We had so much fun here. In this town and in this market. You will do pretty well even with…read morespeaking French. This is the heart of the town pretty much. Everything happens before 2 pm and closes around that time too. We stop by for their famous oyster and had zero regret. Just wished we were here earlier in the day. This market has two parts. A side for fresh veggie, cheese and bread. French people take their bread very seriously. You will find a lot of small pastries on the way in therefore do come hungry. Next part will be the meat and seafood part. I would come back here again just for their oyster bar in the back. Beside oyster, you can find other fresh season cooked and serve on the spot. Be warned it's not a big space. You can get some or alot to go on the beach. But just eat it there and enjoy. Restroom is outside the building and it locks down after 2 pm. We were there on weekends so no sure on weekdays.

This is a great little French market, make sure to try the Jamon Bayonne, the best ham north of Spain!

Very nice market and I recommend you visit when in San Sebastián. It opened in 1870. There are some…read morestores with olives and gourmet products, but it's mostly butchers and fishmongers. There's also a huge shop with bacalao, or dried, salted cod. Outside, there are produce and flower markets. There is also a great cheese shop outside. A central part of old town.
