If you book this location you can enjoy the fitness center, EV charging, and free WiFi. Moreover, a breakfast buffet and self-parking are included. Pets are welcome for your convenience as well. This hotel is in a great convenient central location with easy access. It is about a 15-minute walk from downtown shops and restaurants. We discovered the great Petaluma mill shopping center and the other amazing places through their website. In summary, the Hampton Inn Petaluma is a comfortable hotel with affordable prices. The hospitality is exceptional, too. We can't wait for our Palm Springs trip with this Hampton hotel name brand again in the summer. read more

Wish I could give 0 stars! Where do I begin? The Hotel itself is cute but this not a place to stay if you are a business traveler. The hotel gym is not accessible before 6 a.m. If you're trying to work out before work you might as well get a gym membership or stay elsewhere. The breakfast is subpar. Forget it if your lactose intolerant because there is cheese in every egg dish. The juice machines were broken. The King suite is small and cramped if two of you are trying to work. The worst part and the reason I am never staying here or recommending this place is the way the staff treated me. I extended my stay for one extra day 24 hours before my stay and had confirmed (and paid) to stay in the same room. On that day, the office staff called my phone 7 times while I was seeing patients and left a message that I needed to get my stuff out of the room. They said my room was not confirmed and that they would need to move me to a smaller room. I told them this was their mistake and that I was seeing patients until 7 pm and could not return to the room. The office staff continued to argue with me, saying she needed to ask the other customer if they would "downgrade" because I wouldn't move my stuff. EXCUSE ME, you mean I am responsible for their mistake? This is one amazing place! I think the best thing about it is that you don't hear your neighbors or the outside at all! I had to get up to stop my EV from charging too much at four in the morning! As I went through the hallway. There was some ladies screaming at who knows who on the phone, but we never heard a thing in our room. It was a unique hotel. The room is small but clean, it has its character. Front desk lady was sweet and friendly. Christmas decor was very pretty, they even made the ginger bread house of the hotel. First time I have stayed at this property. Not your typical Hampton Inn. The building was a silk mill back in the late 1800's, so it doesn't look like a hotel at all. Great location and half mile from downtown Petaluma. Free breakfast, nice gym. and a small bar. The rooms are small. King bed was very comfortable, has a fridge and coffee maker, but no microwave. Closet space is small. The bathroom is very nice with good size walk in shower, no tub. I was by myself on business, so didn't mind the small room. Probably wouldn't work if I was with my wife. No greeting as I came down for breakfast, no greetings as I walked back to my room. One of the most beautiful hampton inns I stayed at. Bar is cool- nice to have in the evenings! However, the breakfast was poor standards. All lot was out of stock at 9am. The bald man was standing in dining room checking his phone. The only good part was for breakfast was waffle bar. Maybe someone called in sick? 30 min later everything still low!! No milk for cereal. The sausage was dry. Eggs didn't look good. Potatoes- meh. No milk... only substitute milk (almond milk) in refrigerator. Apples and oranges. Hoping for a bananas... The gentleman wasn't happy or friendly. On his phone all lot. Talk to your guests... ppl understand if something happens but horrible experience won't. I watched a father and daughter grab cereal and no milk. Very disappointing with expectations from every other hampton inn hold a high standard for breakfast. Breakfast is most important part of the day. You can only imagine where my day is going to be like after this. You have a beautiful hotel but this will have me not returning to the property. This place is so nice!! Renovated an old historic building. This place has 2 levels only but the ceilings are so high and everything looks and feels new and clean. I got to check in digitally on the app which was such a life saver bc i got to "check in" and pick my room the day before and when we arrived at check in time, the whole lobby was filled with people waiting to check in. All we had to do was go up the elevator and go straight to our room!! Water bottles and hard copy key cards and buttery snacks were waiting for us. This Hampton Inn is like no other. As a converted old silk mill with brick walls, there is so much charm! Everything is designed well - from the dining area (with complimentary breakfast) to the rooms to the hallways. There's also two public computers and a printer, which I was able to hop on and use with no problem. The rooms have a rustic feel, and I love the Petaluma map window shades. The downside: - gosh, why do Hampton Inns use the cheapest towels?! The hand towels are so thin, they are practically see-through - the bedding is also cheap with the kind of pillows that deflate instantly - soft bed - the blinding fluorescent lights in the bathroom make you feel like you're in a fishbowl - small gym, there's a lot of equipment but it's hard to have more than 2-3 people at once - during heavy rains, the area in front of the hotel floods. Had to circle the streets many times to navigate street closures and reach the back parking lot A 3.5 experience, rounding up due to its unique decor. read more

Excellent hotel in Petaluma! This was my first stay on a self-imposed road trip to northern CA while my the rest of my family was quarantining at home. Some friends of mine had a big picnic event in Point Reyes that weekend, so this seemed like a reasonable base of operations from which to visit. (All Pt Reyes spots being booked). It turned out to be perfect. Not only was the hotel in a very cool building (a restored silk mill from the late 1800s) but also in an excellent location (for me). It was a mere 1/4 mile walk to Whole Foods to grab picnic provisions, and only a little longer distance to downtown (though that walking route was a bit more sketchy). The parking was included in the price, and the staff were friendly and helpful. The room was a little pricier than I wanted (upper 200s/night) but ended up being worth it. The included breakfast was outstanding, including waffles, eggs, meats, coffee, juices, cooked oatmeal w/ fixins, and a good variety of baked goods. Best of all, I was actually a little blown away by the room and hotel interior: Clean, elegant, chique. A perfect merging of modern and historic, at least to my eyes. After only two nights here, I admit I was a little sad to leave. As it turned out, it would be the best hotel I stayed at during my travels over the next several days. read more

The hubs and I decided to take a spontaneous trip to the coast and needed a place today. Being in the lower price range and that curb appeal, it was an easy decision to choose the Hampton Inn by Hilton Petaluma. My main points are as follows: My biggest concern staying at a hotel is always how clean it will be. This place was MIRACULOUSLY CLEAN. Honestly, I was so impressed and felt comfortable thanks to the great job they're going keeping up with the cleanliness in the rooms. The place has a modern farmhouse chic vibe to it, which made it feel like we were staying somewhere special. Loved it! Ev charging available in the front as well which is great for those who need it. I believe they're level 2 chargers. Room for improvement? Every place has some. Since they aren't cleaning rooms inbetween your stays without special request due to Covid, I'd recommend a few things. 1. More than 2 towels would be nice. I don't mind reusing but when they're still damp the next day that's never fun. Their Covid "policy" says they're leaving extra towels but they didn't for us. 2. A larger trash can or an extra trash bag would be nice as well. We ran out of space in a hurry! Overall we enjoyed our stay and will definitely be back next time we take a trip this way. read more

Lovely hotel facility, I really wanted to enjoy my stay. I was woken up at 5:30am by a very loud alarm that I did not want. The device making the sound was so cheap and poorly designed that I could not figure how to disable it, so I unplugged it eventually. I could not really get back to sleep, so my whole goal of purchasing a nice place to rest was not fulfilled. The worst part is that I called Hampton Inn and they "opened a case" and promised someone would get back to me (they haven't after 3 weeks). I also received an email survey inviting me to tell them about my stay. I also put in writing my experience there. But have heard nothing back. My conclusion is that this is a poorly managed facility (or perhaps under-staffed). Not recommended. read more

Construction going on all night on the second floor for some kind of event (should have been disclosed upon check in!) only 1 young lady behind the counter was nice to us the rest of the Staff not so great! They advertise they are a pet friendly hotel, no they are not! Be prepared for condescending looks and under their breath comments like "oh you're the one with the dog" and "there's a cheaper hotel down the road!! FYI my dog is well groomed and doesn't bark! CLEAN, NEW, & SAFE It's a former silk mill, that explains the exterior appearance. Inside, the hallways are straight w tall ceilings and tall room doors. 2 floors. Room: Extremely clean, I couldn't find a single speck of dust! Even on the top of the headboard or the window ledges, spotless! Quiet I liked how the TV had a channel "Guide", many hotels don't have this. And appreciated the bathroom having 2 facial tissue boxes and 2 rolls of toilet paper so I didn't need to ask Housekeeping for more. You have a top-notch Housekeeping crew. Liked the small pull-out surface from the front of the nightstand, this was a nice feature to place small objects on. And the ledges protruding from each of the 3 windows was VERY handy for placing stuff. Refrigerator was inside the TV cabinet, kept drinks cold. No freezer. *++Note: you need to keep your room card key inserted into the slot by the door inside, to keep the lights on. Outside: I liked the grassy "Sunset Park" area between the parking lot and the road, for dogs to pee or poop. And there were poop bags supplied, not an empty dispenser like I've encountered at some hotels. $50 dog fee for the entire stay, if you bring a dog you'll get a first floor room. Free brunch: The attendant kept it well-stocked and very clean. I especially liked the thin cellophane-like gloves that were available (didn't see other guests using them, I guess they haven't heard of Covid or other transmissible diseases by contact!) to use to avoid directly touching the tray and dispenser handles that other guests touch. This was a wise decision to offer them, thank you. Location: short drive to downtown, main highways are easily accessible. Safety: I'm glad all doors (except the front door by the front desk clerk) to the exterior were kept locked at all times and accessible only by using the room key. This made me feel safer, unlike some hotels that allow anyone to enter during the daytime. read more

This is a unique Hampton Inn. I was excited to stay here since it was in an old silk mill. The inside was upgraded and the outside has beautiful brick. I had a king bedroom. I would say the room and bathroom were on the smaller side but it was fine for a one night stay. There were high ceilings in the room too. Everything was brand new and breakfast was good. I don't think there's a lot of things to do within walking distance but it's a quick drive to downtown. I would consider staying here again if I'm in the area. read more

This place has an interesting feel, as it's building was repurposed to be a hotel. It still has some of the historic artifacts still present to look at. As for it's amenities, it's a standard hotel. It's nice and has a modern design. I had only one issue with something not being as clean as it should, but I won't go into details publicly. We loved this funky new hotel in a repurposed 1896-era silk factory. The room wasn't huge but the high ceilings made it seem bigger. Our room had a very comfortable California King bed and probably the biggest flatscreen TV we have ever seen in a hotel. The breakfast was more than adequate, with eggs,bacon, potatoes, oatmeal, cereal, waffles, bagels, toast, juice, and excellent coffee. We loved this Hampton inn, and would recommend this place to anyone staying in wine country. Close by is the Helen Putnam Regional Park with miles of hiking trails with excellent views. read more

This place is amazing. You get corporate levels of cleanliness and and standards, and you get local, inn-keeper style treatment. I'm enamored with this place. I live in town and needed a place to crash while the house was uninhabitable. Late on a Friday night, and seeking safety from an abusive relationship, they not only found me a room, but Wendy, the woman running the front desk, was beyond kind and accommodating and sweet. She got me into a room, a really nice room, and made me feel incredibly well taken care of. This place is awesome, and the personal touch is honestly something I haven't seen in a corporately-owned hotel before. Everyone has been so amazing. The people who came in the next morning were awesome, and everyone I've deleted with so far has been. Incredible and lovely. The room is gorgeous, the exposed brick and huge windows have a calming effect. Bed is firm, but comfy. I couldn't ask for a better place to stay, I'll be back, and I only live a mile away. read more

We had a wonderful stay here at this Hampton Inn. The refurbished building was pretty cool. Although the rooms felt modern, they were fairly small and our room had an interesting layout to it. The bathroom was small too. It's not a bad place to stay for maybe a night or two. Anything longer than that I think I'd want a bigger hotel room, especially if there's multiple people staying with you. The staff were very friendly and they had ample free parking that seemed pretty well lit at night. The dining area was very spacious and clean. The breakfast buffet was on point and the staff did a wonderful job of keeping the food stocked. The Hilton app made checking in/out a breeze. The digital key was a life saver as our physical room keys didn't work. Overall, it was a pleasant stay in a quiet location. read more

Beautiful building in walking distance to downtown Petaluma. We enjoyed our stay and slept wonderfully. Our young sons enjoyed the building and looking at the old artifacts (and that they could walk to a local ice cream parlor at the end of the day). I grew up in the area and always loved this building, so I was excited to stay there as a Hilton product. I agree with one review that a boutique hotel would have been a nice touch as well, but even as a Hilton hotel it feels unique. My issue is with management of this specific hotel, not necessarily with Hilton. We are loyal Hilton members. I also see a post with similar issues to mine which prompted me to share my experience. We made a two night reward reservation for 39k points per night. We did check out after the first night and realize it's up to the hotel to decide if they want to return the rewards for the second night. We've only done this once in the past in Sacramento and management had no issue returning the second night points. Their customer service and hospitality means I'm definitely a return customer! As for the Petaluma hotel, I asked the girls at the front desk about refunding our second night and they said they'll probably just charge us the points. I asked if they'd ask management. I got the sense they had no intention of doing so and I was right when both nights points were charged. I called Hilton Honors customer service to inquire about it and as a courtesy they refunded me 39k points. A day after that inquiry, I notice my credit card was charged $181 by this hotel (a week after our stay). I called the hotel manager about it and he was so unbelievably rude and wouldn't let me talk. He told me I reserved the room with rewards and points and the minimum points for the room was 50k. Which wasn't the case, at all. But he refused to listen. I told him I would just call Hilton back about the issue and he said, "do that, maybe they can explain it to you". Needless to say, Hilton called him back and explained it to him and my $181 was refunded to my credit card. We were in town for a funeral and a family member stayed there the same night for $149. So, this manager took our 39k points for the first night AND later overcharged us for the room. Be sure to check your credit card charges, even days after you've stayed at this hotel!!!! Very rude and unethical manager. Unfortunately, unless management changes, we will stay elsewhere when in Petaluma. read more

SCAMMED $250, they said the room smelled of smoke and marijuana. WE DID NOT SMOKE IN THE ROOM. They said they can charge the fee for any lingering smells whether or not smoking occurred, it's not like a smoke alarm or smoke detector was triggered. When you check in you sign a form about "no smoking" but at the end it talks about any smell, smoking related or not. so they can SCAM money for perfume, hairspray, body odor, alcohol, trash smells, etc., feels like they are running a racket due to a lack of business. Also, there is no place to park your car for check-in and the front entry walkway was dirty and smelled like cat excrement. I will file a claim with my credit card company to fight the $250 SCAM. read more

I made a reservation at this hotel online through Hilton's website and received a confirmation email. I cancelled my reservation through the confirmation email and received a cancellation email with a cancellation number. Yet the hotel itself (not Hilton) charged me a no show fee. I called and gave them my cancellation number and asked why I was charged a no show fee. They said that a second reservation for the same exact nights had been made in my name and that I had not cancelled the second reservation. I had absolutely no idea what they were talking about as I had only made one reservation online and only had one confirmation number. The guy I spoke with was extremely rude and said that clearly I had screwed up and they would not issue a refund of the $260 no show fee. I called Hilton Honors and they called the guy at the hotel and he still refused to issue a refund. I was transferred to a supervisor and she said she would get to the bottom of the "second" reservation and find out whether it came from me or the hotel itself. It turns out that in fact the hotel had made the second reservation in my name and I had no idea. She apologized profusely and said that Hilton would be sending me a refund check. I have no idea if this Hampton Inn is pulling this as a scam and others are being charged a no show fee for a duplicate hidden second reservation but bottom line, fight this charge if it happens to you. If they are defrauding their customers, they should be reported to the Attorney General's office for criminal prosecution! read more

This by far is the coolest Hampton inn I've ever stayed at. This is a new hotel very modern and very comfortable. I stayed on the second floor and the exterior wall inside the room was brick with cool shade coverings on the windows. This hotel although I don't know the history of its past has been repurposed beautifully. I would stay here anytime I'm in town. read more
