Hello, I come before you as an experienced General Manager of hotels that knows the industry and as…read morea guest of this wonderful establishment I am reviewing today. I came to Fort Dodge from Montana, moved me, my 5 children, and roommate to this location after suffering a devastating fire, to be a General Manager of the Days Inn. After two weeks of working everyday, over 16 hour shifts a day, and working off the clock most of the time (all of which was expected and instructed by the area manager and owner of the hotel), I was terminated by Days Inn for not coming in on time when I wasn't even on the schedule (it was supposed to be my day off). They had been letting us stay on property and fired me days before Thanksgiving which was also my twins twelfth birthday and then made the cops remove us from property without even politely requesting us to first cuz I would have left willingly if they had. I endured so much more strong actions by this company that I plan on getting legal representation and taking legal action. But after all that, my family and I came to the Economy Inn because we had nowhere to go and knew no one. The front desk worker was so amazing, courteous, polite, and compassionate. They worked with us and gave us an amazing room for an amazing deal (and I didn't even inform them of what had just happened to us; they are naturally of this nature). The entire time we've stayed at this motel, they have performed some of the best service and customer service I have ever seen in the industry. They were attentive, prompt, efficient, courteous, accommodating, and extremely caring. Any concern I had (which was nil) was taken care of immediately and with the utmost care and consideration. The wifi is phenomenal. The beds and bedding extremely comfortable. The furniture was in pristine condition as well as the interior of the room. Amenities were supplied daily and of good quality. Supplies and service regular and fully adequate and stocked. They even have NFC card readers for the doors. They have been so amazing and amenable, I believe this is the best motel stay I have ever experienced and honestly it was because of the genuine care and consideration they provided that made this experience beyond any of my expectations. The people that work here are worth so much for being such good people. I will always stay here in the future ana would recommend it to my sweet grandmother or anyone.

Very fun displays, linens, atmosphere, and it is in the upper eshelon for Tea Shop Restaurants by my opinion! Debbie is a star, and shows her caring ways to everyone! Never have I been disappointed with the food, or time spent there. You are welcome to sit and enjoy. You are never kicked out for having a long lunch, it is what they expect! So, if you have limited time, let them know ahead of time, and they will take care of everything! I cannot say enough wonderful things about this family, and their love for the public, and Fort Dodge, Iowa! GO HAVE YOURSELF A MARVELOUS TIME!! 5 STARS!

I never thought that I'd end up having a favourite rest stop in my life. I do now. It's this one in…read moreDows, IA. I was driving down to Des Moines from Bloomington. The trip would take roughly four hours by car. I was oddly feeling sleepy. I also needed a pit stop. The next rest stop was in Dows. Sold! This rest area is nicely curated. It had a lot of parking spots. There were picnic tables outside, with places to barbeque (or grill). You could walk around the place to stretch. If you have a furry pet, there was lots of grass for both you and your pet to stretch out. What made this rest stop tug at my heart strings occurred when I walked into the building. The theme inside was Pac-Man. OMG! It was as if someone made a rest stop with me in mind. There was a Pac-Man banner, complete with ghosts, above the vending machines. Even the garbage receptacle was Pac-Man-themed. Awesome! To whomever designed this rest stop, thank you! Long live the 80's and Pac-Man! The women's restroom was exceptionally clean. The stalls do cater to shorter women, though. When I stood in one, I could technically see other women walking into the washroom and wash their hands. It's rather odd being a voyeur without being able to avoid it. Dows Junction is across the street, so you can grab some food and gas your car up before leaving Dows. I don't know when I'll be back doing a run down to Des Moines again, but Dows was a pleasant surprise. This rest stop made my day. (441)
