This was my second time trying this nail salon. I wanted to love it because it really is very pretty inside and the atmosphere is very relaxing. However, I probably won't go back. I had a pedicure and manicure and four different techs worked on my nails throughout the visit. I would think that isn't great for Covid precautions as is, but also I think it made my manicure worse because I don't think they communicated about what they had done when they passed me off. Also, SO painful! I am not that ticklish but I was squirming in my chair as the lady scraped my feet and shoved that sharp thing under my toenails. My shellac manicure turned out terrible. They didn't shape my nails at all and it looks like a 6 year old painted my nails- it's embarrassing. And the shellac is now peeling off just 5 days later. At the end, the tech spilled hot wax on my shoes which I had to later throw away because I couldn't get it off. The shoes were old and I'm pretty easy going so didn't make a big deal about that, but I'm sure some people would. All this for over $100. I feel taken, was trying to have a relaxing time and just feel more stressed over the experience. Won't be back. read more

Walked in right after opening, and they were pleasant, and friendly. The place got packed quickly, and everyone seemed to know what they were doing. Normally, at a nail shop, someone starts on your nails and someone else finishes them. Not at this place. Only one person worked on my nails. This will be my now place that I get my nails done. I have just moved to the area, and have tried a couple of places and really didn't like them. I will drive out of my way, when I find someplace that I like. read more

Very perplexed by this nail salon. I've been twice and my nails have turned out great but the service was disappointing. Last time a young girl with a hello kitty tattoo gave me a pedicure and REALLY hurt me: using the electric file/grinder thing to sand down my old gel manicure. She blustered over my cuticles and skin and when I cried ouch, she didn't apologize. Just kept on being careless. This next time, same person and a young man simultaneously gave pedi/mani which was very uncomfortable and I was afraid I was going to get electrocuted from the gel machine falling into the pedicure bath as it was balanced precariously on my lap! He also had a terrible worrisome cough and was coughing constantly and had to stop to go spit or something. Very disturbing... They don't give good massages either. Both youngsters seemed very vapid and disinterested in customer satisfaction and I'm not one to say anything being an introvert but I sure noticed their disdain for what they were doing...Hmmm... read more

After being a customer of Happy Nails in Sleater Kinney Plaza for years, I contracted an infection from a dirty instrument that cut me and they refused to do anything to mend the situation. I incurred almost $1000 between medical bills and inability to work for two days; they did NOTHING. I loved the girl (Sammy) who did my nails for all those years but after that fiasco, I stopped going, as well as dozens of my coworkers and friends. Very disappointed with them. read more

I'm not sure what happen, but they have stopped removing the calluses on the bottom of my feet and the last two times I went in I could not get either one of the ladies that I have always liked in the past that did such a great job. I got instead a couple older lazy women that are more interested in watching the other and how they are doing instead of giving me a good pedicure. I went back twice and got the same treatment both times. They lost me as a customer and I will not be back. Not happy with happy nails. I was a walk-in and they saw me right away. Mia did a good job getting the nude like natural color I wanted. Double coat too. I also got a nice shoulder massage. A plus in my book:) place looks renovated and nice. However, gel nail polish chipped within a few days. I've definitely had better. Gel nail polish is supposed to last at least 1-2 weeks if your nail manicurist does a fine job. This one didn't. read more

I got acrylic nails with regular polish and on their board it says it would cost $25, but I ended up having to pay $31 because I wanted my shaped the "coffin" shape. This shape is apparently $6 extra which I was not informed about. At Tspa or other nail salons I've been too they never charged me an additional fee for a nail shape. The whole time the lady was asking me if I wanted gel and I said no about 5 times. When she finally let me do regular nail polish, she did an awful job, she did one coat of color and no top coat. I have never had a bad experience at Happy Nails. They are always of great service and pleasant. Even when they are busy they work hard to service everyone in a timely manner and ensure you are comfortable. I have gone to several other places within Lacey and Olympia without the same attention to detail or the amount of time spent on you. There's times when the customer service doesn't seem too great, though I feel that has to do a lot with the language barrier and that they get so busy. I have visited Happy Nails 6-7 times over the past 2 years, even bringing a friend and they have been pretty good! Not again. Mani pedi last night was awful. Most painful pedicure of my life and the technician did not seem to care. (They don't have to hurt---last pedi just 6 weeks ago at a similar salon up north was a delight). Indulged in a mani last night also and 3 nails already chipped. Regular mani should go 3 days without chipping. Sad as I have an event tonight and not the same color at home. I won't be back to this place. Service very indifferent and skills seem to be lacking. read more

Never again. The first trip I was happy with my nails but a mani pedi took 2 and a half hours! My chair was broken and there was a massage ball poking me in the back. Not relaxing at all. So much for a quick trip... I decided to try again..... I asked if my color I was choosing was solid or clear and she told me solid... And it was translucent... The woman was nice enough to add a base coat but then somehow got me covered in nail polish! My hands, arms, pants, watch.. There were splatters everywhere. She sprayed me down with nail polish remover and got it all over my watch- I asked for a towel to wipe my watch as it was eating away at the finish and she didn't understand me and got mad at me! I was nice and kept trying to assure HER it was ok and that accidents happen. I was trying to be compassionate. Then she put a magazine in my lap with the old gel lamps. I was also getting a pedicure so the magazine kept slipping and the metal of the lamp was hot and burning my hand. I asked if we could get something harder or a table... She told me I was fine. I showed her the red line on my hand from the now visible burn and she stormed out of the shop! The very sweet girl doing my toes (no complaints to her-she was awesome) made her come back and "finish my massage" which was basically her beating me. I said no thanks. Again the process took 2.5 hours pushing to 3 and I left with a red burn mark on my hand, a sleepy ass and a bruise on my back. Never again! *edit: and the tv.... I went to relax and they played criminal minds the ENTIRE TIME. It was a show about a serial killer who raped and tortured women and then chained this girl two the floor. Really enjoy this place! It's clean, they give great pedicures with multiple massages and you can't beat the prices. They're my go-to place.

Don't go there, no matter how convenient the location is. I brought my 8 year old niece in for her very 1st Mani/Pedi here and I'm sad to say it was an unpleasant visit. To sum it up, they were jammed packed; they just pointed to the empty pedi seat and told us to sit there; we sat with our feet in the pedi water for about half an hour before we got worked on; and worst of all, my niece's fingers got nipped!! 4 FINGERS WERE BLEEDING!!! At times like these, I wish I was more out spoken because I honestly don't think I should have paid for her manicure. (Praying her fingers don't get infected!) I am never coming back. Poor job on the paint job as well. I don't know how they get so many people in when the customer service is horrible. read more

I just got my eyebrows done. It was empty in there, so there was no reason for them to rush. They burned the living hell out of my face, and I'm now getting blisters above my eyes. They totally botched my eyebrows, did not cut them evenly at all. I am not happy. I've heard nothing but good things about this place, and I'm not impressed. Don't go here for waxing. read more

They made me wait 50 minutes, with my feet in cold water, for a pedicure. When someone did finally come, she was trying to up-sale me on additional treatments the entire time...manicure, gel, waxing, flowers. At one time this salon seemed very customer service orientedit has definitely changed....I always tipped very well....as in if I had a mani pedi with salt scrub that was $32 total I would leave a total of$45 to $50.....then I was waiting and Kelli who was awesomeat pedicures took other people coming through the door and worked onthem as I waited with my feet soaking......I finally said I had to go....(15 minutes of waiting with feet soaking) Another time a man did the pedicure....slopped a cold towel on my legs to wipethem off....and ran off to the next customer without so much as a thank you! They use a callous shaver and do not wash or sterilize it after use...they just shave and tossit back in the drawer....that was it for me.....the customer service,once awesome went downhill.....the quality went down hill and I agree with the other review...it's a infection waiting to happen! read more

I would give this place zero stars if I could! My sister and I went and got Mani peti with a full set of pink and white and two days after my nails started chipping from the base up. (We spent over $200 and I left a $30 tip.) When we went back they said, "oh that grow out",which clearly it was not. They were trying to make us pay full price to get them fixed and filled. I had to pretty much Argue with them until they finally did it! And of course they talk shit the whole entire time in their language about us. The woman that fixed my sisters nails took her frustration out on her fingers with the nail file and every single one of her Cuticles were bleeding afterwords. They didn't take their time to make sure our nails were filed correctly or even at all, they still look like crap. And once again two days later after I got them fixed they are starting to chip again! Never ever going back the customer service was worse than I have ever dealt with! read more

I was initially very happy with my experience there. They were full but got me right in and I was really pleased with the nail art I requested. I did a mani-pedi and enjoyed the experience. They weren't too rough with the salt scrub or with my cuticles. However, I got gel polish on my fingers for a vacation, specifically because it lasts such a long time. My manicurist said it would last 3-4 weeks. I got my mani on Sunday and my gel polish started chipping on Friday, 6 days later. I now have 2 nails that are chipping significantly on day 8. I don't know if it's the polish or the application, but I'm disappointed in the wear. My toes are still in great shape with regular polish. read more

Happy Nails Sleater Kinney .....overall I have nothing nice to say of the experience, which you have the right to expect to be enjoyable. I had a so-so pedicure. I had a gel manicure from a very inexperienced person that insisted on doing my manicure at the same time as my pedi. This isn't unusual but have you ever been asked to hold a gel dryer plugged into the wall and tethering on your lap while you have your feet submerged in water! I went in on a Sunday. Was surprised they were open, as a lot of the other nail salons were closed. I was impatient and wanted my eyebrows done before my work week. Anyways, moral of the story is....my eyebrows got overplucked in the center. I didn't have a unibrow to begin with, and she took off too much in the middle of each brow. Mehn (not sure if that's spelled correctly) and Tony are the ONLY people I let do my nails. They do them perfect every time. They do get a lot of new Faces and I'll be honest when the new kid started to file my nails down for my fill I cringed because he so obviously didn't know what he was doing. But if you plan on getting your nails done here be sure to call ahead if it's around when everyone is getting off work, they get super busy here and sometimes it can be up to an hour wait, so to just save time I always make appointments with who I like. Also the girl that does my eyebrow waxes always does a perfect job, and spends time grooming and shaping which I really appreciate, for $8 it's super refreshing. My nail chipped a few days after I got them done and mehn re did my nail while also putting extra coats on all the others for no charge. If you are a decent customer and are nice to them they treat you like royalty, trust me. I've had many of my friends come here and they absolutely love it. $35 for a full set $25 for a fill. Since they always do such a beautiful job with my outrageous design request I always tip at least $15. It's also nice to remember to tip everyone that's worked on you, even if it is just $5 it's a good gesture. You could show them (most) any nail art picture and they'd be happy to do it for you. read more

I have had acrylic nails for over 25 years and never had nail fungus. I went there for 2 months and now have it. When I had a fill my little figure had been hurting a lot. The last time, my mom asked the lady if she could have her water warmer when getting her feet done and the woman literally snapped at her and said "just WAIT!" In the past I had gone to this salon for both acrylic nails and pedicures. I won't go there again! The last pedicure I had was not the experience we all seek having the service done. The tech did a mediocre job while either gabbing with her co-worker or sitting sideways so she could watch TV while she massaged me. Her attention was barely on what she was doing. Later I wrote to the owners and included a copy of my receipt , explained my disappointment and asked if they'd give me a certificate for another time. I never even heard from them, by mail or phone. How's that for what their customers mean to them!!! I think they've gotten too popular and the quality of service has really suffered. read more

She cut my toe with the buffer thing, and to top it off kept spraying this alcohol mix on my toes afterward, you can just imagine how that felt! I have been a customer since 2010 and have been very happy with my manicure, pedicure and brow wax. I've recommended Happy Nails to all my friends and family. The facility is very clean and salon staff are very friendly. I can go to anyone and get great results! Their tools are sanitized and packaged and their pedicure tubs are cleaned each time. This place was packed when my friend and I first walked in. However they still managed to sit us down immediately. We both ended up telling 3 different people what we wanted. I got a full set with gel. When the guy started doing my nails, he was going waaaaay too fast and was rushing everything. I ended up having bloody cuticles that hurt super bad now and he got acrylic all over my fingers which are now sore. Once he did that, he walked away and a lady came over asking what color I want. I said I wanted a clearish pink, showing her a picture of my friend who had gone there about a week before and had clearish pinky acrylics. She said that it was white tips with pink underneath. I said no, it is not, and eventually she pulled out the clear pink color. Very rushed and slightly rude environment but decent prices. My friends manicure was beautiful however her cuticles were also torn up. read more
