My mother, mother-in-law, and I regularly shop at this location, and we especially enjoy purchasing ornaments for each debut month. I recently realized that I had missed the date to use the coupons I earned from buying so many ornaments in July. With the holiday and everything going on, I mistakenly wrote down the wrong expiration date--September 1 instead of August 30. I completely understand if the store could not honor the coupons a day late. I wasn't asking for anything unreasonable, just hoping it might be possible. However, when I called on Monday, the associate I spoke with was extremely rude. I wasn't upset about the policy itself, but about the way I was treated when asking a simple question. Because of this interaction, my family and I will be moving our shopping to the Hallmark store in Westfield. It's disappointing, as we've enjoyed shopping at this location for years, but customer service matters. read more

I have been coming to Cythina's Hallmark shop for a while now to get cards for special occasions and holidays, and normally, I am happy to visit this shop to take advantage of special sales and stock up on cards, but today was an awkward experience. The sales staff are usually very nice and professional, and willing to assist you with merchandise if you need it, but I had one sales associate Karen, take care of my purchase today, and she was very meticulous with my purchase. I am a member of the loyalty rewards program with Hallmark which allows you to build points with every purchase, and you can get discounts and rewards on merchandise. I had a couple coupons that I wanted to use with my purchase that the shop did give me the last time I visited the shop. Karen rang up my cards and items, which took her longer than any other sales associate has taken to ring up items, and then I gave her my coupons. One coupon was $5 off a purchase of $15 or more. The other coupon was for a free trivet with a purchase of $15 or more or 20% off one regular priced item. They were out of trivets, so the other choice was 20% off a regular priced item. She took my other coupon which was $5 off a purchase of $15 or more, and proceeded to turn it to the back and actually READ the entire back of the coupon. Once she finished reading it, she then told me it could not be combined with another offer, and gave me a condescending look that was very rude. She ended up using the $5 off coupon and not the other coupon towards the purchase. The other times this has happened, the sales associate would use the 20% off coupon and the $5 off coupon, and not give me an attitude about it. Don't give out coupons to customers if this is going to take place, or you have not trained your sales associates to accept the coupon under certain circumstances. This is embarrassing for the customer to have to watch a sales associate read the back of the coupon for five minutes and then determine it could not be used with another coupon. Karen should have been better trained by the manager. Her customer service was below average in my mind. The value of the merchandise and cards is good at this Hallmark shop, so that is always a plus. I am just not going to be making as much visits to this shop as I have done in the past, because of this experience with Karen. If I do come back here to get some cards, I am not going to have Karen wait on me or handle my transaction because her attitude was not professional, and she made me feel like I did not want to be in the shop at all. Karen needs to have some customer service training. That is all I can say about my experience for now. Hopefully the next time I come here will be better. read more

This was a cute and well sized shop. I love that the brand has not just cards but gifts all around. My favorite areas are the ornaments because every year they put detail into the products. Some items like Disney can get expensive though but just means look for coupons! read more

This is an adorable little shop with lots of merchandise. I stopped in to look at Hallmark ornaments and was a little surprised to see that so many of them were already sold out--but that's on me. I guess they come out in October, so I was seriously slacking. They don't just sell cards and ornaments, either--they even had a little section of clothing/accessories. Masks are mandatory, and they have markers on the floor for social distancing. Everyone in the store was very friendly--go check them out the next time you need a gift or a little fun something for yourself! read more

There are so many cool items in this shop that I was surprised! Not only do they carry greeting cards, but they have collectibles including Disney, Dept 56, and Possible Dreams. They carry puzzles, stuffed animals, Colts logo items, and lots of gift items. There is even a women's fashion area called Simply Noelle to the left of the entrance. On the right is a room dedicated to Dept 56 with several diorama's of village setups including Halloween, a New England Village, and a Dicken's Christmas Carol. I must have shopped and browsed for ten minutes checking out the store and none of the three people working acknowledged me while I was there. I liked being able to browse without being hassled, but at the Greenwood Hallmark, I was greeted and told that if I needed any help, to just ask. That would be nice to hear from this one. Cynthia's Hallmark is the closest Hallmark to me and therefore the Hallmark store I frequent the most. When I moved to Carmel 20 years ago there were several Hallmarks - three within a 10 minute drive from my home. Cynthia's Hallmarks are the only ones remaining in the area - I've been to their three Fishers locations and the Greenfield location. Admittedly I'm a bargain shopper so I've take advantage of joining their mailing list and have a Hallmark Crown Club card. The only time I shop there and purchase anything is when I have a coupon or they are having a sale. I used to collect many series of Hallmark ornaments years ago but the prices have continued to go up and the resale value has crashed. Yesterday, the day after Christmas, the ornaments were all 1/2 off - my reason for shopping. Though I only purchased four miniatures; the store was full of people with their baskets loaded with Christmas merchandise to purchase. The lines were long but they moved quickly with four registers going to ring people up. read more

Employees are very rude. I only go here for ornament premiere and then get the heck out. They asked if I had a Power Cord, and when I asked "Isn't there a free one if you purchase a Power Cord ornament?" I was ignored and did not get my free Power Cord. When I asked about the free Hallmark club button, they didn't believe I was a member and waited for me to find my card (even though in July it was tied to my Gold Crown reward and they found it right away). I went in on Christmas Eve to exchange a gift I had gotten And I was surprised to experience some of the worst customer service. Both associates That assisted me were rude and treated me like I was an idiot when I asked questions about an exchange. I was extremely disappointed in the service I got, is specially on a holiday. I loved this store when I walked in. Bought several items. I found a collectors star wars ornament that talked. The lady was very nice and said the one I wanted was out of stock and called several other stores.(something stores use to do in old days which I appreciated) She found one and it came in within 4 days. I had told my 5yr old grandson about this ornament and he was excited. I couldn't really afford it, but hey it's Star wars. He will have it forever. I finally purchased it on Dec. 3. Brought it home and it DID NOT WORK. (had just come off of Amazon despair of junk being sent to me but this was Hallmark) My heart sank, So drove back to return it. Was absolved. Maybe I spent too much anyway and it was The Death Star. Kinda Creepy to have Princess Liea begging Tarkin to spare Alderann hanging from Christmas tree. :) "The more you tighten your grip Tarkin, the more star systems will slip through your fingers." :) When I came home later I checked my account. There was no credit to be found on my debit card. I live on social security. Everything I buy is cash. $10 is a big deal to me. $46 was even bigger. It was hours later. Called store and young girl had no idea and blamed it on bank. Said some banks take up to two weeks. What? No something is wrong on your end. She told me to call my bank. Called bank and they said that my card has no restrictions on instant credits and none pending. Back and forth to store and web site and twitter and online chat with the most ridiculous customer service chat person from Hallmark who was superfluous and just repeated everything I said to her. All in all I bet I spent two days and 3 hours of my time on phone and online trying to get money back for a toy for a little boy that was never meant to work in the first place.
