Charming old world style buildings blending in with modern high rises. What I loved is that you can also find plenty of cafés, German bakeries and restaurants on the Zeil to take a break. The Zeil is not only pedestrian-only, where you can stroll safely and really enjoy the experience, it is also in walking distance from the Hauptbahnhof (Train Station)

All around you are shops and shops and more shops. It is not as expensive as Goethestrasse but still it has some very good shops. Be warned it is crowded during each time of the day. Especially on the weekends it is hard to walk, biking is virtually impossible although some extreme sport fans might actually enjoy it. During the weekends and the evening there are also many street musicians and artists so it is quite cool to go there and listen to music and watch the crowd go by. As a tourist it is a must place, but you are probably going to pass through it one way or the other it is regarded as the center of the city. cheers

Notably absent, the English pound sterling and the Swiss franc. As a city founded on international trade, the European Central Bank is headquartered here in Frankfurt in a huge glass and steel tower not far from this massive monument. Yep, it's a huge Euro symbol, complete with twelve stars. I'm not sure why there are 12, maybe you know. Perfect spot for a selfie!
