I only let natural hair specialists touch my hair so on recommendation i called "Gemma" who works here. She said it would take 4hrs, approx to do senagalese twists for my brother's wedding the next day, however...6 HRS LATER, she was only half way through and i had to go to work, so she said i should come by after work in the evening. Which i agreed to. I put a scarf on my head and left. When i was at work She then txt to say she was putting the price up. When i asked why, she said people had advised her that she had undercharged me. When I said this was unprofessional she said she didnt want to finish it. After begging her she said if i wanted it done, i should come back the next day (knowing full well it was my brother's wedding the next day)
I was left with unfinished hair though i'd paid her money upfront and as it was needed for the next day, i ran around London (after hours) desperately looking for a stylist who could finish my hair for my brother's wedding. I was distraught!
She also kept the extensions that i bought with my own money and refused to give it back.
Incase you were wondering i did find someone who was kind enough to finish the hair. I had to drive to Kent in the rain at 11pm at night but she was welcoming made me feel relaxed and when this new lady did my hair, i discovered just how badly the other twists were done. "gemma" had braided the hair so tight that my scalp had started to turn red, (i got scabs and sores a few days after) She didnt prepare the hair well, so the ends started to unravel and for a "natural hair specialist" she didnt seem to know how to comb or treat natural hair.
as for the woman who had "saved" my hair- you could see just how much nicer the finish was. SO THANK YOU THANK YOU TEISKA.
Not sure that im allowed to promote her on this review, but if anybody wants to know more about Teiska, i can do nothing but sing her praises. Treats natural hair gently and knowledgably, styles are amazing and VERY reasonable in price.
