The waiting room is in the middle and has complimentary coffee. We waited about 10 minutes after checking in to be seen, and no paperwork was needed since it was completed online. The medical assistant helping us was very welcoming and upbeat. She was diligent and ensured to get all necessary information as well. They offer in house blood draws/labs which makes it very convenient for patients.

After being…read morebrushed off by my OB, several primary care physicians, and even the hospital ER, I have developed quite a fear of going to the doctor; however, my pain has developed into something I can barely tolerate, so I needed a doctor to see what's going on. I just wanted someone who wouldn't brush off my concerns after weighing me is all. I got that, and more, with Chris Sheridan at Union Village Medical Group. He is a nurse practitioner, but I will refer to him as Dr. Chris from here on out. Every time I visit with a concern, I am listened to with respect, all the way from reception to the nurse taking vitals, and in the exam room with Dr. Chris. Everyone is patient and kind, and they understand what it's like to be in pain. I'm not judged for my medical history. Instead, we are working together to fix issues my past doctors have ignored. Dr. Chris never makes me feel rushed. In fact, he spent 45 minutes going through test results with me, discussing symptoms, and explaining what we will try next at my last appointment. He even offered to work with my insurance company to try and get an important medication covered. And after all that time spent, Dr. Chris still asked me, just as patiently as his first time, if I had any other concerns I wanted to go over with him.

I left a couple messages at the doctors office and never got a return and the prescription never showed up. So here's the great part comes. I had my follow up appointment and told the doctor what was going on. She immediately had me get the pharmacy on the phone right there talked with them verified that they did not get the prescription and stayed on the phone until they received both electronic and a fax to show that they got my prescription finally. Then at that point my appointment started and was unrushed. Normally, you always have to go through the people at the front desk to get these kind of things handled but the doctor was so adamant about me being taken care of. She would not get off the phone until they verified the prescription.. to me in this day and age that was top-notch customer service. If you're looking for a new doctor. Look no farther than Dr.Sbaih here at advanced family medicine. It really means a lot because I originally lost the last doctor I had for several years and I was nervous about finding somebody that was as good as my old Doctor was and now I couldn't feel any better about my new doctor. I can confidently say there will NEVER be a second. Let's start with the receptionist. She was loud, unprofessional, speaking across the office like she was hanging out on a street corner, and casually dropping the F-word while patients were sitting there listening. Zero professionalism. Zero discretion. Zero awareness of her surroundings. Then she called me back to take my blood pressure. GOOD. LORD. The second I was confined in that little exam room with her, the smell hit me. This wasn't a tiny hint of body odor that you politely ignore. This was a HEAVY, stale, musty, haven't-seen-soap-today smell that filled the space. I was sitting there wondering how I'm at a MEDICAL FACILITY concerned about whether the equipment is sanitized when the person touching patients smells like basic hygiene wasn't on today's agenda. I don't expect the Ritz-Carlton. I don't expect perfume. I don't care what anyone looks like. But if your JOB requires you to stand inches away from patients, PLEASE SHOWER BEFORE YOUR SHIFT. Soap, water and deodorant should not be considered advanced medical technology. And then I overheard that she's the MANAGER?! That nearly took me out. If this is management, who exactly is enforcing standards? HER? She's supposed to be the example for the rest of the staff while loudly using profanity in front of patients and walking people into tiny rooms smelling like a damp laundry hamper that's been forgotten for a week? Absolutely not. The provider was at least pleasant, but even that portion of the appointment didn't inspire much confidence. She repeatedly had to leave the room to ask questions and then come back. The entire appointment felt rushed, disorganized and amateurish. I was told I needed a specialist referral. At checkout they had absolutely NO difficulty taking my payment and telling me I was done. Funny how that part of the operation runs efficiently. I left and realized nobody had given me any referral information. So I called. FIFTEEN MINUTES ON HOLD. Someone finally answered. I explained what happened. BACK ON HOLD. Eventually I was told someone would call me back. Three days later, I'm apparently still waiting for this mythical phone call. So, to recap: profanity in the waiting area, an unbelievably uncomfortable hygiene situation, chaotic service, a provider repeatedly leaving to ask questions, no referral information, 15+ minutes on hold, and absolutely no promised callback. But my payment? Oh, THAT they managed flawlessly. The most unbelievable part remains discovering that the person setting this spectacular standard of professionalism is supposedly THE MANAGER. If the manager is the example everyone else is expected to follow, this office doesn't need a suggestion box. It needs an intervention. One visit was more than enough. I will be contacting my insurance company and finding another provider immediately. I wouldn't voluntarily return to this office if they validated my parking, refunded my copay, AND handed me a complimentary bar of soap on the way in.

Instead, the front desk duo insisted on an 85 dollar payment for an unconfirmed missed appointment. Although they claim to be in a position of billing and scheduling. They refused to rectify the situation, stating i needed to call a third-party billing department. Furthermore, they refused to allow me to speak to the primary physician about this eronous billing issue. Today was the day i fired Reliant as my primary provider. Another example of how a company fails to provide reliable healthcare do to unethical and incompetent gatekeepers.
