I had no idea until I made the returns that Hobby Lobby doesn't put an item number on their receipts. My fiance, a clerk, a store manager, and myself had to search my huge pile of receipts trying to find which item went with what receipt. It was very stressful with people lined up behind us. What an archaic process. Over the last two years I have turned in four rain checks and Hobby Lobby always says they will call when the item will come in. Guess what, they never call me. I always wait past the date (they say it would arrive when I turned in my rain check) to call them and inquire about the status. They say, "Yes, we received it." I'm thinking, "Why didn't you call like you said you would?" One of the rain checks I turned in was misplaced but I was later told it was in the back order pile. How is that misplaced and why wouldn't you check the back order pile when I inquire? Then another rain check I submitted was a large, large order and when I called the day they said it would arrive, I was told all the items were in. So I drove to the store and when I got there, they said they couldn't find some of the items. I said, "How do you loose things in less than an hour?" A little over an hour after leaving the store, they call me and tell me they found the missing items. It's sad, this used to be my favorite store and I dread buying things there now. Hobby Lobby is my last resort now and not the first store I'll go to. It's definitely not my favorite store anymore. My daughter has disliked Hobby Lobby for years and I am now disliking it too. He quoted the project as a 6 week time frame starting mid February 2024- it is now almost August 1st and we still have an unfinished bathroom. He cemented over the vent in the bathroom - which makes the bathroom out of code and not eligible for resale and with it not being addressed in a timely manner this leads to other issues- such as a vent heating and cooling over fresh poured concrete causing other unforeseen consequences. (Ie cracked concrete, foundation issues, ect..) We were hoping he would do the right thing and make us a priority and focus on fixing this asap however the experience has been the opposite. Including no call - no shows and unpaid invoices to the hvac company who uncovered the issue. We even provided him a positive referral in good faith for a bathroom remodel which ultimately led to him winning the bid. However he keeps telling us that he has not had any receivables since the issue and that he is still waiting and needs more time Week after week it has been this story. There are also several other action items he needs to address and fix and has not. Such as the door trim, paint, dry wall. Things that could have been completed before addressing the vent issue. His team also painted over wallpaper and he told us after the fact. He also asked for more monies outside of the contract. Unfortunately, we are going to have to go the legal route as this is a code violation issue and he is not taking us seriously.
