This man is a genius. He has a long history in making shoes in his native S. Korea and can do anything you need. I brought a pair of expensive suede heels to him where my dog had eaten the suede off the heel and chewed the back up - he was able to use a piece of fabric I had to replace the heel and fix the other tears in one day! They are perfect now. I am so happy to know there is such a professional shoe repair person in the area - and he is at the entrance to Westfarms Mall open until 9 pm. I have a go to guy for shoe repair in my town. But when in need while at work, Hakky has been top notch. I've used this shop's services several times and have had work done quickly and correctly each time. No complaints here, that's for sure. I will admit, they're not the most personable guys in the mall, but they absolutely know what they're doing. Prices tend to be a bit on the stiff side, but since the work is excellent, I won't complain. Absolutely a fan of Hakky. read more

This evening I took seven pairs of dress shoes to have 3 of the pair to have taps on the front and back installed, I wanted to have all seven pair polished. I dropped each pair with cedar she trees, I was told to return in 40 min. I took a few min to get waited on, I was surprised about business this place was doing on Saturday night. I had a problem with one pair due to this business' mis-handling of a previous request. When. I returned all my requests had been carried out in a timely manner, they individually wrapped each pair in plastic and placed them in my gym bag this business also sells shoe products along with key' chains, and some minor lock smith tasks. Each pair was sparkling with the new treatment beaming on my I paid $75.00, I thought this was high and a little troubled. Great for quick shoe repair (heal cap for stilettos, uneven soles). A few tips: 1.) Bring cash! There is an ATM around the corner if you forget. 2.) If you need more complex shoe repairs, they will tell you. I had a pair with that need leather repair vs. the plastic cap and they explained to me what they can and cannot do. read more

Just got the repaired 2 pairs of shoes back, in excellent condition. Bottom pad was added on as requested, shoe surface: one suede, the other shining leather, both were treated and cleaned, even though I didn't request it, but figured this was a must. I brought in boat shoes that had its stitching unraveling. It was fast service but when I picked it up, I discovered that they had used a different color thread and it wasn't nicely repaired - the leather edging gaps more than the original design. I'm pretty disappointed, since I thought this place was going to be good, per other reviews. I needed my boot's heels to be quiter , they did the job in less than 30 minutes. I gave only three stars because their cash only policy was not prominently displayed , not to me any way. So the cost went up for me due to out of network ATM fees. I was charged $16.00. Had I planned better , I would rather go to Fazio's in Newington. Bottom line:Hakky's very convenient , just have cash or check ready to pay. read more
