If you have african hair, avoid this place. My mom came in for a hair dye, blow-dry, and trim. We said trim multiple times. Instead, they only dyed her hair, didn't blow-dry it, didn't trim it, and then cut her hair short. They charged her $140. We were told it would be $75 for the dye and $70 for the blow-dry and trim. But then they changed the story and claimed it was $75 for a haircut we never asked for. Her hair looks worse than when she walked in? no style, no finish, just wet, uneven, and chopped up. Pieces are literally falling out of her hair. It's clear they don't know how to work with african hair and they don't listen to what you ask for. When they realized they messed up, they just stood there awkwardly and said nothing. I've been there before and paid $70 for a wash, trim, and straightening. But now for my mom, they changed the prices and didn't even complete the service. This place is inconsistent and overpriced. Save your time, your money, and your hair. read more

Best experience I've ever had at a hair salon. I made an appointment yesterday, and when another appointment ran late they were more than accommodating to move me back 20 minutes. I had the pleasure of having Eddie as my stylist. I went in and asked for my old, damaged blonde to be restored to my natural light brown/ dirty blonde. Eddie had some big ideas and when I told him "go for it" he certainly did. I have hair that will grow out beautifully, is restored and soft again. I'm in love. And the prices- extremely reasonable. Every time I have came here they do whatever they want. You can show them a picture and make sure they know what you want and still do a whole other mess. I ask for balayage every time I have gone and they keep giving me highlights. NOT the same thing. Came here on Valentine's weekend. Everywhere was already booked & I wanted to do my hair on Friday. (My original hairstylist no longer works so to find someone like her or near her was very difficult) Called this place up & told me to come by as soon as possible.. When I walked in they were already closed they were just waiting for me! Al decided to wait for me & do my hair even though they were closed! I am so happy he was able to see me! The hair wash was AMAZING! I love a good head scrub. I just went for a blow dry & it came out great!!! Everyone is always so friendly. I got my hair done by Iris once again and she helped me decide on a cut that would thicken the appearance of my hair (love it). I am on their mailing list so I went recently because they sent out a 20% coupon, which brought my total down to $40 for a cut and a blow dry. It was reasonable considering how out of control prices can be living so close to the city. P.S. Don't be afraid of getting a ton of spam mail from them. We (my mom and I) used to get our hair done at Hair Quest back in the 90's but we moved so it'd been a while.Back then it was always a great experience so I thought we'd go back there for color correction since that's a pretty difficult process. I made an appt for my mom last Wednesday for the following Thursday for color correction (she had years of black dye to get rid of) along with highlights. After 4 hours they managed to get the black out and give me the most beautiful medium brown color ever. I mean it was more beautiful than I could've imagined! My stylist, Mery, took her time, reassured me, and not only did the color come gorgeous, when she blew out my hair it was awesome. I came here a few months ago and I just wanted my ends to be trimmed and a blow out. Well the stylist decided to not listen to me at all and started cutting away and giving me layers, which I did not ask for in the least bit. How does trimming ends mean giving me layers? I hated my blowout because I have curly hair and he didn't get to my roots. So when he was done with my hair it was way to much volume on top and I looked like a 80s metal rocker. As soon as I got home I put my hair up in a bun. It's taken a few months for my hair to finally get back to normal. I am never going here again. read more

The work was patchy, and the colors looked a mess. She was constantly complaining about how she was really nervous it was not going to be on color. Best haircut I've gotten in a really long time. I just moved to the area about a year ago and I was recommended to Hair Quest by a co-worker of mine and I've been going back ever since. I go every month for a trim and conditioning treatment and just recently got the keratin treatment, my hair has never looked better. I constantly get compliments on how healthy my hair always looks. These wonderful stylists were able to fit us in for up-do's and make up for my daughter's wedding at the last minute and we weren't sure what to expect as we are from out of town. What a wonderful experience! My make up was perfect and so was my hair! I called there the other day because I heard they have "eyelash perms". When the receptionist answered the phone, she was very rude. I asked her what kind or procedure was this and the cost, and all she said was that is was 35 dollars and didn't have time to "chat".??What?!! Then, I explained that I was interested in the procedure but wanted to know exactly what they used to curl your eyelashes and she rudley cut me off and said if I wasn't going to make an appointment, then she didn't have time. This is what you get when you go to cheap bergenline places. I would rather spend a little more money and go somewhere else. This place was recommended by a friend of a friend. I tried it out as it's in my neighborhood. I had a great first experience but things went downhill from there. I don't recommend this place if you are Not spanish. You will feel like an outsider and will have a hard time communicating with the receptionist. When I arrived for my 2nd appt, I was not seen till 40 mins after my appt time. My hair stylist, although is friendly, did not even acknowledge me until I said something 20 mins into my appt. I was not even offered a beverage like most salons provide to their customers. The prices also are not consistent. In July I paid $35 for hair cut/blow out and in Oct I paid $50. What a rip off! I asked the receptionist why the huge difference, she couldn't explain as she didn't speak english. My hair stylist pretty much just walked away after giving her the price. For $50 you can get much better and professional service- they are definitely overpriced for the service they provide. read more
