly managed, than this entire congregation by the failed deaconate." At the end of the day, my advice is not to come here. You could certainly meet some people to grow your social circle, but worship, learning, growth, ability to function as a church, to contribute...not here. I would never invite people here if they were looking for those things. Just if they wanted a friendly place to sit in the pew and shut up every Sunday and get invited over for dinners every now and then. UPDATE: The leadership has doubled and tripled down on disobedience to Scripture and to their own constitution. The head deacon has lied directly to me several times now. One deacon's own wife admits her husband doesn't really know Scripture and comes to her with his questions. With the leadership in sin, and unqualified for the task according to any standard, what hope is there for restoration of this church? The unfortunate congregation is more faithful to their church than the leadership is to God's Word, and it is painful to see them abused in this way. And while leadership is willing to negatively review their own members with factually inaccurate statements and no Scripture to back them up, they are quite sensitive to negative reviews of their church on Yelp. I didn't even name names, though only out of graciousness, not moral obligation. These are the sorts of folks you don't want to be on the wrong side of -- they'll "love" you right out of town. Due to the persistent sin and disobedience of the leadership, I should leave one final comment: Since leadership is limited to men, it is a given that the men must be manly. Effeminate men are disqualified men, and are commanded by Scripture to "grow some". Men who lie, disobey Scripture, conspire in darkness and wait in ambush, circle the wagons to defend their cabal instead of being held accountable...such men are not men, but are limp-wristed boys playing at church. They are more fit for tutus than for the armor of war, and their followers will likewise be untrained for battle. The enemy must be ecstatic. A concluding thought from A. W. Pink: "My earnest advice is for you to have little or nothing to do with the people of the religious world today. They cannot help you spiritually, and where they help not they are bound to hinder!" UPDATE AGAIN: After a year, I reached out to a number of the leaders of the church and repeated my belief that they behaved "contrary to love, wisdom, Scripture, and the constitution. Since I still have this against you, and since I still hope for reconciliation, it seemed like a good time to reach out again." Not one of them has given me the decency of any response at all. Children.
