The oceanfront lawn offers open space for wide scenic compositions, while the Spanish-style courtyard adds depth and texture for more detailed, artistic shots. It's a loop hike, and we preferred doing it clockwise. This way, the climb felt more gradual at first and gave us those rewarding canyon-top views with the canyon on one side and the ocean on the other. There's also a little waterfall and a lively stream running through the trail (we went in July, and the water was still flowing nicely). Be prepared--the ascent can be quite steep in parts, but the payoff at the top makes it all worth it. Facilities are only available at the trailhead, so plan accordingly. Dogs are allowed, but they should be kept on a leash. Parking is a bit tricky. The lot only seems to hold about 30 ish cars. I would say on the moderate / hard side.

Solstice Canyon is one of those places that quietly reminds you why Malibu is special. The creek, little waterfalls (especially after rain), and the ruins tucked into the canyon make the walk interesting without feeling crowded or overwhelming. What I love most is how peaceful it feels. You get ocean air drifting in, birds everywhere, and just enough shade to make it comfortable even on warmer days. It's perfect for a relaxed hike, a slow morning walk, or taking out-of-town friends who want something scenic without a hardcore climb. Parking can fill up, especially on weekends, but once you're on the trail it's totally worth it. If you're looking for a mellow hike with history, nature, and classic Malibu vibes, Solstice Canyon is a solid choice.

His frontside faces the Santa Monica Mountains & his backside faces the Pacific Ocean. He is holding a Giant Mexican Food Platter, wearing a Sombrero, Serape, & Sandals. I wouldn't make a Special Trip to come here but if you're in the Malibu area be sure to stop by & take a glimpse & a photo or two. The Former La Salsa restaurant has closed & currently remains unoccupied & in search of a new tenant. Here's some of its History. A Muffler Man Is a large fiberglass statue that was used as an advertising icon to Advertise & attract people to their businesses. They have become roadside attractions all across America & there's even some in Canada too. International Fiberglass in Venice CA made most of them. Believe it or not there are people on a quest to visit them all. There's something about these Giant Muffler Man statues that just makes people smile. Most of them were initially placed in front of Muffler Shops/Auto Repair Shops thus the name Muffler Man. The Salsa Muffler Man started out in the late 1960s as a statue carrying a Huge Hamburger which was So Cool! He was dressed as sort of a Soda Jerk serving a Giant Hamburger atop Malibu Fosters Freeze. In 1988 Artist Bob (Daddy-O )Wade converted & restyled the figure Into Salsa Man which is equally Cool. By coincidence Dennis Hopper the actor & artist made a very similar statue to this one that now sits in the Collection Center for the Arts in Dodge City Kansas. Now that the Mexican restaurant is closed should Salsa Man be changed back to the Original Hamburger Man. Only the Malibu City Council can decide that. Better still, keep Salsa Man & build a brand new Hamburger Man who watched over Malibu from the 60s-80'S. You can't have too many Cool Giant Size Icons watching over your city. Can you? LOL! It used to be, you had to have Mega Bucks & be really rich to have the Good Life, not anymore. The Game has changed. You've been Upgraded. Now You Can Live Like a King on a Limited Budget

While on the guided walk, I learned about what has been shot at Paramount Ranch and how devastating the last major fire was that came through the park. During the guided walk, I walked some trails and got to go inside the train depot and church briefly. Part of the guided walk included a brief presentation on special effects and sound effects in movies with props on hand. Once the guided walk ended, I decided to explore the surrounding area a bit and sat on a bench. While on park grounds I saw woodpeckers and turkey vultures. I love that Paramount Ranch has been used to make shows, movies, and commercials. This place is of great historical significance. I'd recommend that anyone who pays a visit bring enough water and food to sustain them. Also, dress appropriatey for the weather.

When we arrived, we were surprised to see three or four homeless individuals sleeping right by the courthouse, just to the left of the library. Given that this is a wealthy liberal area known for advocating social issues, it was disappointing to see that little seems to be done about the problem. All talk no action! That said, once inside, the library was a completely different experience. My wife and I reserved a private room to get some work done, and we found the space to be quiet, well-organized, and neatly maintained. The librarian was friendly and helpful, which made our visit even better. If you're looking for a peaceful place to work or read, this library is a great option. Just be prepared for what you might encounter outside since the locals don't care!

This is the closest library to us when living in Malibu. The staff is notoriously rude, like beyond reason. They typically don't return hellos. Are cold. Lock the doors in the middle of the day making you wait outside with small children in tow. Most of the patrons during the day appear to be homeless or dirty druggie type young men that stand outside smoking, eat in the library, curse and watch TV on the computers. The arm guards are friendly and sadly very appreciated. Story time for toddlers is typically at 3:30pm, oddest story time slot for littles at any library. We come because we check out books on a regular basis. I prefer litterly any other library than this one. It doesn't feel clean, overtly safe or welcoming. The city of Malibu could do much better.
