Let me back up: when I first entered, she argued with me about the polish I wanted. I've get the same combo almost every time; she doesn't need to instruct me on how it will look and suggest something else. It hasn't changed in the two months since I last had it applied. *sheesh!* Back to the broken nails: I stated that I just needed tips on those two fingers. Stupidly, I looked away at something on the TV--when I looked down she had the other two fingers on that hand clipped down to my fingertips. I jerked my hand back and asked her why she did that. Because, two nails are too short. What? These two are short and the others are longer. What? I'll put tips on all of them. But, I don't want tips on all of them. They don't need them. No, they will look natural. But, they were natural. We went back and forth like that. Me telling her I already had them as long as the tips and I don't like having those things super glued to my nails. Her telling me she was going to do that. Had I been smart, I would have dropped a tenner on her station and run. Apparently, I am not smart. After making no progress against the infallible they-will-look-natural wall, I finally just told her it was too late now. Do what you want. My long nails were gone. Months of growing them out wasted. And I was disgusted with trying to get my point across. It didn't occur to me until much later that she did it because I wouldn't agree with her about the polish. Look. I'm not a Karen, but I should get to decide these things. Well, all I can do now is just not to return. Not just that! I can review them! Update** A cashier complimented my nail polish. We started discussing bad service in a nail salon. She had a similar experience at Glam Nails, too! Except, he took THREE hours and charged her $80? I don't pay that in DC! What did she have done? Acrylics and gel. Um. What?

I stopped by to visit this new boutique style salon and thought that it was adorable. I must mention how uniquely and tastefully the shop is decorated. I mean, wow! I absolutely love it! With all of this, I decided to make an appointment to get my hair done and to get a pedicure. Stacia cut and styled my hair. It is the best haircut I've had since I moved to Bristol almost 3 years ago. Thank goodness that I finally found a great stylist. Shannon performed my pedicure and she did a great job. Plus she has a great personality (both Shannon and Stacia have great personalities), which allowed for good conversations during the pedicure. Shannon does make up, as well. I want to go on a little more about the way the shop is decorated. According to Stacia, Shannon has the gift to decorate and transformed the blank space into the eye pleasing creation into the beautiful space it is now. It has wide black and white stripes painted on the walls, extremely high backed thrones as seats for the pedicure booths on and elevated platform, and it has a few booths available for stylists and manicurists to rent. You should visit this place. You will feel like you are on a mini vacation. I highly recommend this new-to-town business.
