There are some doctors who only speak their 'doctor' language and you don't get a single thing they said to you after you come out of the office, but Dr Jeon spends time to actually explain what is wrong and waits for me to understand what my current condition is. The provider simply clipped a portion of the nail and sent it to the lab. However, I was later billed under CPT code 11755 -- which is classified as a "nail unit biopsy" and categorized as surgery. This resulted in a significantly higher charge under my insurance plan. When I asked for clarification, I was told that nail clipping is considered surgery because a small portion of the nail is removed. This explanation does not align with what most patients would reasonably understand as a surgical procedure. Patients deserve transparent billing and accurate coding that reflects the actual procedure performed. I encourage anyone visiting this office to ask detailed questions about how procedures will be coded and billed before agreeing to testing. Very disappointed with how this was handled.

A year and half later, and after two consecutive nights of crying in pain, I walked in to the pediatricians office demanding for a referral for a podiatrist.I called the number he gave me and made the appointment the same day.Staff was very courteous and pleasant over the phone. On the day of the appointment,I picked up my daughter from school and googled the address and lo it was less than a block away from where we live.I wonder how I had missed it.After filling out the required forms, had to wait for another 45 minutes and by then I was starting to get little impatient.There were atleast 10 more patients in the waiting room We were called in and there stood a man with the friendliest face ever.In less than 2 minutes he and my daughter were best friends and she was happily explaining to him about how and where it hurts her etc etc.Once he was done talking to her he explained to me that her feet were very flat and she would need to wear inserts for a year in her shoes to fix the arch of her foot.He took us to another room where he measured her foot with a scanner.He made everything seem so much fun and he even explained to her about the inserts and how if she wears them every day her boo boos would go away.My daughter is just 4 and honestly he didn't have to explain to her.But he took the extra time to create the rapport with her and treat her like an adult. Few weeks later, we received the call from his office that the inserts were ready and we could come in and have my daughter try them on.Again spot on attitude from his staff and he again reiterated to my daughter how important it was for her to wear these everyday and although it might not be so comfortable first couple days she will get used to it. My daughter has never complained about these inserts and reminds me if I ever forget to put them in her shoes because her doctor told her to wear them everyday. Its been two months since she has been wearing her inserts and she has never complained of her aching toes since then. I finally decided to see the doctor after playing a round of golf and my foot acting up again. The office is in the basement level of 70 Hudson. They have elevator access. The office itself is okay. A bit dated. A bit dingy. I had a foot xray done and I would have sworn the x-ray machine was from the 1960's. Sure, it worked fine, but call me a snob, it seems like when I go to a doctor's office in New York city, its vibrant and new - whereas doctors offices in Hoboken feel like they are just old and run-down. The staff working there was pleasant. The doctor I met with wasn't Dr. Paternina, but Dr. Vo. She was helpful, she showed me my x-rays and explained her diagnosis - the doctor felt it could be a stress fracture and put me into a soft cast and walking boot for a week. My insurance covered the costs and I had a co-pay. I'm hoping that there won't be any surprise costs as this was recommended by my insurance as an in-network provider.
