I ended up hiring Jonathan Marks after dealing with another attorney. That attorney was a bit too…read morebusy to handle a complex custody case and I like when the person I'm paying is responsive and let's me know what is happening if I ask a question and not ignore me for days at a time. I spoke to several others in the area and Johnathan was the ONLY one to give me a straight and honest response about my case. He did not give me false hope by telling me I would get everything I asked for. He instead was realistic with me and he is extremely responsive! If I have any sort of issue he responds to my email so quickly and I know that is not the case for most family attorneys. If you like hiring an attorney who files to have your house sold a year after it was sold, and a junior attorney who perhaps ruins your entire life because they are upset about their own lack of accountability, then go with Jonathon. Ask why you cannot leave a voicemail. Ask why there is no mechanism to make you aware of filings. I very strongly suggest due diligence. I think there are decent people here who may have indecent personal matters going on, but those were never disclosed to me and forced me into a financially untenable legal position. Withdrawing a day before he told me--and before the trial was complete--is client betrayal and unacceptable.
