I got this room from Trip Advisor for $30 which led me to book it through Snap Travel. Snap Travel messaged me on Facebook to book the room. I had never used Snap Travel before.
Upon arriving at Hacienda Hotel, my boyfriend and I thought the hotel was very quaint and colorful. The hotel had bright orange walls and huge indoor plants reaching the ceiling. The lobby was air conditioned. We noticed that there was a long wait to check in and several people were waiting in front of us. The front desk had two staff members but only one of them seemed to know what he was doing.
After about thirty minutes we finally got to the front desk and they told us they couldn't find our reservation. We showed our email confirmation and the booking number but they still couldn't find it. We were put to the side while they tried to find it and simultaneously help other hotel goers.
I was feeling sick from scuba diving and waited on a long couch with a coffee table full of books. It took almost 2 hours to be able to go to our room and by then they still hadn't found our reservation. We gave a deposit for the room just so I could lay down. We did feel bad for the guy behind the desk. At that point, his friend who didn't really know what to do had left and it was just him. His manager was yelling at him to find our reservation. He eventually found our reservation hours later and we got the deposit back.
Despite the extremely long and chaotic check-in process, the room was comfortable and air-conditioned. We stayed in Mexico for 16 days and this hotel had by far the most comfortable bed we slept it. You sank into the mattress and the pillows were fluffy. The shower had hot water and good water pressure. We only stayed one night so we did not get a good look at the rest of the hotel or pool, but we did manage to look at the pool quickly before going to dinner at a delicious Indian restaurant next door. The backyard was set up like an oasis with a pool in the middle, shaded by trees.
Overall, it was a cheap and comfortable one night stay albeit the check-in process was a long and drawn out process. read more
