This is an update because the manager very kindly reached out to me to apologize for the poor shampoo service and promised she would address the problem with the stylist. The haircut itself was well done and looks fine, EXCEPT for the length of the shortest layer which should have been longer to fit into my ponytail. It's only hair, after all and will grow. I've been going to this Hair Cuttery for a few years now. Many people have a skewed view of general places to get your hair done. But let me explain that this particular salon is the absolute exception vs the norm which most people have experienced. First off they have assembled one of the most talented team of stylists in the area. Each stylist comes with varied backgrounds and experiences which gives clients varied choices to have the best work on their hair. Be it a simple cut or developing the best combinations to give you the perfect color. There are some very experienced stylists who I constantly see mentoring and teaching some of the newer ones on proper techniques or how best to do the "chemistry" to make the perfect color for a client. And everyone is welcoming and you just feel a great vibe when you are there. All are there to give the best client experience. I especially love to go because I feel welcome and there is always some great conversations going on and I'm always smiling. But I'd be remiss if I didn't give special recognition to my stylist Karen who always does an incredible job. Always is engaging in conversation. And most of the time we are laughing together. She is very attentive and makes sure that when I leave the chair, I'm happy with her work. I know it says that walk I s are welcome but do yourself a favor and go onto the App and book an appointment. They are incredibly busy because of their great work. That's a testament to just how good all of these stylists are. Forget those "Bougie" salons that overcharge and under deliver. This is the GEM! Make the change to this salon. read more

I've never in my life left a bad review but it's definitely time. went in for short hair hair trim. Manwella cut my hair vohhhh dear lord but a hatchet job. going to a wedding and just don't know what to do. at best I'll have to get the back shaved and pretend I want it that way. I left half way through. what she did to the back of my hair is criminal!!!!! thank goodness I saved the top and sides. Make sure if you go here you know the person who's cutting your hair. I went with first available and whoever I got must have been brand new. I just wanted a simple 3 on the side faded up and a clean up with scissors on the top and I was given the saddest hair cut of my life. Absolutely incredible. I guess they really don't want walk-in service. I came in and the person greeted me and she said well if you don't have an appointment I have an appointment in 10 minutes and so I can't cut your hair. I told her it literally would take five minutes to cut my hair because you don't use scissors it's all razor, and she said well then I have to clean up and I don't have time before the next appointment. Incredible. Never again am I visiting this establishment. The next person would not have known that I did not have an appointment. Absolutely pathetic. read more

I recently moved from Miami to Plantation and I was in desperate need of a haircut. I decided to give this Hair Cuttery a shot. I was greeted immedietly and scheduled in, I waited maybe 10 minutes before I was introduced to Nancy I showed her a quick picture of what I wanted and she got to work. I was a bit worried because I tend to get unconventional haircuts and I was hoping they wouldn't butcher it. Nancy was very careful to deliver exactly what I wanted . She was great and for 17 dollars?! It's a steal! I recently visited this place and although I was unable to book an appointment with my usual person, I was taken care of another lady, Anna. He didn't try to sway my decision. I got a nice scalp massage during the shampoo process too. I am the customer that doesn't carry much conversation but he was very nice and easy to talk to. I went here for the first time a couple months back. I had my hair lifted to purple, and was there for 6 hours. Went home to realize my purple was orange at the top & went back to get my moneys worth. Make sure your hair stylist knows what she's doing so she doesn't use you as a rag doll. A nice lady fixed it for me free of cost... I came back months later to set up an appointment and the same lady rudely said under her breathe "she's gonna come back again to get it fixed". Told me I'd have to bleach my whole head for a color correction also..i made an appointment and walked out. If you're confident in your work, we will feel confident coming. I never went back, and made a hair appointment at a different salon. My hair did not get bleached, nor did I have to go back. Nor was I unsatisfied. I was extremely unhappy with the stylist who had been cutting my hair. I was desperate, since my short hair was becoming unmanageable. I read some of the reviews for Hair Cuttery and decided to take a chance. I walked in without an appointment and was immediately taken to a station by Makai. I got a shampoo, cut and blow dry which is ten times better than what I was getting from my previous stylist. Not only that, but I saved a ton of money. I was paying my previous stylist $50 for just a cut--not even a blow dry. She would spend about ten minutes on my hair, and I would go home and have to start reshaping it. Makai listened to what I told him and spent an appropriate amount of time cutting and styling my hair for the incredible price of $28. I am super happy with the cut and will go back again. read more

I have come to this location twice now over my lunch break and have been satisfied both times. You don't need an appointment and can just walk in. I have waited about 10 minutes max before I was in the barber's chair and within 30 minutes I was out the door with my new haircut. What a gem of a salon. All of the staff warm and friendly, and top notch on styling. I saw James for a blowout...usually takes people forever with my hair, and expensive. But here cost efficient and I was gone in about an hour in total (with washing) and left with smooth bouncy hair....love it. Plantation doesn't have an actual "blow bar."
