All the photos you see on Yelp are from the hotel itself. I will post some photos of actual room decor which was pretty amusing. We stayed for one night after seeing a show and going to the casino. We checked in at about 6pm and got back around 1am and checked out at about 9am. Really not long in the hotel. What we noticed... The place is sort of run down, but we didn't expect much. Our room was clean, but dated. The decor was pretty funny. I would describe it as eclectic, post modern, senior living center. Orange lamp, yellow lamp, royal blue table, etc. There is no closet. Just an area next to the window with pegs on the wall and a curtain. There were drawers, but check out the photos. You could either store your underwear and socks or some apples and onions. There was a full college dorm fridge that froze my soda and a microwave on the counter. Can't comment on the free breakfast as we opted to get breakfast elsewhere. Did notice that the pool was closed, so check before you decide to stay if you want to use the pool. For just a place to stay for the night. Not for a special occasion. It was okay. Except for the scratchy towels. Unless you need to exfoliate. Then, you are all good. read more

This as the worst Hilton property I have ever stayed. The original room smelled like a dirty diaper or someone was murdered in the room. Did Jeffery Dahmer stay her?. Room 2 that we moved to was not cleaned and the previous person's key was left in the room. There was trash in the room. Room 2 the air conditioner was questionable. At least it did not smell like a murder scene. I am so sorry to even say this but I will never stay at this property again. I want to throw up that I am even here still writing this. The most uncomfortable Hilton property ever. Avoid this place! read more

I am a Hilton fan, and I like my points, so I was staying in town and decided this Hampton looked reasonable. The staff was friendly (enough) when I checked in. I was checked in to possibly the smallest hotel room known to man. The heat was off, the room was freezing. The thermostat wasn't connected to the wall unit so I don't know what good that did. I was given the bare bones of towels, asked for more, never brought up. The characters were a bit seedy in my opinion. It's not like the online location has an avoid not so good locations option... I did feel safe but just uncomfortable, my level of comfort as a solo female traveler. One thing I will say is that this hotel has a nice pool area and from 10pm-midnight is adults only. Long pool hours, and quiet. Too bad no one manages the chemical level because I had a chemical burn from the hot tub. I did not try the breakfast. The night shift worker told me to "try the breakfast. The sausage is good today, it's cooked all the way through." Uh... Not great for what I am used to with Hamptons. Not terrible. Lots of food options around. Convenient to highway... which you heard all night. read more

I reserved a room at this property because I enjoyed my stays here in the past. When my wife and I and our dog arrived to check in the gentleman at the desk asked if I knew about the pet fee I told him no. He politely informed me it was, ready, wait for it $150.00!!!!!!! We canceled and due to the reason he waived the bill despite the late cancellation for which I am grateful. All other Hampton Inns I've stayed at have a $50 fee so I didn't look at specifics for this property. I won't make that mistake again. read more

I stayed here last night. I don't have any photos... What isn't good... 1. You can hear the elevators if you are in a room close to them. 2. Traffic! When you build a hotel next to an expressway, some soundproofing would be nice. I have been to many hotels, many Hilton properties near expressways. I don't recall ever being able to clearly hear normal traffic all night long! I am not talking rush hour, I am not talking horns blaring, I am not talking emergency vehicles. Just normal, average vehicular sounds. 3. When I checked in on the App, I read on the app that Diamond members receive 2 snack options when checking. I was looking forward to this, as I did a 5 mile Hike at near by Rock Cut prior to arriving. Apparently, this was no longer the case. 2 bottles of water. I understand this was the typical handout to DM's over the years, that is fine. Don't have it posted somewhere if you are not able to continue to do a snack option. 4. The hot tub and pool temps are very close in range. You can feel the pool was a little cooler, but the hot tub was very tepid. It also appeared that someone loaded the bottom of the hot tub with sand. I don't know from where on a mid-September day as the area pools and beaches are closed. The front desk staff seemed unconcerned when I brought it to their attention. 5. The interior at this location reminds me of Howard Johnson hotels from the mid 1980's. The futuristic, minimalistic orange and white decor. Although, I do appreciate all the hooks. read more

We stayed here last week on 1/27 (also on 11/18/23). We were very disappointed with this recent stay. When we arrived we asked if the lifts for the pool and hot tub were working (I use a wheelchair). We were informed that the pool was closed completely. In November, the lift by the hot tub was not working properly. So I was not able to use it to get in the water. It is extremely rare for a hotel to have lifts for both the pool and hot tub, so we were very excited when we learned this hotel had both. When we entered our room, almost instantly we noticed multiple dead bugs in the entry way. There was also a dead bug in the bathroom. The next morning we noticed a live stink bug climbing the wall next to the large mirror. Lastly, the breakfast options were very minimal when we went to eat. The eggs and bacon were cold and poorly cooked. The ingredients for waffles were out, but there was no waffle maker. read more

I have been a Hilton Diamond member for over a decade and I have only written one review in all that time, and it was a positive review. Tonight I'm writing one because this facility should not be given a franchise from Hilton - an organization I otherwise fully support. Everything about this place rings cheap. The bars of soap are the most miniature things I've ever seen and are like little pieces of sandpaper. The thermostat will not drop below 68 degrees. The towels are old, thin and desperately in need of replacing. I was not offered a water at check in (a Diamond perk), but the front desk guy was very nice. The shower head would not move and was cheap plastic garbage. The real nail in the coffin was when I found a fingernail stuck to the bath rug- see photo. read more

I stayed here in late March 2022, and the room was comfortable and clean. The mattresses seemed new and the chair and footstool was a comfortable place to sit and work for a bit. The shower had plenty of hot water. All the basics were solid! They were a little short staffed; no one was at the desk in the late afternoon when we arrived. There seemed to be just one person handling many tasks. We all also had to request some items for our rooms that were forgotten when the rooms were prepared (e.g soap, kleenex) and the same person needed to go get those items when we stopped back by the desk. My room was right across from the elevator and ice machine so I was glad I was traveling with my usual earplugs for hotels as conversations of other guests waiting for the elevator were pretty loud both late and early and there's not much soundproofing from hallway noise, Breakfast was good; I'm a fan of the make your own waffles in the flip over waffle iron thing...you all know the hotel waffle maker I'm taking about. The free wifi was plenty fast for basic needs. Location is very convenient and easy to find off the highway. read more

Front desk girl: I greeted her and she just looked at me. I said Hello again, thinking she didn't hear me, and she replied "hey." No bottles of water offered, and when I asked she looked at me and huffed as she went to get me a bottle of water. Sound: You'll hear the traffic from the highway all night long. Not horns, sirens, or other loud noises - just the constant traffic. Wifi: I'm in the middle of the hotel on the 4th floor, and I have one bar. It wasn't even enough to connect to my phone for more than a minute, and my phone errored out with a "Will connect when the signal is stronger" error. I stayed at the hotel for nine days, the nine days I had a view of the back of the first side wall. They only clean the room every four days." unless you ask", when you go into the room the garbage cans have the garbage bag hanging on the side. So you automatically have to put in your own garbage bag!. I'm pretty disappointed in the room service cleaning. On Saturday morning, they knock on your door at 7:30 asking if you want to have your room cleaned. really, you can't even sleep in on a Saturday. I hope management changes their policy with their room service. I don't know that I will be staying here again if I get woken up at 7:30 again. read more

stayed here for a day stay and the place over all was decent, they have a pool but it is kinda dingy. Just needs some work. The breakfast was good!! keep it fresh n hot! But my main concern was the staff . The girl at the front door was VERY VERY RUDE not just to us while checking in, also while we were in the lobby we heard her on the phone just being straight up rude. Then on our way down to breakfast, the house keepers were cleaning and wouldnt move there selfs or there dirty towel cart out of the way then huffed and puffed. This was, overall, a barely OK stay. The pool (one of the reasons we booked here) was closed. It would have been nice if the website mentioned this. The coffee maker in my room was missing parts so that it was unusable. When I asked at the desk, the response was pretty much just "sorry, we can't do anything ". In fact, that was the response for every problem reported. Aside from the lack of response from the staff, the room was really small, the towels few in number and anyplace to hang your towel to dry nonexistent. Since they aren't changed daily, you really need to be able to hang them somewhere! On the plus side, the room was clean and the bed was reasonably comfortable. I had a reservation at the Hampton Inn on January 7th and I prepaid for the room via the Hilton website. When I checked out on the 8th, the property billed my credit card for a second time on January 10th. I understand mistakes are made and I called the property and explained the situation and was told that the manager was sick and that he/she would have to call me back. I waited a few days and called again and was told that they couldn't see the double charge and would have to investigate and that a manager would give me a call to discuss. It's now January 20th and I have yet to receive a call from the manager regarding the double charge for the room. I called Hilton customer service and they opened a ticket for the property manager and Hilton customer service has already followed up with me twice. The second room charge is still sitting on my credit card and I have zero faith that anyone from this hotel will call me to actually resolve the issue. Terrible management. read more

5 stars for this hotel! I've been here a few times on business and the staff is always great and very friendly! Due to some covid restrictions, you do have to schedule a time slot for the pool and gym, but the staff is very friendly and always able to accommodate you. They have packed lunches in the morning and coffee always available throughout the day at the front desk. One staff member that always sticks out to me is Cher. She goes above and beyond to accommodate me with whatever I need and makes me feel very welcome in the hotel. Thank you Cher for always making my stays at the Hampton Inn always pleasant! read more

Mediocre hotel, but the biggest gripe is they charged my credit card on file without my permission, $100 for what they call incidentals. I'm a Hilton member and have never had a location do this. I called corporate and they likewise had never heard of this. Apparently that is this locations policy, they claim they gave me a form to sign which they did not (I asked them to look it up, nothing). So, now I wait for my refund and see how long they "float" the charge. As a result I no longer keep credit cards on my Hilton account and will find another place to stay in Rockford. read more

DO NOT USE PRICELINE TO STAY HERE. My family and I stayed at this hotel in September 2019 using reservations through Priceline. We checked in using the confirmation numbers and the front desk staff were very friendly. After a few weeks, both my father and I noticed full room charges on our credit cards for the stay. After multiple calls to the hotel to retrieve a bill for the charges, they have not returned any of our calls. This is extremely disappointing as we had paid in full through Priceline and essentially paid twice for our stay. read more

I'm a frequent guest at this hotel for business travel and had my first bad experience. I came out to find my car had been vandalized (looked like someone punched in my taillight) between 11pm and 6am. When I asked the hotel about any sort of surveillance, I learned that there is one camera at the front door, and the rest of the grounds are unmonitored. Upon talking to others in the area, I learned that there has been a rise of car burglaries and vandalisms in Rockford. It is not uncommon for guests to arrive quite late to hotels, and I would expect greater attention to guest and grounds safety. The unfortunate part of this review, is that I love the staff and have never had a poor experience with them or the rooms. Please just take into consideration that this area is experiencing higher than normal crime rates. read more

Right off of E State St and I-90; so very convenient. Quick check-in and Assistant Manager was very courteous, helpful, and was willing to give discount for business. Breakfasts are always good, lots of variety: hot breakfast, cereal, bakery items, hot coffee, etc. Very clean and inviting. Love the free internet! Spacious rooms. Plenty of parking and close to MANY restaurants and stores. One caveat is limited cable channels. Pool closed at midnight; good for a late night swim (or tread, because of shallow depth) or soak in the not-so-hot hot-tub. read more

We used Priceline for the first time to negotiate a room for the night and got a deal at the Hampton Inn. I'm pretty pleased with what we got for the price. The staff here are very friendly and helpful and both the breakfast food and the breakfast server lady are WAY above par for Hampton Inn. Trust me, I've been to some other ones where they acted like they couldn't wait for you to get out of there so they could go home. Only beef I have with this place is, it doesn't have refrigerators in every room. First time I stayed here I got a fridge room and just assumed there would be one on my second stay (as I've had them at other Hampton Inns too). Um, nope...my second stay had no fridge in the room :( Please! Make all the rooms uniform so my food that I brought with me doesn't go all bad, please! Also, the "business center" has an adding machine in it...wtf? It also has a computer with a non-working printer connection (fortunately the other computer printed) and if you want copies made you have to ask the lady at the desk. Could use a bit of an upgrade for those of us who are actually trying to get work done on the road. read more

It's probably one of the nicest hotels in Rockford as I don't think the Hilton is very nice anymore. If you want to go a bit out of town you can head up to Beloit for a 5 star stay at Hotel Goodwin, but The Hampton is def a great 4 star stay as well. read more

Second time we have stayed at this hotel. It is easy access off the freeway. Both times we have found the room to be clean, bathroom immaculate, and internet access was good. Front desk employees are very welcoming. They have a free breakfast that is very good. There were omelets, sausages, waffles, cereal, fruit, toast, different juices, and coffee. You will not walk away hungry. It snowed that night but the lot was plowed by morning and walks were shoveled. read more

Also, the free WiFi is useless. To get an acceptable WiFi connection they have the nerve to charge $6.99 a day. No thanks. There are plenty of stores and businesses with good FREE WiFi.
