The cleaning of the exterior of the house was again, poor workmanship. Did not bring their own equipment, used my folks ladder and cleaning supplies. Was asked to provide buisness license and WCB documents, did not provide and was evasive saying they didn't have them with them. When checked on after the fact it was discovered they did not have a business license for the town they were soliciting work in.... Avoid this company at all costs.

I called Emerald, like I have over the past 8 or 9 years, because we had little to no pressure for…read moreour system in the front yard. They sent an employee out to check out the problem. My wife directed him to the area that she had seen some flooding. He opened up the box, drained it and proceeded to fix it. After a few hours he told my wife he would come back the next day and clean up where he had work. At this point we felt that the problem had been resolved. The employee called me a couple of days later, as I was out, and told me that it was not working and the reason was we had broken pipes. I asked how much it would cost to fix it and he said it would be expensive. I told him that he shouldn't repair it. Our front lawn is not big an a half hour if using a sprinkler would probably do the job. We received an invoice a couple of weeks later for $518.88. I was pissed. I think what bothered me the most is that we were under the impression that the employee was fixing the problem, not just part of the problem. If we would have been advised that the first step would cost around $500 and that there may be more issues we may not have proceed. But that was never discussed with us as a possibility. I wrote on the back of the invoice how I felt and told them I would not be paying as my system has not been fixed. A guy named Chris called once they received the invoice and said he'd send the same employee out to see what could be done. The employee shows up, we have a short discussion and nothing is resolved. Chris then calls me and asks why I still feel that I shouldn't pay. I tell him that we thought that rebuilding the manifold would correct the problem and that it would work. He told me that's not how it works in the irrigation business. He said they wouldn't know until after the first step was done. We continued to get nowhere in our conversation despite the fact that Chris said he was trying to resolve the issue for both parties. I told him to send me the invoice and I'd pay but I will never use or recommend this company because of the experience. I feel they should have communicated better and let us know that the issue may be bigger than we first thought. If you do use this company, get a quote and really ask questions as to what the problem is. We didn't and it cost us $500 and I'm still watering my front yard with a sprinkler. PS. I'm paying them today because I always pay my bills and I really don't want to hear from the company ever again!
