I guess I could be eating less chips than I should anyway. Yep, it's pretty standard fish & chips shop, you have the usual suspects on the menu and although I've yet to try their hamburgers, I've a feeling they must be alright seeing them being made for another customer whilst waiting for my single person order of half chips and blue gren. Saw the beef patties being flattened from a ball of mince each on the grill so at least it wasn't pre- made slivers with peel away paper. My fish was so-so, I don't think it's beer batter just maybe stock standard flour, egg and water. Chips were a bit underdone and definitely not crispy outside fluffy inside. One or two were definitely not cooked. There's better places yet. Oh, staff weren't friendly to me. Felt like they'd rather be somewhere else. We had the beef ribs then roast chat potatoes with rosemary and aioli. Then we had a serve of chicken and feta meatballs served on a crunchy coleslaw. All dishes were tasty and exactly as described on the menu. Nice wine list too. I had a Chain of Ponds rose which went down well. While the restaurant wasn't well patronized on a Monday night, the staff remained impressively upbeat. Our server was both pleasant and stylish.
