I FEEL MUTILATED !!! IF YOU LIKE YOUR HAIR DONT COME HERE !!!! I've had long, beautiful hair, then went all the way down my back to my rear end. I came in here, telling the lady about past experiences of people cutting too much off of my hair. I even told her to give me a small trim and takeoff as minimum as possible .. she did NOT LISTEN TO ME AND SHE THOUGHT THAT SHE KNEW BETTER THAN I DID AND SHE COMPLETELY DID HER OWN THING AND TOOK OFF SIGNIFICANT LENGTH. MY HAIR IS NOW RIGHT AT MY BREAST LEVEL. I AM SO DEVASTATED AND I FEEL COMPLETELY MUTILATED!!!!! I don't know what to do because I'll probably be in my 40s by the time. Do not take your children here if you care how they look or how they are treated. I took my three year old son to get his hair cut. I showed Helen 2 pictures and answered her questions. I expressed what I wanted. I questioned her when she used the clippers on the top of his head and she quieted me and said she knew what she was doing. It took much longer than expected and I had to get home his hair was very wet so I didn't do a big inspection. Once home and hair drying it was clear this was the absolute worst hair cut. I told her I needed to come back and have her fix it. She gave me issues from the start. Once back she tried blaming my 3 year old who both times sat wonderfully still. She blamed me, she never apologized, told me I didn't know what I was talking about, told me she just did what I told her. She was rough with my son who got very nervous. His hair was completely botched. She couldn't even fix the mess she made unless she just fully buzzed his hair which I wouldn't allow. I had to stand right next to her making sure she wasn't mean and aggressive with my son and showing her all the uneven botched places. His hair still looks awful. I was relieved to have found this "no frills", reasonably priced salon on a Saturday after 5pm! Every other salon I called in proximity to Happy Cuts was outrageously priced and was getting ready to close. We walked in to a clean black and white salon adorned with live, gorgeous, and tall plants. We waited no more than 3 min for my daughter to get seated. Helen, the owner of the salon, heard us out, assessed our hair, and then advised us accordingly. She gave my daughter and I a much needed trim. We were very pleased with our new haircuts! Happy cuts to the rescue! Due to this horrible pandemic, I was struggling to find a hair salon that was open! Most barbers are booked and many hair salons are closed! I took a chance and called Happy cuts and They answered the phone which means they are OPEN! Helen is the one who was working she informed me she could take me in 15 minutes which was perfect because I work 10 minutes from the salon! When i arrived, she was cutting another gentleman's hair OUTSIDE. Yes, Helen set up a chair outside so she can cut clients hair! Now, it is not the same as a normal salon hair but it works! Helen sanitized all the hair tools and the Chair before she cut my hair! I requested for a medium skin fade with a 5 on top! Helen did a great job and I will return! Helen is working 7 days a week so big respect to her AND she's the only one working! Also, bring cash because they are not taking credit card which is a little weird to me! Regular hair cuts are $17 and a skin fade is $20! Not bad pricing.... Overall, I was satisfied! read more

Helen is great however when I explained what I wanted for my cut, she insisted doing it her way. Now my hair isn't even.

Cash only but no one will tell you that until it's time to pay. Daughter's main haircut was fine, but the bangs were done in a layered chopped style I didn't ask for (wouldn't ever). Beyond that there were some hairs not cut in the bangs that I pointed out to her and she said she would cut them but didn't. The cut overall looked dumb. Then we had to run around the shopping center trying to find cash until I convinced the lady to accept Venmo. Maybe a tax evader? Nothing was good about the experience. read more

I've been on the hunt for a long-term person who'd style and cut my hair. I called to make a same-day appointment and she greeted me with a smile. She asked how I found her and I told her it was thru Yelp (thanks, fellow reviewers)! I asked how much would a cut be after I showed her the layer-style I want. I went in and had an idea on the kind of long layers I wanted, and she suggested I go in a different direction so that my cut would bring out my natural waves. She did as promised! I got a lot of compliments on my hair and my hair often looked like it had been styled even though all I did was wash and air dry. LOVE IT...... I have NEVER wrote a review before but in this case I had to. I had my hair braided for a few weeks and when I took them out OMG I literally cried. My hair broke off so bad. My bleached blonde. Over-processed hair was to the middle of my back but once the braids came out so did my hair, right up to about shoulder length . I called Happy Cuts and she got me in early morning for a cut and color and let me tell you I absolutely love it and so did everyone else I know. It's going to take a little to get use to shoulder length hair but back to dark brown it is for me for awhile that is. I did came here for a quick perm. I have had perms before that took 1.5- 2.0 hours. I was thinking it would be the same time limit; if not maybe 30 minutes longer. The lady would roll my hair for 10 minutes, then would move on to someone else and would just leave me. Eventually she would return to roll the rest of my hair. When done rolling my hair she had put the first solution on my hair. Afterwards I was set in a hairdryer chair, that was a normal procedure she had set the timer for about 25 minutes. When the timer went off she was with another customer. She came and checked me then said let's give this 10 more minutes: it was about 30 minutes before I was seen again. It does feel like my scalp is burnt cause it hurts now. I spent the whole afternoon at that salon. Never had her full focus. Then to turn out my payment was $100.00. To start out my hair was halfway to my shoulders. If you like to be left alone and spend your whole day in one place then come here. read more

Not at all a "Happy" place. Went in (Saturday1/22/22 @ 1:30pm). The woman was rough with my grandson, wouldn't use detangler to comb through his curly hair, gave him a crappy 15 minute haircut, then told me it was $20 cash. Same cost as a mens cut, didn't wash his hair, and didn't tell me it was cash until afterward. No signs either. I had to drive to the store to get cash and come back. She didn't apologize....only made excuses. Worse experience we've ever had. Go across the street to Diamond Blade barber. Cheaper, better hair cut, nicer experience, and much better communication. read more

I moved to the area just a few days before COVID-19 shut everything down. I've been in desperate need of a haircut. I didn't know where to go once things started to open up. I looked and saw the reviews of happy cuts and saw that Helen did an awesome job before the COVID-19 shut down. They are open for business now and I am so glad I gave them a try. Great haircut spot. I come here every other week to get my haircut and they are way better than mainstream places like Supercuts or Great Clips, and cheaper too. A good haircut is a rare thing so I'm glad I found a such a cool little place. Helen does great work. They just moved a few storefronts down to a larger and nicer space (from #165 to #105) and now it feels like I'm getting a fancy haircut at an upper middle class salon when I go in. Come here if you want to try a new style that you didn't ask for! Asked for the sides and back short with clippers and about 2 inches off the top. I said "let's start with the sides and back and then look at the top after". She started buzzing and before I could stop her she had already chopped 5 inches off the top. When I stopped her and said I wanted the top longer, she said "yeah not too long, normal man haircut". I'm mad because it's not that difficult to have the sides and back buzzed short and a couple inches off the top. The hair I'm left with on my head is the amount I wanted cut off. Never coming here again. Should be renamed to very sad chops :( Luckily hair grows back! read more
