Best bakery of Stuttgart, several branches. Specialized on wholewheat bread, good cakes at times. A bit pricey but you get quality and real bread ( not the factory style of others) read more

GREAT LITTLE SPOT for dinner. We visited in May 2016. It was the Biergarten sign that caught our…read moreattention to this somewhat off the beaten path spot. But it was the beer & the service that kept us through dessert! They serve their own beer which was very good. We are not big fans of craft beer, but do like a good, smooth beer that's not bitter. Found it here. Wurst & pretzel "snack" was plenty for a meal. And warm apfel streusel with ice cream & whipped cream (complete with sprinkles) was fantastic. If we were in Stuttgart another evening, we'd have been tempted to go back. Loved the atmosphere next to a fountain in the middle of a pedestrian only area called Bad-Cannstatt.

Our menus were shoved at us and the impatience from our waiter was evident. The beers are smooth and great! The spaetzle was dry and crumbly. We left hungry. There is a lot of hype around this place for all the wrong reasons. If you go, I sincerely hope that your experience is oodles better than ours.

The fries were cooked perfectly too-crispy but soft and tender on the inside. The server was extremely friendly and helpful, and I appreciated how attentive he was, even though it was crazy busy. It's a great location and I'd highly recommend this place if you're looking upscale Swabian comfort food near the train station!

After our usual walking tour and some window shopping we arrived at the recommended place and got a table. Ms T was not hungry and just wanted a pretzel. I wanted some kind of wurst and found one item that satisfied both; three weißwurst served with a soft pretzel. I wanted something with it and ordered creamy green beans. This was another simple but wonderful meal. I peeled the sausage as we were taught in Münich and ate them with the supplied mustard. The green beans are probably the best I have eaten. They were in a light white sauce seasoned with tiny cubes of ham, bohnenkraut (summer savory) and black pepper. They were absolutely delicious. I make something similar at home with cream instead of the white sauce, but unless I grow my own, I cannot get the high quality, fresh, slender beans that they have. Next time I will copy this version as well as possible. We each drank 0.5L of their house Pilsner which was excellent. Again, we had very friendly and helpful service in a very nice local place. It was another memorable meal on-shore in Germany.

Fantastic Group Dining Experience in a Stunning Setting…read more We visited Brauhaus - Kulturbrauerei Heidelberg with a group of about 30 people, and the entire experience was seamless from start to finish. Since we were such a large group, we ordered ahead and had several great options to choose from -- a smart move that made everything run smoothly. I had the salad with chicken, and it was absolutely delicious -- fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. Others in our group were equally happy with their meals, and the portions were generous all around. The beer was also excellent -- crisp, well-crafted, and a perfect match for the food and the setting. You can tell they take pride in their brewing. What really stood out, though, was the service and atmosphere. Despite the size of our group, the staff was efficient, friendly, and totally on top of things. And the interior? Absolutely gorgeous -- warm, historic, and full of character. It's the kind of place where you instantly feel like you're somewhere special. If you're in Heidelberg, Brauhaus - Kulturbrauerei is a must. Great food, great beer, and a great experience overall. I'd go back in a heartbeat! 5 stars! P.S. You can buy mugs and t-shirts if desired.

This one had great reviews and high marks, so we gave it a try. The setting was in Old Town, close to the river and the Old Bridge. The entry was on a narrow, cobblestone street. From the first interaction with the host to the final bite and payment of our tab, everything was great. Everyone was so friendly and helpful, both in helping since we didn't speak the language, to making fantastic recommendations for beverages and food options. I wanted a traditional Bavarian meal, so I chose the pork knuckle with potatoes and a cabbage salad. It was delicious! Crispy, meaty, and starchy, all paired with a fantastic helles beer! So good. Given the ambiance and level of service, we expected it to be a bit more expensive than some places, but it was worth the slightly higher cost to have such a grand experience!
