Seems to be a popular spot, and the staff are very friendly. The fish and fries were great but the oil stuck with me.

Perhaps we'll try dine-in next time. Quite spacious in the restaurant with good parking outside. Fairly pleasant service. You get a bit of a discount if you pay by cash.

Finally, fish and chips are back in Stouffville!…read more I've been to Joy's Fish & Chips a few times since they opened mid-2024. I've eaten in and taken out, both of which were mostly positive experiences. The service is consistently friendly and pleasant to interact with. It feels like everyone genuinely enjoys working here, which is a big difference maker. The only minor issue is when dining in. In the first few months of being open I find that the restaurant is often packed and service can be a bit slow (as of December 2024). Other than that, service has been fantastic. As I mentioned earlier, the restaurant often seems busy if you're dining in. However, since I live so close I prefer to take out. As of now they don't have any delivery services but if you're willing to pick up for yourself they're pretty quick. I've had big orders that's I've called in and told it would be ready in 20 min. When I go to the restaurant and order (a smaller order) it's only usually about 10-15 minutes even when the restaurant is packed. The food is very, very good! The fish is battered and cooked to order, which you can see for yourself from the takeout counter. It has a delicious crispy batter while the fish stays moist. The fries (chips) are nice and thick and perfectly fried. My only minor complaint is that the fries need more salt. But that's something I can add myself. I've also tried their scallops and shrimp. Both are really good but not quite the same level of their fish. While I don't know if they're battered to order, they're still juice and fried perfectly. Worth trying! Lastly, I just wanted to mention parking. They have a few parking spots to the right of the building, which is perfect for takeout since the takeout entrance on the right side of the building. They have a few parking spots in front and then also quite a spots to the left of the building. Plenty of parking! Overall, I'm super happy Joy's Fish & Chips! I've been going fairly regularly and I've only had great experiences.

This 30-year-old restaurant personifies New Orleans food very well, serving Creole and Cajun…read morecuisine. The dishes were plated well, and the food was fresh and tasted delicious. There are specials that change weekly. The interior is decorated with New Orleans memorabilia, medium lit, cozy (not large), with jazz music in the background. Service was attentive and friendly. They operated for 30 years at their old location. This location soft-opened on 2026-02-12. We came on 2026-02-25 for dinner. There were still some furnishings to complete (there were unforeseen delays). They kept the same menu offerings but it will be expanded within a month. We ordered the following: 1. Citra Terre D'Abruzzo Pinot Grigio - Italy (glass $14.95). 2. Coke. 3. Crab Cakes ($19.95). 4. New Orleans Shrimp Cocktail ($19.95). 5. Jambalaya Aranchini (weekly special). 6. Blackened Lamb Chops (weekly special). 7. New Orleans Fisherman's Plate ($39.95). 8. Pecan Pie warmed with Ice Cream ($14.95). 9. Bananas Foster ($14.95). 10. Beignet ($14.95). Every dish had an excellent presentation. We spent a lot of time taking photos and videos. What did you expect from me?! We loved all the dishes! The portions were large! There are more staff than in the previous location, allowing the service to be excellent. They tend to have many loyal and returning customers. Every table starts with freshly baked bread and butter. The bread was so fresh! The three appetizers tasted good. They each had a little kick due to creole cuisine. I loved the shrimp the most. The Blackened Lamb Chops was perfectly cooked. Each of the four pieces were very tender, accompanied by a delicious sauce. The dish had some very nicely cooked seasonal vegetables: roasted potatoes, a red pepper, string beans, a broccoli, and a carrot. This dish will be put into their regular menu in the near future. The New Orleans Fisherman's Plate is great if you want a little sampling of their seafood: Blackened Fish, Cajun Calamari, and Coconut Beer Shrimp. It also comes with rice and seasonal vegetables. The fish was so good! We brought some home for my mom and she really loved it. The Coconut Beer Shrimp was on top of a Orange Marmalade Sauce, which is really liked. The three desserts looked really good and tasted good. I loved the pecan pie the most. They can split dishes in half in the kitchen and serve them on two dishes for two people to share. The restaurant uses fresh seasonal ingredients and spices to create authentic Creole and Cajun tastes. Everything is made in-house except for bread and butter. In the near future, their bread will be made in-house too. Currently, there is only indoor dining but they are looking into the possibility of sidewalk outdoor dining. Mike Djurdjevic runs the front of the house while his wife, Mira Djurdjevic, operates the kitchen. Their son, Marko, also helps in the front of the house. There is a large pizza oven at the back of the restaurant. They will be introducing creole pizza in the near future. There is a separate large room for events, parties, etc. This room will be ready in the near future. They also do catering. The restaurant is wheelchair accessible, but there is no door-open button. There is one gender-neutral washroom, which is also wheelchair accessible, and one female washroom. Thrre is paid neighbourhood street parking. Review 2026-037

Everything was delicious…read more The bread was warm and tasty, and both the servers and the owner were incredibly friendly, which made the experience even better. At first, the location felt a bit odd and made me wonder what to expect, but once inside, the atmosphere was actually very nice and welcoming. The seafood was excellent, and the grilled bass was amazing -- that was my favorite dish of the night. The other dishes we tried were also very good, but the grilled fish really stood out for me. The owner also mentioned that they'll be moving soon to a larger location near the Etobicoke lake area, which sounds exciting. With a better location and more space, the atmosphere should be even better, and I think the restaurant will do really well. Definitely a place I'd recommend, and I'm looking forward to visiting again after they move.
