Gullmarsstrand rate themselves as a four star hotel but I think three stars are more accurate. Our one night stay costed 1750 sek for their basic standard double bed room which I personally think is way too much for the standard of the room. The only window led to our neighbours terrace (their outside furniture about 50 cm from our window). Here are the pros and cons in my opinion: Pros: Location! Very beautiful location in Fiskebäckskil. Close to the ocean and the ferry over to Lysekil. The hotel feels very "zen" and relaxed. Very easy to park the car. Clean rooms, nice clean toilet with a good shower. Quick check in and check out. Polite staff. Nice breakfast with something for everyone. Hair dryer in the room. Cons: It feels a lot like a conference centre, that is you don't get the personal feel from the staff. Most of the time they looked away when entering a area. When checking in no information about facilities like the spa, sauna or restaurant. No bellboy. Nothing in the room on arrival that made us feel special, not even the classic chocolate on the pillow, mini bar or equipment to boil water for tea or coffee. Very few channels on the TV and with bad quality. WiFi available but you need to register at Telia to access it, not that fast either. Only one wall socket under the desk, I think it's important with sockets close the the headboard of the bed. No aircon. No equipment in the room for ironing. No room service. No safebox. Their restaurant were very exclusive with mostly fish on the menu. I think, according to the price, the standard could have been better. If the room would have costed less this review would not been this negative. This is absolutely not a four star hotel.

The Landvetter Airport Hotel is a hotel that is about a 5m walk to the departures hall of…read moreLandvetter Airport. It is very convenient, the staff are helpful, and the bathroom is amazing. My two complaints are: 1) The bed was so firm I had a hard time sleeping, and I can usually sleep on firm beds. 2) In addition to the bed being really hard, the TV has a clock on it instead of an alarm clock (which is fine), but the numbers were bright blue -- the worst color for being subtle in the dark. I had to get up in the middle of the night to put post-it notes over it since it was almost as bright as dawn all night. So the hotel is a great location for leaving from Landvetter -- especially with early flights. What was really nice and unexpected is that since breakfast is included, and it opens at around 5ish or maybe 05:30, that was too late for me to catch my flight. I was able to show up to breakfast early -- I told them 04:00. At 4am, they were setting up, and I was able to have anything that was out. I had expected to have to skip breakfast. The full setup wasn't out, but the bread, cheese, meat, and fruits were. The bathroom... wow. It is amazing. The shower is sleek and so cool looking. There is a heated towel rack (one of the best inventions -- I use one in Hawaii to help prevent mildew) AND a heated floor. I now plan on using some of those features if I ever design my dream house. Next time I'm in Sweden and heading out from visiting friends, I'll be happy to stay here. I'll just make sure I have something to put over the TV clock to make it less bright.

I have not stayed at the hotel but based on multiple visits to the restaurant, the friendliness of staff and proprietors, and talking to people staying there; I am certain it's an experience not to be missed. The staff is friendly, food is excellent and the ambiance/location is unsurpassed. The menu is limited and almost exclusively fish and seafood. My favourite include shrimp sandwich and the local fish soup. For those who prefer meat the veal schnitzel is the pride of the chef and very good. Bring your dog and the kids and spend an afternoon - there is plenty of tumbling space.

They refill the little pots as often as you want so you will get full. Each year there is a new flavor and this year with coconut and lemon grass was quite good. This little town produces the most sill in the country and Swedish tourists come to buy and try the sill. The restaurant has a small number of hotel rooms for those wanting a little romantic b&b experience. We have come here 2 years in a row now because our sailboat was harbored just on the other side of the bridge, Mossholmen and a pleasant walk away. Ot kind of reminds me of Tiberon, where boats can pull up at the cay and you can hop off for a lunch and then back on again to put out to the next port. They have a decent selection of local brews as well and you can order fresh fish done in traditional ways. Everything traditional is done well. The forays into non traditional Swedish home cooking are not as successful and I would recommend avoiding. The view is fantastic, the atmosphere is just posh enough but not too stuffy. The wine selection was quite good to accompany seafood dishes.

On arrival the staff was friendly but the room where you pick up the robes and slippers was disorganized and poorly marked. We got to our room which was small but sufficient in space for a standard room. The view was really wonderful but the room itself was pretty worn down. The furniture was new but when looking at the room itself, the floors and doors were very scratched, and there was a noise that sounded like rushing water through the pipes. We got the spa that that was awesome, super relaxing with another great view. As we got ready for bed at like 1 am there was very loud, audible bass thumping and yelling from a party. I am not a light sleeper but this was really annoying and didn't end until about 2 am. I know the property does parties once a month but those are cancelled now because of the corona situation. I have no clue why there was such a large party going on. Additionally, we had two twin beds pushed together that had flimsy pillowtops which slid all over. We did not have a good night's sleep. In the morning we went for breakfast. Fresh cheesy, warm eggs and bacon, sandwiches, and a veggie option too. For drinks they had apple juice, tea and coffee. It was a basic breakfast but everything was prepared well. Overall I'd say that if you want a meal and spa day this is a fun place but avoid the hotel if you can.
