There is an extension for the Halifax Humane Society at the Volusia Mall on International Speedway Blvd. This new adoption center is focusing on dogs to find there forever homes. The Grand Opening was today and most of the majority of the dogs find a home. What a wonderful way to kick off a great idea. The adoption center is open daily from 11:00 am to 7:00 pm. May all the fuzzy, furry, four-legged ones find someone to love them.

Staff was very friendly and nice they helped me find a new fur baby to add to the family. I told the staff I only have a requirement needs to be ok with a child. Explained age is just a number as well. They went through their database of dogs and took time to write a huge list for me to go check out. Thanks to them I found a dog named Nelson who is now named Mando by my son. Thank you so much and will be back again soon to rescue another.

Found this puppy injured and malnourished. Thanks you humane society for saving this lil guy!

I have no idea where these negative reviews are coming from. When we arrived , the front desk nurse Morgan was super helpful and answered all our questions. She took in the dog without a hassle and checked for a ID chip. Throughout the experience I was very confident I was leaving this abandoned pup in good hands.

Horrible. Can't surrender sick animals here when owners have no financial means of getting to a vet.

The animals are well taken care of, the people working there are so nice and helpful and booking a highland cow cuddling session was amazing. You can even stay on site if you want that real "outdoorsy" experience - but it's perfect even for a quick day trip. Can't wait to come back again!

Not only is the location a perfect portal to a different type of Florida , but the wagons are all the way in the back so it's perfect privacy. There's also a tent outside to sit and watch pigs take a bath in the fountain. The wagon room we got was the Piggies room! Perfect decor and amenities inside(towels/shampoo/conditioner/tissues/coffee mugs /even games!) Huge bathroom with incredible shower. There is ac but we spent most of the time with the screen door and bathroom window open & it felt great. Included inside:mini fridge, toaster, coffee/tea (included),microwave and a small heater. Plenty of plugs to charge & a full length mirror. We love that there was no tv because we got to watch highland cows instead !! We also got to sleep to rain and it was so peaceful especially waking up every morning to new friends like pigs and sheep! We also saw: 4 highland cows!! , 2 different types of pigs, a family of sheep (+Anya the sassiest girl), cats, dogs, goats, turkeys (that like hugs but scared meee), guinea fowls, chickens and hens, mini horses and a peacock that sounds like Kevin from UP in the nighttime !! All the staff were super friendly including miss Elaine! Truly an incredible place to visit and get to feed pigs all day.

We were able to spend two additional weeks with him and spoil him until the time came yesterday for us to make that hard decision and the staff was once again very understanding and caring. They made the process as easy for us as possible letting us take our time with the decision I highly recommend both the vets and staff here for your pets. They care and that's important Thank you all

Just took my 10 week old pup there with a extremely high fever, face swelling, and very lethargic. No treatment was given to lower his fever or help him in anyway. Was only told it could be cancer and referred to a specialist in Maitland whenever I can get an appointment and spent a $650 vet bill for nothing. I went to a different Vet in Port Orange for a second opinion and they immediately started treatment, got his fever down, gave him fluid and he is now back home recovering from an infection with major improvement and NOT cancer. I understand not knowing what it is at first, but not treating a life threatening condition in such a small puppy is not acceptable and extremely concerning. I will no longer be bringing any of my pets here and will be highly encouraging others I know to go to a different vet as well.
