I visited this hotel for a night during a work trip. The check-in process was tedious. I tried to call ahead to check in, because I had to go directly to work after the 3pm check-in time and they just couldn't work with me. Not necessarily their fault. The person behind the desk didn't have my credit card authorization form from work, and they made me awkwardly stand there for 20 minutes. We were quoted a price of $157 but when we checked out, we were charged $200 and when we asked why we were told that they really weren't sure. We were told the hotel adjusts rates often but with no notice or explanation. In addition, they only clean the rooms every other day!! At the prices they charge they can't make up the room every day???? The air conditioning could not be shut off and had to be disconnected, not fixed. I used to travel a lot and usually stayed at a Hampton Inn, NEVER AGAIN!!! This hotel showed a 4-star rating, but it doesn't even deserve a 1 star. read more

This Hampton Inn feels a bit older, but it satisfies the basics. The room was comfortable and fairly quiet, the staff were incredibly friendly, and the breakfast was pretty good and well maintained. The pool was open. One elevator was broken, meaning the other one had a lot more work to do, and an occasional wait, but not awful. My stay here was comfortable and adequate. read more

I used to be a die hard Hampton Inn customer and have stayed at countless properties over the years, but I will never go back. This was the worst hotel stay we have had in many years. The front desk staff was polite and accommodating, but clearly they have no influence with the housekeeping and maintenance staff. We arrived on a Friday and had many issues with our room - entry light was burnt out, the a/c unit sounded like a jet engine, the tv volume would not go loud enough to hear over the a/c, the toilet seat was VERY loose and the toilet ran all night. We covered all of this with the front desk EVERY DAY of our stay (4 nights), but nothing was ever done to fix any of the issues. We also had to go to the front desk to get toilet paper, cups and towels on day three. Apparently the cleaning staff only cleans every other day and the maintenance staff is non-existent. The one day that the room was "cleaned" consisted of swapping out towels and emptying the trash. The bed was not made and the floor was not vacuumed. On a side note, it seems that many of the Hampton Inns (including this one) have installed sliding barn doors on the bathrooms, so you can hear everything that happens in there. There is also a 2 inch gap at each side of the door...so you can also see what is going on in there. Basically no privacy at all. At least the jet engine a/c unit covered up some of the bathroom sounds. I am now a die hard Marriott Courtyard customer. I was VERY generous and gave them 2 stars because the front desk staff seemed to sincerely care. read more

Hampton Inns have taken a nose dive No rooms will be cleaned during your stay. Soaps...shampoos etc the same. Unless you want to get items you need yourself. My bed sheet had a hole in it and it looked like a blood stain. Pictures below. Pool area is not for sitting...no room and no chairs. Need towels for the room? You will need to go downstairs everyday and they will replace whatever you return...nothing extra. Complimentary breakfast...good luck...slow to never refills...we left because no seats and no eggs... No matter what they charge...this place is too expensive. No help? Cheaper to have all your future ex customers run down to the front desk for everything? Think not EVER! Glad it's only 2 nights. Check out the picture of my sheet... Never staying at a Hilton property again...just toss the loyalty card in the garbage...that will probably be here until someone brings to front desk to toss out. This place is horrible. We came to stay for two days to drop my little brother off at college and were met with nothing but hatefulness and meanness. The front desk lady was rude, rolled her eyes at my mother and made us pay for a $150 incident fee that WE DIDNT GET BACK!!! The pool was nasty and green and when we had gotten to our room nothing was clean. It's like they don't even do their jobs here. Also the front desk lady smelled like weed each time we had to speak with her!! I would never recommend this place to anyone. read more

The staff are attentive and courteous, outgoing and engaging. Responsive when needed, no delays if they can help it. Dog friendly, clean smell free halls and rooms; comfortable beds. Worst breakfast staff ever!!! Both attendance were so rude as I told my grandkids we would have to go elsewhere for breakfast because they were out... she jumped in the middle of my conversation in front of everyone and said well breakfast is closing in 15 minutes. Meanwhile, the entire staff is eating breakfast while guest are having to do without they were out of waffle mix they were out of sausages they were out of everything and I was down there 20 minutes before breakfast Closed. The fact that she made it her business to include herself into my conversation was rude and then to carry-on was even more rude. Recently stayed two nights at this hotel. Breakfast was adequate. Room was clean and well appointed. My wife slipped in the shower, fell and broke her nose. Not Happy. I would like to think that places like this exist only in third world countries. Evidently, I am mistaken. The room was large enough, however, it was freezing cold. Supply chain issues? Not acceptable. NO SOAP AND NO SHAMPOO? My husband was told he could borrow the shampoo bottle at the desk, but had to bring it back. Third world. Barking dogs and running children? Third world. This place can be really hard to find at night, it is hidden behind another inn, forget its name, but the the large one right after you turn on Central Place Dr. We completely passed this place and had to ask another inn where the Hampton was, once we got directions though it was easy. Check-in was simple and easy. The place didn't seem busy but was completely booked. My room was on the first floor literally like 100 feet from the check-in lobby. This place must really be small, but it did have a fitness center and pool which was a nice plus. Didn't get a chance to try it out. Prices were reasonable and rooms were clean! read more

The hotel and rooms are decent and clean. When I went down for the free complementary breakfast everything was empty the place was overcrowded with people, It's like a circus downstairs for the breakfast and don't hold your breath waiting on them to refill the food items. I was also disappointed because on the Expedia.com they show pictures of our swimming pool and a hot tub and when I got here to go in the hot tub there was no hot tub had which was a huge disappointment because that was one of the big reasons why I booked this room. I was going to go swimming in the pool but the overpowering smell of chlorine coming from the pool made me nauseous so I skipped out and went back up to my room. The Wi-Fi is trash also. Bed bugs. Most Hampton inns are reliable. We had a very bad experience. Only single staff person in the hotel which was packed in thanksgiving holiday travel. Made it difficult to get help. We found bugs when going to bed. They changed beds but we found in the morning as well. read more

My flight to Rochester was cancelled do to Covid and so I was needing to cancel my hotel room. I called Hampton Inn and I told the lady at the front dest that my flight had been cancelled do to Covid and that I would like a refund for the room since I was unable to stay there. She said I would have to be charged $380. She then told me sorry in a very snarky town and said that I would receive only $50 back (complete robbery) I asked if there was a way I could please get a refund or a credit for the room because I had no control over the airline canceling my fight and she flat out said no and hung up on me. So instead I am out a big chunk of money. Not happy at all that they wouldn't be more considerate to the fact that I had no control over my fight being canceled. The place was great!! They accommodated our dog very well and they even have a pet daycare to watch your pet while your out and about. The guy at the front desk Steve was amazing! He tried to get everything we needed for our stay. We wanted a jacuzzi room and it wasn't available and Steve compensated us with a give card. He even hand delivered towels to us at the closing of his shift. They don't have room service at this location however they did have a decent complimentary breakfast read more

I was a bit anxious when we arrived at this hotel. It was getting late (9:30), we were tired, and there were several middle school-aged boys running around in the parking lot. The lobby sitting area was jammed with kids and parents. The staff at the desk were frantically trying to deal with several things at once. When I was finally able to check in, staff was friendly and cheerful, and explained there was a national youth hockey tournament this weekend, but that the number of kids shouldn't be a problem. We checked in. The room was beautiful. Modern, comfortable, elegant. A number of steps above a typical hotel room in this price range. VERY quiet. The AC unit ran quietly. There was plenty of insulation so we heard nothing from the other rooms, no kids-running-the-halls noise. The bed was very comfortable. We come to Rochester to visit family a couple times a year. I really enjoyed my stay here. The hotel was relatively quiet, allows dogs, and very well maintained. We had a comfortable room, smelled fresh, everything in working order, and updated. The staff were courteous and professional. I initially was put off by their polixy of habing the entire billed paid upfront with anadditional held for incidentals. I was just unaccoustomed to that upon arrival. It is in the fine print of the confirmation. Of course I checked. Breakfast had some hot items, serve yourself waffles, and several cold items. Coffee served fresh all day and fruit was available. One of the reasons that I decided to write a review was due to the attention to accessibility. In the pol area there is a lift for those with mobility issues to enjoy the pool and hot tub. The rooms were well laid out to accomodate someone who needs extra room to navigate and towel bars in the shower. I don't have any mobility issues but I thought it was great to have something in place for those who need it. read more

The rooms were good, nice hotel but there is some things I didn't like when I was here. The pool, I honestly thought the pool was a health hazard with how much chlorine they put in the pool, I was 20 feet down the hall and the chlorine scent was so strong and when I went in the indoor pool room the chlorine scent made me lightheaded, I mean I get it, public pool need lots of chlorine but that amount of chlorine was unnecessary, I've been to other public pools with less chlorine and a super clear clean pool, also, I think they could do better on the breakfast, plastic trays and cutlery, nope, also the muffin tasted weird, so in my opinion, staff are nice rooms are good, but everything else is a no. read more

Cozy and clean accommodations, GREAT friendly staff, breakfast in the morning, and they are so so welcoming to my dog every time we show up. Newly remodeled lobby, but the rooms need to catch up. Located in a nice setting, the hotel offers all of the traditional Hampton amenities with the added bonus of a walking trail outside. The breakfast area is crammed with furniture, overcrowded, and therefore very difficult to navigate. As with all Hamptons, the bed is comfortable and, although sold out, this location was very quiet. read more

Always a fan of The Hampton Inn. My husband and I took an impromptu road trip with our dog. We went to Rochester specifically to eat at Tournedos (15 min away). The hotel is tucked away on a quiet road with a bike and walking path. Hotel staff were very nice and accommodating. Their continental breakfast was lovely. The hotel offered sausage, bacon, eggs among other breakfast foods. The hotel and rooms are very clean. We will definitely be back in the future. Happy vacationing!!! read more

We stopped in Rochester for a weekend and stayed at the Hampton Inn and I have to say it was a great experience. I like to think I have pretty realistic expectations, I always consider the amount I'm paying when comparing the service to other places. The hotel was very clean, staff was nice, amenities were great. The room itself was comfy and clean; if I had to nitpick about anything it would be that the bathroom had a rolling (closet) door instead of a regular door and there was no 'fan' to switch on. I love my other half, but the lack of a real door and no fan in the bathroom truly leaves nothing to mystery. There was also an issue with the billing. I purchased the stay through Hotels.com and paid a month before we got there. When I returned from my trip, I noticed that Hampton Inn had charged me too. When I called, they apologized and quickly refunded me. But, the amount Hampton Inn charged me was LESS than Hotels.com, even though the amounts on the website were higher when I was booking online. My advice would be to check out the online sources and then call them to see what their rate is, rather than trust what's on the website. All in all, I would stay here again in a heartbeat. I stayed here a couple nights this past week and having nothing but positive things to say. First of all the young gentleman that worked the afternoon / evening shift went way out of his way to be helpful to me and other guests. Secondly, I mistaking lay left several shirts and pants hanging in the closet. While driving home I received call from the staff and they overnighted my belongings so I had them the next day. I can't say enough positive stuff about this place! Our experience was exceptionally good. My husband and I stopped for one night only on our way through town and are so glad we chose this place. We've stayed in lots of hotels from The Essex House in NYC to RedRoof Inn with our dogs. Experiences have been all over the map and I've learned to look for specific things to make a stay a good one. This Hampton hit the mark across the board! Friendly staff, clean room, very comfortable bed, great pillows, spacious room, quiet location convenient to 390, near lots of restaurants, pets stay free, complimentary breakfast including ready-to-grab breakfast-to-go if preferred or if you are a later sleeper! Not one single complaint! And to top it off, after getting 30 miles down the road we realized we had left our three down pillows in the room (which we didn't really need since they have great pillows as I mentioned above). I called the hotel and spoke with lovely Camille (pretty sure that was her name) and she is shipping them to our house today. We were assigned this hotel as part of a hockey tournament. When we checked in we were given 1 bed and a pull out couch. My son is man sized. Neither of us were going to be comfortable on a couch (and it was HORRIBLE...complete with strategically placed bars) and we would NOT be conformance together in a bed! I asked for 2 beds both when we reserved the space AND when we arrived and could not be accommodated. They were full. I am mad,cramped and AM PAYING for one of us TO SLEEP ON THE FLOOR!!! Then, check out is at 11 am. We have an early game and I wanted a late check out so I don't have to try to pack out at 6 am! I was told teams can not have a late check out!?!?! I'm not paying any reduced rates for this room! This is crazy! I was at another Hilton property last week and had NONE of this garbage! VERY DISAPPOINTED WITH THIS STAY!!! Wifi was very patchy, even when I was signed in with my Hilton Honers ID! Room was clean but this experience ruined the entire weekend for me! read more
