Complete and utter rip-off!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I was sold a reproduction painting described as an authentic antique. Spent thousands on it and immediately complained to Gillie. After a year of back and forth with Gillie, who is a total fruitcake, I had to enlist the services of a British lawyer. Finally got most of the money back. The aggravation was horrific. I was interested in selling a painting to them/through them of a notable artist that they had previously sold. Gillie asked me to send the painting to a conservator in my city. She then stole the painting and took it to england without any notice. When I protested, she claimed I was being dramatic and told me to wait. One year later, I hadn't received any funds from them. I consulted a solicitor in London and only under legal threat did Gillie pay, but just one half of the value of my painting. Total scam artists. read more

I bought a drawing from the Hamshere Gallery in March, and have just received it. Between the cleaning, search for a new frame, and messages concerning business and personal difficulties that delayed shipping, it took about 2 1/2 months for me to get the item. I was concerned, but kept checking with Gillie and I am totally pleased with the final outcome. Yes, it took longer to get the item than it should have, and only my kind nature makes me want to believe her. In any case, I cannot complain about the transaction. I got exactly what I paid for, in a beautiful frame. The price seemed reasonable to me. Financial circumstances make it unlikely I would purchase from her in the near future. I would not discourage someone who is as enchanted by one of her items as I was. read more
