The mystery was confirmed by the kitchen where he allegedly went to enquire as per my request: The house dressing is the house dressing. I was ready to leave at this point but my friend persuaded me not to. I'm glad I stayed as the waiter proceeded to behave normal and the food was rather lovely - the beef was tender and the portion sizes were generous. Nothing was too salty as previously experienced by another reviewer, the kitchen may have taken the feedback on board. And I am happy to report that the current house dressing is dairy free.
