I had my second appointment with Christy, and I'm very happy with my hair transformation!…read more My first appointment was focused on blending my previous brown/blonde color and grown-out dyed roots with my natural gray hair. The result was good, but I felt it was expensive for what I had requested, as blending my multi-colored hair while still making it look beautiful and natural took a lot of work. But I could tell Christy really knows what she's doing and now understood how my hair reacts, so I came back couple months later with a clearer vision. We communicated really well, and she gave me honest input on what would and wouldn't work. I asked her to push my dark, resistant hair as light as possible without damaging it, and she did an amazing job. My hair turned out beautiful, and I'm very happy with the result! My tip: communicate on the design you want clearly and discuss your expectations with Christy beforehand, and she'll be honest about what's achievable with your hair.

It was going to be expensive but I had done my homework and her prices were comparable to many other great salons. She really listened to what I said, and by the time we were done, she not only corrected my hair, it looked healthier than its looked in 20 years. The cut was beautiful the color outstanding! After finding the salon on TikTok and seeing that they specialize in curly hair, I booked an appt…read moreonline. I was really excited for the appt. The salon has an attractive atmosphere and they offered me a menu of drinks when I arrived, which I thought was a nice touch. I requested a trim. My curly hair is longish and I was hoping not lose too much length, as it took me so long to grow. I just wanted to polish it up a bit. I booked with Alona after seeing her work online, and she gave a consultation. She said because my hair is uneven lengths in the back, she'd have to cut a substantial amount of hair, bringing it to bob length to make it even. I explained no, I don't want to cut it that short, and I don't mind if it's not fully even, just trim the split ends and keep as much length as you can. She said no, that's not an option. Then I asked if she can think a little bit out of the box and accommodate my request? She said no. She went to check with management and came back saying no. I was forced to leave the salon without getting a haircut, as the stylists were unwilling to work with me, without cutting off a significant portion of my hair (a third, but it would look like half, as curly hair bounces up and looks shorter). The owner was nice about it, but personally I feel the lack of flexibility here is not right. I know that what I was asking was a normal request (she said maybe it feels like a normal request to you...!) , and it could be done, maybe not exactly how they would wanted it to be -- but a haircut. But they refused because they are "curly hair specialists" and rigid in their systems. I thought their knowledge of curly hair would allow them to be creative enough to help. But they didn't want to. I left feeling on the verge of tears, it was a very frustrating experience. I never imagined any salon would refuse to cut my hair. In the owner's response to my review she misrepresents what happened. Not cool. None of my hair is at bob length, it would be if it were to be cut as the stylist was suggesting. Some of it is a little shorter than longer parts but it's not that drastic. I also clearly told the stylist that I was open to it being a bit uneven. I asked the salon to be flexible and that is what my review reflected. This could been an opportunity for the salon owner to consider if perhaps her salon wants to take a more client-centered approach. Instead she decided to discredit me in her response and lie about what happened. Really a bummer. Updating to one star.
