History
Established in 2025.
My journey into veterinary hospice care began in 2015 during a home visit with a family and their beloved dog. There was something powerful about the peace in the room, the presence of the family, and the love that filled every corner. In that moment, I knew this work was my calling: helping families create calm, meaningful, love-filled moments with their pets.
Since then, I have dedicated myself to gentle, relationship-centered veterinary care that honors the bond between pets and the people who love them. My approach is rooted in the belief that comfort and joy can go hand-in-hand, even during a pet’s final chapter. Along the way, I also discovered the power of holistic care through acupuncture, herbal medicine, food therapy, and tui-na (massage). These therapies can work beautifully alongside modern medicine to support the whole pet — mind, body, and spirit.
Meet the Business Owner: Jeanette W.
Hi, I’m Dr. Jeanette, founder of Happy Earth Pet Hospice. I’m so grateful you’re here.
I provide integrative, mobile hospice and end-of-life care for dogs and cats throughout parts of North Carolina and Virginia. More than anything, I believe this stage of life is sacred — not because of how it ends, but because of the depth, connection, and meaning it holds.
I have been a veterinarian for over 15 years, and my career has included general practice, senior pet care, and advanced pain management. In 2015, everything shifted when I joined a house call veterinarian on a hospice visit. I remember being deeply moved by the peace in the room, the comfort of home, and the way that pet was surrounded by love and familiarity.
I left that visit knowing this work was my calling. Since then, I have devoted my professional life to helping pets feel safe, comfortable, and deeply loved during this meaningful season, while supporting the families who love them.
