This place might be the ONLY mexican restaraunt in Lübeck, but still the service and food is better…read morethan average in Germany. On Fridays and Saturdays the place is usually crowded. Many people just come for the cocktails and nachos. Bolero is part of a Mexican restaurant chain in Germany, so the quality is high. The dishes are not too spicy and the music is not too loud. A good place to eat in Lübeck if you are in the "Old Town"

Let me start by saying the food is pretty good but the service is what brought the review down. We chose a table next to the bar, but the front door kept sticking and a chilling German wind in February does not make for a great dining experience. (All the tables away from the door were Reserved.) The food is actually pretty good. It's kind of a Mexican/Italian fusion. We went during happy hour and my two mixed drinks were delicious! But the bartender didn't speak a word to is the entire time we were there. The waitress was friendly but seemed to have too many tables to attend to since we had to wait for refills. Prices are ok, maybe a touch high (about what you'd pay for a steakhouse in America but without the steak) but overall it would be a great choice if they would fix that sticking door or if you can sit away from it.

We had passed it on our way there earlier, and realized it was the taqueria some friends had recommended as "the best in Hamburg". Let's just say that our high expectations were not disappointed! The tacos were absolutely delicious, especially the pollo al ajo and the tongue taco. The vegetarian options were delicious as well (we tried the pinto beans and fresh cheese and the cauliflower and chickpeas tacos). We also tried the cochinita and brisket tacos and really enjoyed them. I guess there's no point in ranking them... they were all delicious! We waited for the tacos with a plate of mouthwatering fresh and simple guacamole and a couple of Sol beers. The place was packed and had a half an hour wait despite being close to closing the kitchen (we were told it happened at around 10:30 pm). We decided to find some room at the bar and eventually a stool freed up, so we ate there. It was a good call, since we wouldn't have been seated in time. One final thing: they have churros with chocolate for dessert but we didn't get to try them, as they had run out! We'll definitely give them a go next time.

Good service and tasty tacos A great evening meal, not to heavy. We bought 3 tacos for each of us…read more We will return when we come back to visit Hamburg
