Ok so it's not the prettiest station in the world (although the frontage isn't bad), but it's well organized and the annoucements as you get off a train are great and also in English. If you really like ICE's like me, you'll see lots here!

It is a huge Bahnhof. You might get lost when you just arrived. Ernst August statue standing plaza is the front which going to the city, the other end goes differently. Strassenbahns and trains all coming here, so it gets confusing to get a right train. I arrived here with the Strassenbahn and change to the local trains to go to the Steinhuder Meer. I also had to take ICE to Karlsruhe from here. That was not super easy, but I made it. So many shops and eating places, so fun to spend time also. read more

This place charges you 1 Euro to use the bathroom, what a rip off! If you are not local then you are gonna have a hard trouble figuring out the route and the wagon assignment for the trains. The instructions do not provide too much details and there are too much that you need to know before you end up waking up in another country. I wish they could make instructions a bit easier to understand... For some reason locals already know by heart how the system works, the hours, the A, B, C, D, E sections, and others. I couldn't find any of those information in the available billboards that they have. Wish they could provide those info with more details and more available to the public... read more

Th city isn't really worth a journey. Except the old town hall and the maschsee, the city doesnt really have that much to offer. However, if one finds himself at the train station in Hannover you can shop here every day of the week - even on Sundays. If you think drinks are too expensive - which they are - go to Lidl in the basement and buy your drinks there. You can safe a lot by doing this. If you have a bit of time due to a stopover you can walk to the Ernst-August-gallery just outside of the station. Three flours with shops. Definit ely enough to let the time pass by. The only place with free wifi is the Starbucks. Germany still sucks in offering public free wifi. In case your train is delayed check out the app by deutsche bahn, which helps you to find most connections in Europe. read more

As another Yelper mentioned here, Hanover is not a super exciting place. We visited with my mother and a friend, because my mother wanted to stay in a hotel (Luisenhof) that she had seen featured on a BBC program or something. The Bahnhof is great for 7 day a week shopping though, and German train stations always seem so clean and well organized, this one being no exception. Beautiful building on the outside, and a nice Ernst August statue out front. read more

When I visited Germany this past December, I stayed primarily in Hannover, and practically lived in this hauptbanhof! I'm so glad it was open 7 days a week because I spent many a Sunday here. Since it was the holidays, there was also a Weinachtsmarkt (Christmas market) right outside and I loved getting my glühwein fix before heading out into the cold! For American tourists, a hauptbanhof is a central train station and so much more. Hannover's wasn't the prettiest station I visited, but it was clean and it was home. This particular one has drugstores, grocery stores, clothing stores, flower shops, a Sparkasse (bank/atms), eateries, and even a McDonald's. I completely miss the convenience of the central stations in Europe - literally anything you want or need can be found here. The location of this hauptbanhof is awesome because the Ernst August Galleries (3 story mall) is just a few feet away. There is also a great statue of Ernst August in front of the station. read more

Hannover Main Station is more like a mall than a station. Lots of shop, food isles and opportunities to grab a coffee to go. Also they have an information desk, lockers for your baggage and you can get to city centre in about two minutes by foot. it's a tiny bit crowded, especially in the mornings, but that's what you can normally expect from a main station. read more

Lieber Hauptbahnhof. Es nervt, dass der Weihnachtsmarkt genau vor deiner Tür steht und ich es nach der Arbeit jetzt immer schwer habe in dich reinzukommen! Das klingt übertrieben, aber ich habe immer genau 5 Minuten Zeit meinen Zug zu erwischen und muss mich jetzt immer abends durch Menschenmassen quetschen. Ihr vergesst, dass ihr auch noch ein Hauptbahnhof seid!! Und außerdem... wie ist das eigentlich mit den Brandbestimmungen und einem Weihnachtsmarkt direkt vor der Tür? Also wenn ich es so schwer habe reinzukommen, wie kommen hunderte Menschen da raus. Mal so nebenbei -_- read more

Der Hauptbahnhof in Hannover ist für das Aufkommen an Verkehr schlichtweg zu klein, und die Planungen der Erweiterung wurden zu lange verschlampt. Aber egal, wer nun die Schuld in den Schuhen trägt, hier ist es einfach immer zu eng, zu laut und zu wuselig. Dadurch werden die Menschen hektisch und aggressiv, und das macht diesen Ort zu einer Location, an der man sich ungern aufhält. Pluspunkt ist, dass er wirklich im Herzen der Stadt liegt, und so gut wie alles von hieraus schnell zu erreichen ist. read more

Super Bahnhof! Abgesehen davon, dass es sich hier um ein echt hübsches Gebäude handelt, bietet der Bahnhof alles was man braucht: Viele Einkaufsmöglichektien (Douglas, NanuNana, Zeitschriften, etc.), Fressbuden (leCrobac, Döner, Bosselmann, Wurstbasar, Mr.Clou, und vieles mehr!) und ein sauberes Auftreten. Schade, dass die Toiletten nicht ksotenlos sind, aber in Deutschland ist das wohl so üblich. Und für die ständigen Verspätungen der DB kann der Bahnhof an sich ja auch (meistens) nichts! read more

Der Hauptbahnhof in Hannover ist eine ewige Baustelle. Auch wenn die Haupthalle groß, und die wege zu den Gleisen logisch aufgebaut und nachvollziehbar sind, so dass man sich nicht verlaufen kann, bleibt der Bahnhof überfüllt und zu eng. Wenn ich dann daran denke, dass nochmehr Leute über die Bahn in die Stadt kommen sollen, wenn die Innenstadt autofrei werden soll... da kommt mir das Grausen. read more

Dies ist einer der wenigen Bahnhöfe, der sehr sauber gehalten wird. Hier herrscht eine menge Trubel, allerdings im positiven Sinne. Auch die Mitarbeiter sind sehr freundlich, wenn man eine Nachfrage hat. Es gibt auch gute Einkaufsmöglichkeiten. Ein Bahnhof mit einem angenehmen Ambiente. read more

Hallo, ich finde den Hbf in Hannover recht gut. Es gibt jede Menge Läden und Gastronomie. Die GAstro ist zum Teil erneuerungsbedürftig. Es gibt so ein Konglomerat aus einem japanischen, spanischen und italienischem Restaurant. Alles ist recht alt ud nicht sehr sauber. read more

Am Bahnhof angekommen und gleich ist mir positiv aufgefallen , dass er nicht so dreckig ist wie manch andere Bahnhöfe in Deutschland. Den Umbau finde ich gelungen.Wichtig ist für much aber auch, dass man sich gut zurechtfindet auch wenn man ortsunkundig ist. read more

Ich habe schon viele Bahnhöfe gesehen in mehreren Hauptstädten auf der Welt. Der in Hannover ist vll. nicht der sauberste, aber echt super zentral, gut aufgebaut hat viele Läden und man kommt wunderbar überall hin. Danke Expo 2000! read more

Sehr schöner Bahnhof aber etwas zu viel Los da. Aber wenn der Zug mal ausfällt und man "strandet" ist dieser Bahnhof doch ein guter Platz dafür um nicht vor langer weile zu ermüden. read more
