1000x yes. We were…read moreSO lucky to be in town during Savannah Food & Wine Fest. There were lots of great events happening throughout the course of the weekend. We were debating between a few and decided to go with the Q-Masters event. 80 bucks for 2 hours of unlimited BBQ + beer + wine + cocktails. Sign. Me. UP. This was totally worth the 80 and then some. There were a ton of vendors and we barely had to wait on a line for any. Sure, the festival was crowded. But because there were so many vendors and so much space (the event was held at the old train museum) it was impossible for it to feel packed out. What I loved most about the event was the variety of food. When you hear bbq you think the basics (ribs, pulled pork). Sure, they had plenty of that. But they also had unique dishes like salted brick chicken, mussels topped with meat, several different takes on meaty tacos and even gyros. The only thing we were a bit disapointed about was the lack of sides. The event really was about the meats. Drinks were free flowing and plentiful. Various vendors (some big names, some smaller local names) were serving up a variety of cocktails, spiked seltzers, wines and beers. There was something for every boozy palate to enjoy. At first 80 dollars seemed a bit hefty, but after attending it was easy to justify the cost. After all, you could spend 80 bucks alone drinking that much during one night out, and this included an epic amount of meats. If you are thinking about a weekend in Savannah might as well check to see if you could align your trip with this event. I'm super happy that I did.

"Taste of Savannah" - highly recommend. Definitely one of the better festivals I've ever been too…read more Alcohol and atmosphere is spectacular! Everyone was extremely friendly and we ended making friends along the way. Pro Tips: 1.) Use Uber. Don't Drive 2.) Arrive hydrated and eat breakfast 3.) Alcohol is the main event, food is secondary. You'll need to purchase many small plates at $3-6 to get a meal. 4.) Arrive 30 minutes early to check in and get a spot in line (it will be around the block) There are also several other things going on during the event such as cooking classes, auctions, and store vendors. I definitely am happy with the purchase price.. it's more than fair!

Admission for adults $5.00 and kids under 12 were free. The event hosted live music on Saturday by the Chilly Willy Band and Mat Mackelcan. The food offered were in various booths but the stand out was the buckets of steamed oysters at $12.00 each, and steamed shrimp $10.00. In addition, there are fried oysters, clam chowder, Jambalaya, Po boys and plenty of other great grubs. We tried the steamed oysters and peel and eat shrimp which was very reasonable. The quality was awesome. It was quite the site seeing crowds of people shucking their steaming hot oysters, peeling & eating shrimp and drinking ice cold beers. We topped off our great meal with beignets which were piping hot and catered by a restaurant called Kenny B's. From what I understand this event has been happening for the last 6 years and I would definitely recommend it to people visiting the area this time of the year.

If you are looking for a small item for the house out a flashy golf cart they got it for you. A festival won't be anything without food. There were rows of food vendors down both sides of Main Street with everything. We went with an empanadas and churros. The empanadas were absolutely amazing. Before leaving we had to finish up with fresh kettle corn and candied nuts. The only downside is the large crowds. If that's not your thing I would recommend arriving on Friday when the crowds are much smaller.

I believe there were approximately 45 vendors this year. Vendors range from a vast variety of food trucks, Jewelry makers, plants and floral, home decor, and local charities to include the animal society. There were so many food options to choose from ranging from funnel cakes to gyros and everything in between. There were some small carnival rides in the rear of the festival that might be nice for kids, and also picnic tables along the road to stop to eat or rest. Overall it was a relaxing stroll on a nice sunny day with a variety of foods/vendors to choose from and proceeds help to benefit the local community.

Well folks here is another festival my wife and i went to in June 2016 and we will be back again!…read moreWhy? Because it was super fun and not to big. It showcased how country folks enjoy the day and the harvesting of their crops. This festival is located in Trenton, SC, head north then turn left towards GA you'll see it on your right! When we arrived we found ample parking, We parked so close you could smell the peaches! The layout of the festival highlights the main stage on one side and the peaches for sale on the other , with vendors and craftsman all around. The food area was in the back. It was sponsored by "Billy's Super Store". I guess they wanted you to exercise as you go get a deep fried Oreo, or a Big Boy Cookie! Ok the Big Boy Cookies are amazing! They do deliver! We found a number of vendors selling homemade items we haven't seen elsewhere, for a good price.Good thing the car was parked close! Whether you love crafts, tractors (I do love tractors!) sweet looking cars, or delicious food, the Ridge Peach Festival has something for everyone, even my Yankee wife!. A Country Store featuring home canned peach preserves, jams, and jellies, along with peach desserts and ice cream are all waiting for you to eat and buy! And we did! The peaches were harvested that morning at Trenton farms down the road a piece and we were able to buy a large basket of peaches for only $10! and they were only three hours off the tree when we bought them! We went to one of the food vendors and i ordered a hot dog with everything with fries and my wife had the cheeseburger with everything. It was fun to watch them cook on the grill and talk to them. we found a table with a good view of the parade which was getting ready to start. Nothing makes a day better than eating good food and watching a country parade! Oh yes it was really a country parade, all with a band, firetrucks, cloggers, horses and bikers! Fun to watch as we devoured our lunch but we still had some room for the specialty of the fair, peach ice cream! Dear me the line was long for the ice cream but I must say it was worth it! So fresh and creamy. They had a really nice children's area sponsored by "Log Creek Timber and Ridge Parts and Supply" Did I mention we were in the country? Over all we really had a great time in this small town. I was told by one of the vendors this festival has been around since 1970 and they were expecting about 15,000 folks here! All I can say was when we were leaving there lines of cars down the road waiting to get in. I encourage everyone down here in the lowcountry to try some of the small town festival and be sure to eat a fried Oreo! By the way their porta a potties were super clean and nice smelling. In fact they had folks whose only job that day was to keep them clean! Now that's friendly!
