I was loyal to Ludlow Blunt (formerly Tommy Guns) in Brooklyn, and Justin's skills vastly surpass their best barbers, even on their best days. Yes, his cuts take time. He cares about his craft and his attention to detail clearly reflects that commitment. You have to make an appointment, though. And, be prepared for a slight wait even when you make an appointment. Justin (and every barber who works with him) treat each client individually, and they will make sure you leave looking your best. Frankly, their prices are low considering the level of skill exhibited and the consistency of results. Additionally, the shop is a really cool space, and everyone in there (barbers and customers alike) are down-to-earth and easy to talk to. But I simply did not get the haircut I requested…read more I went in with medium/long hair asking for a simple trim of an inch off the back and another inch off of the top. I wanted maintenance and the bangs out of my eyes. But, I left with a totally different drastically shorter hairstyle that I didn't request. I even specifically told the stylist not to cut the sides since the stiffness of my hair causes it to stick out unless it's long enough to comb back. As you can see from the pic - the sides were cut and now stick-out. The pic also shows that the back is also awkwardly squared-off. So, I'm forced to find another stylist to fix what was done (which will sadly cause me to have an even shorter cut). I estimate it will take 3-4 months to grow back the damage done. My guess is that if you have very short hair that needs periodic maintenance, or, if you want that luxurious barbershop shave and men's spa vibe. This might be a great spot for you. They also have an entire section for mani/pedis that look super comfortable for dudes. So there's that too. But, I can't say it's a place where you'll get the cut you ask for.
